Coldplay marked Mylo Xyloto’s recent #1 debut on the Billboard chart with a visit to the Saturday Night Live stage, which was splashed with trippy neon graffiti akin to their album cover for the occasion. Is Trina Signing With Rick Ross?

‘I’m really excited about just this whole new phase,’ she says during ‘RapFix Live.’ By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Sway Calloway Trina Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News Is Trina going to be the next artist to sign with Rick Ross ‘ Maybach Music Group? During her visit to MTV News’ “RapFix Live” on Wednesday, the Miami rap vixen didn’t confirm or deny the rumors, but the evidence is pointing toward Da Baddest Bitch aligning with the Bawse. First off, Trina’s new project will be her first since no longer being “affiliated” with longtime label home Slip-n-Slide Records . “I’m currently in the studio working on my sixth album, which is amazing,” Trina told MTV News. “It’s my biggest priority right now. It’s really major. I’m really excited. I’m really excited about who I’m working with. I’m really excited about just this whole new phase.” Who she is working with is what led many to believe Trina will be joining Wale, Pill, Meek Mill and others at MMG. “I have a few surprises,” Trina added. “This album, I want to make it more about me. I’m not going to have a whole album full of features. I’m working with some really great producers and Ross, of course. He’s the structure and the leader for the album. I love Ross. He’s like my brother, so it’s really important for me that he understands where I’m at right now and to help make this album be as great as I want it to.” The possibility of a Trina and Rick Ross alliance has been a long time coming. One of Ross’ earliest recording appearances was as a guest artist on Trina’s “Told Y’all” from 2002’s All About the Benjamins Soundtrack. The two artists have also performed on the same dates recently. Although Trina wasn’t with Ross the day he experienced two seizures while traveling to Memphis, she immediately reached out to check on his health. “I was getting off a plane when I found out about it,” Trina said. “I of course immediately reached out to him to make sure everything was OK and just to tell him to take a break, take it easy and take care of yourself.” When asked if she ever had conversations with Rozay about signing to MMG, all she said was, “We discuss a lot of things. We talk about a lot of stuff, so who knows?” Do you hope Trina signs with Ross? Let us know in the comments! Related Videos ‘RapFix Live’ With Trina Related Artists Trina Rick Ross

The Only Guest On Rihanna’s “Talk That Talk” Album Is…

Read the original:

Rihanna’s “Talk That Talk” album is on it’s way and she only has one guest on it! She recently teased on Twitter: “One feature on the album! And we got the best!!!!!” so, naturally , fans began to wonder. Today it was revealed that the special guest is none other than her mentor and repeat collaborator Jay-Z. He appears on the album’s title track. Producer Stargate and his partner Tor Erik Hermansen told Norwegian website 730.no: “This is the first time we do a song with Jay-Z and Rihanna together. Actually it’s the first time Jay does anything on our beats. It was about time. ‘Talk That Talk’ is a mid-tempo banger with hard drums, dirty synths, and Rihanna and Jay at their best. We are very happy with the song and Jay’s verse is crazy—same with Rihanna’s part.” Rihanna confirmed the news on Twitter today, saying: “Yes sir! Jigga man is on the title track” The two have already made hits together with “Umbrella” and “Run This Town,” so we have high expectations. Drake: I Made Take Care ‘My Way’

‘I feel like I’ve earned the right to do it my way,’ Drizzy told MTV News before November 15 LP leaked onto Net. By Rob Markman Drake Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Rather than rant and complain about his album leaking on Sunday night, Drake accepts that it’s just a normal part of the record biz. After a nearly complete version of Take Care (“The Ride” and the LP’s bonus cuts seem to be missing) hit the Internet, Drizzy took to Twitter to address the early release. “Listen, enjoy it, buy it if you like it…and take care until next time,” he wrote . Although TC is officially slated to hit retail on November 15, the album has spawned numerous trending topics on Twitter and has dominated hip-hop’s social conversation over the last 24 hours. Rather than an overblown production befitting of rap’s fastest rising star, on Take Care, the OVO general scales back and puts the focus on his native Toronto and his relationship with the city. The sophomore LP, recorded mostly in Canada with Drizzy’s right-hand producer Noah “40” Shebib , is a deliberate toast to his town. “That’s one of the biggest stories behind this album, it’s either my way or we’re not doing it — in everything,” Drake told MTV News back in October. “Every photo shoot, every video, every step I’m taking I feel like I’ve earned the right to do it my way, so part of doing it my way I want you to see who I am really around.” And his TO crew may not be as clean-cut as Drake’s radio-friendly music may have led fans to believe. Opening with the melancholy “Over My Dead Body,” Drake sets things off with a shot to his detractors and tells how his success ultimately supports his people in the struggle. “Just performed at a bar mitzvah over in the States/ Used half of the money to beat my brother’s case,” he spits. On “Crew Love,” Drake gives Toronto upstart the Weeknd a push. Despite the song’s calming melody, there is something rather menacing about it once the Young Money star begins to rattle off his bars. After going on about taking his goons on vacation, Drake threatens violence with the coyness of a mafia don when he rhymes, “I got a lot of friends to come up off the strip for me/ The same ones that will come up off the hip for me.” It’s not unlike the sing-songy line in “Headlines” where Drizzy begs the haters “You gon’ make someone around me catch a body like that.” By now, Drake’s story is well-known: Child actor from Canada drops a couple of mixtapes, one of which makes its way to Lil Wayne, who then invites the young MC on tour and signs him to his Young Money label. But on “Look What You’ve Done,” Drake takes his personal narrative and adds all of the necessary color. He starts off talking to his disapproving mother, “We argue about spendin’ money on bullsh–/ And you tell me I’m just like my father, my one button you push it.” Maybe we’ve had Drake pegged wrong all along? Maybe it’s all just entertainment? Regardless, on Take Care, Drake shows a different side than we’ve previously seen from him. “I show love and get love back, and I think that’s very important for people to see,” he told MTV News. “Just know that’s our town, that’s our place, so that was important for me to really display that consistently on this album.” “Underground Kings” and the Just Blaze-produced “Lord Knows,” featuring Rick Ross, finds the rapper planting his rap flag, while the Rihanna-assisted title track is a pulsating dance track that aims to take Drizzy past the confines of hip-hop and R&B. Still, with all the sonic variations on Take Care, there’s one common thread. Throughout the LP, the Young Money virtuoso consistently puts on for the city that he’s from. Welcome to Toronto. Wale’s Journey From Attention Deficit To Ambition

‘I had to redefine the hustle. I had to put it all into it,’ MC tells ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Wale Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News Ambition may only be Wale ‘s second album, but his latest release has him feeling like a new man. When he appeared on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live,” the D.C. rapper explained the difference between his new Maybach Music album, distributed by Warner Bros., and his 2009 Allido/Interscope Records debut, Attention Deficit . “My mental state, just being around my friends [for] this album and being happier,” Wale said of the chief differences. “I can call anybody at Warner Bros. whenever I want at any given time; from [the] president to A&R to the mailroom, I can call ’em.” Aside from the support that he gets from his parent label, Wale is also reenergized thanks to the love he gets from his MMG fam. “That’s a lot, that reassurance that your team really believes in you. I could talk to Gucci Pucci or Rozay or [Roc Nation’s] Rich [Kleinman], or everybody that I have in my life in business at any time.” With Attention Deficit, Wale established himself with radio records like “Pretty Girls” and the Lady Gaga-assisted “Chillin’,” but the album was a considerable commercial failure. For his second go-round, the MC has taken all that he learned and applied it to what he has consistently referred to as a classic body of work in Ambition . “I paid a certain amount of dues in the game, with radio and all that stuff, I understand a lot of that. I understand how to make that all work in a day. Hopefully the results will show,” he said. It’s more than having a developed business sense, however. Wale claims to now be working harder than ever. He no longer holds on to the spoils of the game and doesn’t even have a home to call his own anymore. “I sacrifice everything. I got rid of my crib; I don’t live anywhere right now. Right now, technically, I don’t live anywhere,” he said. “I had to redefine the hustle. I had to put it all into it.” Related Videos ‘RapFix Live’ With Wale Related Artists Wale

Lindsay Lohan Sentenced To 30 Days In Jail

Judge allows Lohan to complete Playboy shoot before going to jail. By Gil Kaufman Lindsay Lohan arrives at the Airport Courthouse in Los Angeles on Wednesday Photo: Toby Canham/Getty Images Lindsay Lohan is once again headed back to the sadly familiar confines of the Los Angeles County jail. The troubled actress appeared in court Wednesday morning (November 2) and was sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating her probation for not attending court-mandated therapy sessions and getting tossed from a community-service gig. According to TMZ , Lohan admitted in court Wednesday that she violated the terms of her probation from a theft case by getting booted from her community-service assignment at the Downtown Women’s Center. Judge Stephanie Sautner was adamant that she would not put up with any more slipups from Lohan, telling her, “This is known as putting the keys to jail in the defendant’s pocket … the first time you violate, you will go to jail.” Lohan will have to serve 12 days at the Los Angeles County morgue — where she’s already been logging some time — and then attend four therapy sessions by December 14. Sautner warned that if Lohan does not meet all those conditions, she will put a warrant out for her arrest and sentence her to an additional 270 days in jail. Sautner revoked Lohan’s probation in October following the revelation that the actress had not completed her obligations from a 2011 arrest on theft charges . What do you think of Lindsay’s return to the big house? Tell us on Facebook! This time around, Lohan will not have the option of serving her time at home , and given the overcrowding situation in L.A. jails, she is only expected to serve 20 percent of the 30 days, or around six days. She has to complete another 12 days at the morgue and four psychotherapy sessions by January 17 and complete her community service (53 days total) and therapy obligations by March 29. If she successfully meets those obligations, her probation will be over. Shockingly, TMZ also reported that Lohan was not immediately sent to jail because Judge Sautner decided to give her time to complete her nude photo shoot for Playboy magazine. Lohan lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley told the judge Lindsay must complete the shoot this week, which is reportedly netting her a cool $1 million. Lohan has one week to surrender and begin her fifth jail term, which is expected to start November 9.
