Kirk – is asked about JJ Abrams helming both the updated Star Trek franchise and Star Wars franchise. How does Shatner feel about the director? “He’s probably the most talented director of that ilk we have,” Shatner says, adding, however, that Abrams has “gone too far” and is actually “being a pig” these days. She may write about them, but Taylor Swift makes one thing very clear in the March issue of Elle : she does not spend her life going after members of the opposite sex. “I’m sure if I looked up the latest Google Alerts rumor it would say I’m chasing somebody who doesn’t like me as much as I like him, people love that angle on me,” she tells the magazine. “They’re like ‘Oh Taylor, coming on too strong again, chasing boys. I never chase boys. They don’t like it!’” Swift, of course, does pen tracks about those who dump her, however. But she says these singles are just “me sitting on my bed feeling pain I didn’t understand, writing a song, and understanding it better. If people want to dissect the lyrics, that’s their right, but it’s all coming from the exact same place as where I started. It’s just something I do to feel better.” How might Taylor Lautner feel about that? Or John Mayer? Or Harry Styles ? Who knows. But Taylor also says none of them has ever felt her wrath in a relationship. “I don’t think I’ve ever yelled at an ex-boyfriend. Ever. I’m not a yeller. I’m not a fit thrower. If something is done, it’s done.”
Amanda Knox is giving an interview to ABC News in April. The network says Knox will sit down with Diane Sawyer for a prime-time interview April 30, in which the infamous college student will finally tell her story. Knox, from Washington State, was studying in Italy when, in 2007, she became the center of the Meredith Kercher murder case, seizing the world’s attention. She was convicted in 2009, but appealed and was released in 2011. The interview is timed with the publication of Knox’s book, Waiting to Be Heard . Amanda Knox reportedly was paid $4 million by Harper Collins. Amanda’s former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito maintained the couple’s innocence in his own book, Honor Bound , which was published last fall. At the same time, Sollecito acknowledges that their sometimes bizarre behavior after Knox’s roommate’s killing gave police reason for suspicion. Sollecito, then finishing his undergraduate studies in computer science, says he met Knox at a classical music concert at the Universita per Stranieri. This was a week before Kercher’s death. He asked for her number, and she told him to come by the bar where she’d be working later that night. They took a walk, held hands and kissed. She accepted an invitation to come back to his apartment and spent the night; soon the couple became inseparable, spending more nights at his apartment. After Kercher’s death, Sollecito wrote about his first night in prison, saying he wavered between “great waves of indignation and a nagging sense of guilt.” While he knew he was innocent, he was angry at himself for having a foggy memory of the night of the killing because he and Knox smoked marijuana.
