Shakira Shakira didn’t release any major hits in the U.S. in 2015. But she gave birth and she’s married to a famous soccer player, so she was prominently in the news. 9. The Weeknd Few music fans had even heard of The Weeknd prior to 2015. It’s safe to say everyone knows who he is now. 8. Caitlyn Jenner Caitlyn Jenner certainly made the biggest change of any celebrity in 2015. She’s a woman now! Good for her! 7. Pitbull Pitbull is a man of many trades. He raps. He hosts awards shows. He produces. The guy is everywhere! 6. Drake We never want to see Drake dance to “Hotline Bling” ever again. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t make a big impact in 2015. 5. Well the moment has arrived, although we’re gonna leave it up to y’all to decide whether or not the internet has been broken or nah. Paper Mag just released the images along with a pretty great story on why Amber went all feminist on us this year. Here’s a shot of Amber as Rosie the Riveter: In the accompanying article she explains that she made the decision to cease being a “slut shamer, promote sex positivity and identify as a feminist following her split from Wiz: “I would look on [Wiz’s] Instagram and he would have pictures of all these women all over him… and then I would post a picture of me and my son. And people would be like, ‘Does your son know that his mother’s a whore?’” she says. “People are like, ‘Wiz is out f***ing mad bad b***hes and you’re at home crying over him because he’s the best thing that f***ing ever happened to you and now you’re just a fat, bald-headed single mother and no one will ever love you.’ So yeah, I guess months of seeing s**t like that, I was just like, ‘I can’t live like this. There’s something wrong.’” Yeah we could see how a double standard like that might make you change your views a bit…. Here’s Amber as Gloria Steinem and Dorothy Pitman Hughes Amber also tells PAPER that the first time she was called a “slut” was in the eighth grade at a party where she was playing Seven Minutes in Heaven with a group of classmates, and one of them took her in the closet and told her to get down on her knees. “That young, I didn’t know what [that] meant,” Rose pauses a second. “It just didn’t register. But he’s like, ‘No, no, I’m telling you, get down on your knees. I’ll show you something.’…And then he just opens the door, right?…And I look over at him and he has his p***s in my face, I’m on my knees — and still, girl, I swear to God, I swear on my son’s life, it still didn’t register to me why they were all gasping.” Rose says she was still a virgin and “had never even thought of giving head at that time,” she says of her introduction to slut-shaming and the lack of control women have over their own sexuality in our society. “I was so young. I fell into a depression. Everyone hated me. A few weeks ago, Amber Rose hosted a “slut walk” event that was supposed to be attended by all of her closest friends, several of whom were scheduled to take the stage. Blac Chyna was conspicuously absent from the proceedings, and shortly thereafter, it was announced that Amber and Blac’s reality show had been shelved, which of course led to rumors of a feud. We guess that’s all over with now: That’s Amber and Blac preparing to do…we’re not quite sure what in a bathroom together. There’s a lot to unpack here, including the fact that Blac is naked and Amber’s phone case appears to be shaped like a bottle of Windex. That might seem like an odd thing to notice when naked Blac Chyna is standing right there, but trust us – we’ve spent a long time studying this photo. We could probably sketch it from memory at this point. Anyway, Blac and Amber are clearly besties again, which is great, because Blac really use some gal pal support these days. It seems, Blac is dating Future , but the rapper is still openly banging other chicks. Blac says she knows the score and she’s cool with it, which doesn’t quite mesh with the the fact that she recently got Future’s name tattooed on her hand . ESPN Host Talks Amber Rose Shaming And Reality Of Double Standard While some folks find the idea of Amber Rose being hailed a feminist role model ridiculous, ESPN host Jemele Hill is recognizing the truth behind some of Roses’s statements and was very outspoken in her defense of Rose and “gold diggers” Friday on Twitter. There are lessons to be learned from the past, according to Amber Rose . “I feel like I’m in a position to give advice to women because I’ve made all of these mistakes,” Rose tells Time Magazine of her book, How to Be A Bad Bitch . “I am a mogul. I have a bunch of businesses, I’m now an actress, I’m an author, I went on an entire world tour and I don’t even sing. So if that doesn’t tell you that I am an entrepreneur, then I don’t know what does.” One of Rose’s lessons learned happened when it came time to file her 2011 taxes. “One of the biggest financial mistakes that I ever made was making a lot of money—I wanna say I made $1 million in 2011—and I spent all of it,” she recalled. “And then after that, I had to pay taxes, and I did not have money for the taxes, and I was like, ‘I cannot believe I did this.’ “And I really had to start over … I know a whole lot of people that don’t pay taxes. And it comes back to bite you in the ass. I mean, I literally had to persuade a man to give me money out of his pocket. And I apply that to my daily life. “Even getting a book, you have to have an initial meeting—Hi, Simon and Schuster!—with the publisher, and you have to sell yourself.” ““Really, fully research every aspect of the business that you’re trying to get into,” Rose says. “Explain to your friends that you won’t always be able to hit the club with them when you’re trying to save money. “If they’re your friends, they’ll respect it.” If they keep haunting you, this will shut them up right quick: “Tell them that you’re trying to save up for whatever it may be, and if they want you to come out with them then it has to be their treat .” The phone will go silent after that. Trust me. Then you’ll have all the time in the world to focus on your dreams. I have not found success with this next tip. To be fair, I never though to try it. “As women, we’re fortunate enough to use our seductive skills in order to be able to get money from our significant others,” Rose explains. “I also talk about seduction in the book. A lot of women don’t know how to seduce a man. Go on… “It is extremely easy once you get to that point, and you can get anything you want out of them,” Rose said. “And I know it might sound messed up, but once you get to that point, it’s not using. “It’s not using a man, it’s literally getting what you want by any means necessary.” Do you spend that money right away? Do you save up for a house? Where does the seduction money go , Amber Rose? Some weren’t pleased with the model’s advice, and made their feelings known via Twitter.
