Police confirm to MTV News that Dunn’s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania. The skater and stuntman had a blood alcohol level of .196 when he got behind the wheel on Monday; the legal limit in Pennsylvania is 08. A police official also confirmed that Dunn had been driving his Porsche upward of 130 mph when he crashed and died, along with his passenger, Zachary D. Hartwell . No other substances were found in his body. On Tuesday, police said the investigation into the crash that killed Dunn, 34, and Hartwell, 30, revealed that Dunn’s Porsche may have jumped a guardrail and crashed into a ravine before bursting into flames after the two men left the bar Barnaby’s of America in West Chester . A coroner’s report revealed that both men died of blunt force trauma from the impact of the wreck and burns from the resulting fire. While toxicology results may prove otherwise, an employee of Barnaby’s told MTV News earlier this week that, the night before the crash, Dunn “didn’t seem intoxicated. He seemed like he was having a good time, hanging out with his friends.” The Barnaby’s worker further noted that Dunn “only had a couple beers here. As far as we’re concerned, the biggest thing, our hearts go out to the family and friends, and his loss is a big loss to our community. ‘Jackass’ star killed in car crash stayed ‘real,’ say patrons of the Pennsylvania bar where he was last seen. By Mary J. DiMeglio Ryan Dunn Photo: Getty Images WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania — In Ryan Dunn’s adopted hometown, the “Jackass” star is remembered, not for his celebrity status, but rather for his ability to remain modest despite living in the limelight. When MTV News visited Barnaby’s of America in West Chester’s quaint downtown business district — the last place Dunn was seen before his fatal car crash early Monday morning — the bar’s patrons praised the fallen daredevil for never letting fame go to his head. As TVs showed a Phillies game and a guitarist strummed acoustic renditions of tunes ranging from Arcade Fire to Britney Spears, customers shared their memories of a neighbor who seemingly everyone in town had the chance to meet. “He was real,” said Sam Ford, who was celebrating her 25th birthday at Barnaby’s. With Dunn’s accident in mind, Ford said she and her boyfriend, Brock Jackson, would be taking a cab home that night. (Police have yet to determine whether alcohol played a role in Dunn’s death.) Jackson, 31, said he grew up playing Little League with Bam Margera and that Christopher Raab, (a.k.a. “Raab Himself”) an original member of Bam’s CKY stunt crew and the “Jackass” cast, was his best friend growing up. “I can’t even tell you how crushed he is,” Jackson said of Raab. Jackson said Dunn, who was 34, had “truly kind eyes” and “a heart and a half.” He was especially impressed by the well-known resident’s memory, saying, “He remembered every time he met somebody.” Around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, Dunn’s 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 flew through 40 yards of trees before hitting one and bursting into flames. West Goshen Police Chief Michael Carroll told Radar Online the Porsche was traveling at about 130 mph in a 55 mph zone when it collided with a guardrail. Jon Gurten, who grew up watching the “Jackass” crew’s antics, drove about 35 miles from Philadelphia on Tuesday to visit the rural crash site. “Just being local, it was weird how it hit you,” Gurten said of Dunn’s death. “We don’t know the guy, but he seemed like a normal dude doing good for himself.” Seeing the “long distance of trees that was ripped apart,” Gurten also witnessed a visit from Margera, who placed a candle near the already-replaced guardrail. Robert Moyer, 32, said at least 50 people were paying their respects when he stopped by the site Monday afternoon as police investigated amid the stench of burning wood and plastic. Moyer said Dunn shook his hand and “acted like a normal guy” when the two crossed paths at West Chester’s T.G.I. Friday’s. “He wasn’t trying to throw his money down or act like a big shot. He didn’t have a chip on his shoulder,” Moyer recalled. “He said, ‘Thanks for the support. Thanks for watching my movies.’ ” Hailing from the Pocono Mountains region of Pennsylvania, West Chester University student Kait Sabo, 21, attested to the attention Dunn and his cohorts have brought to her new home. “When I say I go to West Chester, they associate it with ‘Jackass,’ and I’m from three hours away,” she explained. “They cheated death a lot,” Sabo said of the show’s stars. “You have to stop pushing your limits and realize death is a possibility.” Her friend, West Chester native Christy Colflesh, called Dunn a “down-to-earth, totally awesome guy” who never refused a request to pose for photographs with fans. She said at least 20 cars lined the street near the crash site on Tuesday afternoon, and some visitors collected bits of trees and whatever scraps they could find of the shattered Porsche. “So many people loved him,” she said, referring to the plethora of Ryan Dunn memorial pages that have cropped up on Facebook in the past few days. “People stand up for him.” The Chester County coroner’s report lists blunt force trauma and thermal trauma as the official causes of death for Dunn and his passenger, 30-year-old Iraq vet Zachary Hartwell , who was credited as a production assistant on “Jackass Number Two.” Hours before the crash, Dunn tweeted a photo of himself, Hartwell and another man at Barnaby’s. Toxicology results, which might help determine whether alcohol was involved in the crash, will be released in four to six weeks, the coroner’s office said. A Barnaby’s employee told MTV News on Monday afternoon that Dunn “didn’t seem intoxicated.” Dunn appeared on the MTV shows “Jackass” and “Viva La Bam” and the three “Jackass” big-screen adaptations. He was the star of his own short-lived MTV show, “Homewrecker,” and co-hosted the brand-new G4 show “Proving Ground,” which has been pulled off the network’s schedule. After he labeled U.S. President Barak Obama a “terrorist” and questioned U.S. foreign policy, the Chicago rapper appeared on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” on Monday to duke it out with conservative political pundit Bill O’Reilly. Though it was thoroughly hyped before its broadcast, the five-and-a-half-minute pre-taped debate was a bit of a letdown for Rap Radar’s digital content director, Brian “B. Dot” Miller. “The thing is it wasn’t live; Lupe probably said a whole lot of things that were edited,” Miller said. “But the points that were expressed, I felt like he had a good argument. I wish it could’ve gone on a little bit longer, but that’s the power of TV.” Adam Fleischer, XXL magazine’s music editor, also agreed that the way the debate was edited detracted from the end result. “I’m glad that he went on because O’Reilly just calls out rappers a lot, [and] then they don’t usually get a chance to speak for themselves,” he said. “[But] I would like to see the whole interview because it was so clear that things were chopped up. They were switching from clip to clip.” Vibe magazine Senior Editor Clover Hope, on the other hand, didn’t mind the segments, though she, too, is interested in seeing what was left on the cutting-room floor. “I didn’t really notice [the editing] too much. I wish they would’ve pointed it to the Web though,” she said. After Lupe made those controversial comments about Obama and declined the TV host’s initial invitation to appear on his Fox show, ‘O’Reilly called the rapper a “pinhead.” But last night Lupe stood strong, clarifying, then defending his position. “The statement that I made, which was, ‘I believe that the biggest terrorist, Obama and the United States of America and its foreign policy, that was what the whole context of everything was,” Lupe pointed out on the show. “And it’s really just an expression of me trying to understand critically, the society.” O’Reilly, who is often critical of the president, came to Obama’s defense, saying that Lupe’s fans aren’t “exactly political science PHDs,” but rather “impressionable kids.” O’Reilly added that the responsibility of the president is to protect the country and that Obama was doing that through “aggressive action.” Both agreed that the death of Osama Bin Laden was a legitimate action. Fiasco went on to assert that the aim of the war in Afghanistan was to go in and find Bin Laden, which O’Reilly then charged was in effect an oversimplification of the war. “I thought he actually did a good job of holding his own and clarifying that point that he just wasn’t talking about Obama, just America as an institution,” Hope said about Lupe’s overall performance. “I just think it’s too complicated to reduce it to ‘Lupe thinks Obama is a terrorist.’ ” The debate wrapped on a light-hearted note when O’Reilly and Lupe joked about changing the show’s name to “The Fiasco Factor.” “I don’t think one necessarily got the best of the other,” Fleischer said. “O’Reilly had home-court advantage so he kind of controls the narrative, but Lupe held his own.” “I don’t think anybody necessarily won that debate,” Hope agreed. “They kind of both talked.” What did you think of Lupe’s performance on the Fox News show? At the time, [three years ago], I was looking at taking a residency in America. I looked at New York and Los Angeles, but I felt Vegas was the place,” Oakenfold told MTV News when we visited him in his Fantasy Suite at Vegas’ Palms Hotel. “I always saw Vegas in the same respect as I saw Ibiza: young, fun people wanting to have a really good time, coming to this place from all over America and the world, letting their hair down and enjoying themselves. That’s really the premise of what Ibiza was and still is; people going on vacation and having a great time, and that’s what Vegas is.” As Oakenfold enters the third year of his residency at Rain nightclub , the dance icon is also gearing up for the iTunes release of his latest mix compilation album, Never Mind the Bollocks … Here’s Paul Oakenfold (an apparent nod nod to the 1977 Sex Pistols album), featuring cuts from Daddy’s Groove and Little Mark, Infected Mushroom, a compilation with Marco V and a flurry of remixes under Oakenfold’s Perfecto and Perfecto Fluoro imprints. “In anything you do you need a balance. It’s really important for me,” he said of Bollocks, which caters to the underground sound that made Oakenfold a staple in the club scene. “My artist album, Pop Killer, is focused on more mainstream,” he said of the record due to drop in early 2012. “It’s playing to American beats with great songs and great singers.” The upcoming Pop Killer will feature the likes of Cee Lo Green, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Ryan Tedder of One Republic, among others. “Those collaborations fell naturally in place,” he explained. “What I love about America [is that] the great song writers are here and the great singers are here. I wanted to work with those people in some way shape or form. So the idea of my album was to do cutting-edge rhythm with those collaborations. MTV News can confirm that 34-year-old Dunn was hanging out with his friends at the bar Barnaby’s of America in West Chester, Pennsylvania, before he died. “Apparently, he was himself; he didn’t seem intoxicated. He seemed like he was having a good time, hanging out with his friends,” a Barnaby’s employee told MTV News on Monday afternoon. Dunn had tweeted a photo of himself, which has since been pulled, hanging out at the West Chester bar before he fatally crashed his car. The Barnaby’s worker further noted that Dunn “only had a couple beers here. As far as we’re concerned, the biggest thing, our hearts go out to the family and friends, and his loss is a big loss to our community. He was always quiet and kept to himself.” According to a press release and police report posted online, Dunn was identified as the driver of the 2007 Porsche, which belonged to the “Jackass” star. Another unidentified passenger also died in the crash. According to the report, speed may have contributed to the accident. When police arrived on the scene, Dunn’s vehicle was on fire and in the woods. Local police hadn’t responded to MTV News’ request for further comment by press time, despite several phone calls to the West Goshen Township police department. Dunn’s G4 show “Proving Ground” has been pulled off the schedule, a network rep confirmed to MTV News. According to the rep, “The show has been suspended from air until further discussions can take place.” In a previous statement, the network said, “All of us at G4 are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic news that Ryan Dunn has passed away. Ryan’s comedic wit and signature no-holds-barred approach made him an incredible talent and his work as host of G4’s Proving Ground was flawless.
