Summit Entertainment still has the final two installments of The Twilight Saga to bring in untold fortunes , but that doesn’t mean the studio isn’t thinking ahead. The Los Angeles Times reports that Summit is looking to make The Last Witch Hunter its next big franchise. The script — about a man who hunts witches and warlocks — was on the Black List in 2010, and the studio has apparently met with Breck Eisner to discuss directing. No casting yet — though Vin Diesel has reportedly expressed interest — but expect Charlie Sheen to throw his hat in the ring soon. Dude is a real-life warlock hunter. [ LAT /24 Frames ]

T-Pain and will.i.am also will voice characters in ‘Terry Unmarried.’ By James Dinh Theodore (voiced by T-Pain) and Bernard (voiced by Will.i.am) with Rallo (voiced by Mike Henry) on “The Cleveland Show” Photo: FOX Justin Timberlake is no stranger to lending his voice to animated characters. The singer-turned-actor, who celebrated his birthday Monday (January 30), recently hit the big screen as Boo-Boo Bear in the CGI film adaptation of “Yogi Bear.” And in just a few weeks, fans will be able to catch JT voice a different kind of character in an upcoming episode of “The Cleveland Show,” airing February 20 at 9:30 p.m. on Fox. According to a press release, Timberlake’s guest-starring episode will be called “Terry Unmarried” and revolve around two big revelations in Cleveland’s personal life. Things take a turn when Cleveland discovers that his wife, Donna, never legally divorced her ex-husband, making their marriage illegitimate. Soon after, he finds out that his best friend, Terry, is gay and has been dating a man named Paul (voiced by Timberlake). With the recent developments, the foursome decides to travel to Vermont for a double wedding ceremony. The episode also will feature Theodore (T-Pain) and Bernard (will.i.am) explaining to Cleveland’s stepson Rallo why he should break a nasty habit. In October, Fox reps confirmed to MTV News that Timberlake will voice two characters : Paul, the boyfriend of Terry, and a “singing booger,” appropriately named Booger, who belongs to Rallo. Even though the episode has yet to air, the pop star has already earned himself a fan in “Cleveland” creator Rich Appel. Speaking with Us Weekly, the writer raved about the star’s voice appearance, gushing, “Justin is just hysterical!” Back in December, JT spoke about his decision to primarily focus on his long list of Hollywood projects . “They’re looking at me like, ‘Why aren’t you staying with one path?’ ” the star told the Los Angeles Times , referring to fans’ criticism to his shift in career avenues. “They look at me like I’m ungrateful for my music career because I want to do film.” Are you excited to see JT on “The Cleveland Show”? Talking with the Los Angeles Times , William H. Macy explained his new Showtime series , Shameless , and his character Frank Gallagher, a drunk layabout who is nonetheless charming. Macy casually reveals that he used to babysit a young Joan Cusack back in his Chicago theater days, and Cusack now plays his love interest. If it’s anything like the British series, their sex scenes will be extraordinarily explicit ( pegging ahoy!), but knowing that Macy used to watch Cusack in her pigtails and ribbons phase adds an extra layer of creepiness. Fans ‘look at me like I’m ungrateful for my music career because I want to do film,’ JT says. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Timberlake Photo: Kevork Djansezian/ Getty Images Justin Timberlake keeps finding box-office success with roles in animated flicks like “Yogi Bear” . And with so much buzz around his film “The Social Network,” in which he plays Napster founder Sean Parker, you might think that Timberlake has left the world of music behind for Hollywood. But JT knows that you want him to put out more music. “They’re looking at me like, ‘Why aren’t you staying with one path?’ ” he told the Los Angeles Times, referring to his fans’ response to his shift in careers. “They look at me like I’m ungrateful for my music career because I want to do film.” Timberlake explains that he always wanted to act, even before selling millions and millions of albums with ‘NSYNC, and he admits that when he left ‘NSYNC fans were just as riled up when he embarked on his hugely successful and now revered solo career. “I faced the same feelings when I went solo,” he explained. “I had the same obstacles in music. I still do. But I feel like I should pose the question to everyone else: If you had this opportunity, what would you do with it? Entertaining is in my blood. I make no bones about the fact that I have always wanted to work in the forum of film. I take this seriously. I’ll be 30 in January, and I’m saying to myself, ‘If I’m going to do this, I need to do it now.’ ” What it boils down to for Timberlake is that he doesn’t just want to be famous at whatever he does — he wants to do it and see what happens regardless of the fan response. “I don’t know what a pop ‘career’ is. I just wanted to be in music,” Timberlake said. “I don’t necessarily crave to be a movie star. I just want to be an actor. I don’t look at it as a career — I just feel lucky. That’s not to say I’m going to take every opportunity that comes up. But now I have more chance to plot out a path.” Timberlake says that when the time is right and he can make it work for him again, he’ll go back to recording music. “I want to conceptualize something a little bit more,” he said. “And it’s probably because of the experience I’m having working with directors and screenwriters and getting to play cool characters. If that means I come up with, like, my version of ‘Ziggy Stardust,’ so be it. Who knows? What I’ve learned from acting in movies, I want to apply to music and see what happens.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Justin Timberlake MTV Rough Cut: ‘The Social Network’ Related Photos Acting, Log-Rolling, Quilting: Justin Timberlake Can Do It All Related Artists Justin Timberlake

Leave it to somebody from the American Enterprise Institute to figure out what's really wrong with the economy. Kevin Hassett, AEI's director of economic-policy studies, was an adviser to John McCain in his bid for the presidency. He writes, Your Fat Paycheck Keeps Your Neighbor Unemployed: ( http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-09-07/your-fat-paycheck-keeps-your-neighbor-u… ) > So here comes the leap into ice-cold water: The biggest problem with the labor > market right now is that wages are too high. As Washington again turns to > government spending as a cure for unemployment, some against-the-grain thinking > is in order. > Economics teaches that full employment would be reached if wages adjust > downward, to a level that better reflects current circumstances. At lower wages, > employers would desire more workers. Labor markets generate persistent > unemployment only if wages are sticky, failing to fall as demand declines. So why aren't American workers eagerly joining this race to the bottom, according to Hassett? Because of the minimum wage. Because of the damned unions. Because of extended unemployment benefits. Because of an unwillingness to pull up stakes and move. And, besides not understanding Economics 101, all those silly people have psychological issues: > …the natural reluctance of workers to accept lower pay is amplified by how their > wage helps define their identity. A $60,000-a-year office worker might have an > extra-hard time coming to terms with becoming a $40,000-a-year worker. Hassett fails to point out how many workers have already taken pay-cuts, often in the guise of furloughs. Nor is he volunteering to take a one-third cut in his pay. Nor, you'll notice, does he have anything to say about big-time CEOs or others among the top 10 percent taking a hit on their paychecks at a time when income inequality has given the United States a rich-poor ratio of a banana republic. No surprise. As a colonel in the class war, providing philosophical protection for the top tier is in his job description. No matter how disastrous actually carrying out his prescription would be. As Tom Petruno at the Los Angeles Times points out( http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/money_co/2010/09/pay-cuts-kevin-hassett-american… ), the plan would lead to deflation with consumers buying less than before at the very time that small businesses note that their biggest problem is weak sales. Which is why they're not hiring. Does Hassett actually want to worsen the vicious circle? Who knows. At least he's not proposing another tax cut for the rich as a solution to the deficit. Gotta save that for next week's column. added by: toyotabedzrock
