Sleeves, sequins and hot guys rule Globes red carpet. By Jocelyn Vena Natalie Portman at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards Photo: Getty Images If the Golden Globes are the Oscars’ more casual sister, nobody told Hollywood: Celebs went ultra glam at the show on Sunday (January 16). Sure, all the guys looked dapper in their suits, but a slew of young Hollywood’s newest studs really turned up the fashion charm. Justin Bieber looked like the perfect prom date in his tuxedo with tie, vest and kicks. He completed the look with purple 3-D glasses, and his date for the night was “Never Say Never” director Jon Chu. Looking equally posh was Robert Pattinson in his sleek black Gucci suit. Shout-outs to Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Gosling , who looked perfectly dashing in their tuxes. For photos of all the stars on the Golden Globe red carpet, click here. The ladies rocked the sequins. “Tron” actress Olivia Wilde dazzled in her sparkly, hoop-skirted gown by Marchesa, but her bed-head was a bit too casual for the look. Anne Hathaway went for full-on beading in her floor-length taupe gown by Armani. Meanwhile, Megan Fox , also in Armani Priv

‘While ‘Alien’ was indeed the jumping-off point for this project, out of the creative process evolved a new, grand mythology,’ director tells Deadline. By Kara Warner Ridley Scott Photo: 20th Century Fox Ever since news broke that Ridley Scott would be revisiting his famous “Alien” franchise in the form of a prequel, the Internets have been a buzzing with rumors, analysis, etc. There have been a slew of actors and writers rumored to be attached to the film , including Keanu Reeves and Natalie Portman, writer John Spaihts and a rewrite from “Lost” genius Damon Lindelof. What we know so far is that the film will be set 30 years prior to the original “Alien,” and on Friday (January 14) came word that it isn’t so much a prequel as something “more original,” according to a Deadline report. The film has an official title, “Prometheus,” and release date, March 9, 2012. Swedish actress Noomi Rapace (“Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”) has signed on to star as Elizabeth Shaw, one of two female leads. The rest of the cast is said to be filled out “soon,” with Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron both said to be interested in jumping on Scott’s expectedly epic return to sci-fi filmmaking. Scott once told MTV News that he “avoided sequels, unless [he] felt there was something fresh,” and judging from what he’s doing with “Prometheus,” the new film will be just that. “While ‘Alien’ was indeed the jumping-off point for this project, out of the creative process evolved a new, grand mythology and universe in which this original story takes place,” he said. “The keen fan will recognize strands of ‘Alien’ ‘s DNA, so to speak, but the ideas tackled in this film are unique, large and provocative. I couldn’t be more pleased to have found the singular tale I’d been searching for, and finally return to this genre that’s so close to my heart.” Lindelof said what lured him in was Scott’s original vision for the film: “It’s daring, visceral and, hopefully, the last thing anyone expects,” he said, adding that working with the Oscar winner is a dream come true. “When I sat in a movie theater as a kid, feet raised off the floor for fear that something might grab my ankles, I never dreamed in my wildest imagination I would one day get to collaborate with the man responsible for it. Working alongside him has been nothing short of a dream come true.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Top 50 Most Popular Women On The Web – Justin Bieber Included? Entertainment | Anthony McJagger | November 7, 2010 12:28 pm COED has just released a list of the top 50 most popular women in the web. They based it on the search engine Google which makes it kind of very accurate. The fans would want this either, as they can also see their idols in the list. As you can see, the list should be composed of just women, but why is Justin Bieber included there? Many are asking this question upon noticing a boy made it in the list, and guess what, he’s #7 on the list. Topping the list was Lady Gaga at #1, Ke$ha at #2, and Madonna at #3. As for the 50 Most Popular Women on the Web that Justin Bieber beat out? That list includes Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift, Oprah, and Michelle Obama, to name a few. Apart from Lady Gaga at the top the next four spots were taken by Ke$ha, Madonna, Beyonce and Rihanna. Other prominent females on the web such as Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Oprah Winfrey were all ranked on the list but all below Justin Bieber! Robert Dougherty over on Associated Content has also reported on this Top 50 list and tells us that Lady Gaga had 229 million page mentions according to Google. Although this list came out 2 months ago it has only just struck prominence and we wonder why more mention about Justin Bieber being on it wasn’t made at the time.

‘Bourne’ director is reportedly close to being signed for the movie. By Eric Ditzian Angelina Jolie in “Alexander” Photo: Warner Bros. For a hot minute, it appeared as though James Cameron would be switching up his directorial itinerary, sweeping into the world of ancient Egypt and helming the Angelina Jolie-starring “Cleopatra” before jetting back to Pandora for his “Avatar” sequels. Now it seems that Paul Greengrass — who, for a similarly hot, similarly short minute, was circling the director’s chair for the Cameron-produced “Fantastic Voyage” — will be taking on directing duties for “Cleopatra,” the 3-D adaptation of the current New York Times best-seller, “Cleopatra: A Life.” Deadline is reporting that producer Scott Rudin has said “we’re pretty close” to signing a director for the project and that sources tell the website filmmakers “like the idea” of Greengrass for the gig. Jolie, though, hasn’t yet discussed the possibility of Greengrass, who left the “Bourne” franchise late in 2009. “I hope to one day [play her], but we don’t have it all together,” Jolie told MTV last month about the film. “All the pieces are not together.” Sony is said to be eyeing a production start in 2011 and readily acknowledges that the budget will be massive. Rudin described the script, which has been penned by Brian Helgeland (who also wrote the “Green Zone,” which Greengrass directed) and is based on Stacy Schiff’s biography, as presenting “a completely revisionist Cleopatra, a much more grown-up, sophisticated version.” “She’s not a sex kitten, she’s a politician, strategist, warrior,” he went on to explain. “In the Joseph Mankiewicz movie, Elizabeth Taylor is a seductress, but the histories of Cleopatra have been written by men. This is the first to be written by a woman. It felt like such a blow-the-doors-off-the-hinges idea of how to tell it, impossible to resist.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

The new year is coming faster than you did the first time you had sex. Nothing like an inspiring Angelina Jolie and family in Nambia picture to put you in the mood to make a difference in 2011….you know to put all of yourself into a cause and by all of yourself…I mean absolutely none of yourself….cuz if this bitch was really selfless and about making a difference, she probably wouldn’t have 14 million dollar houses around the fucking world….she is bullshit and I hope one of her Aids babies gives her Aids to rid the world of the real cancer that is her constant fucking bullshit….Inspiring….
