Cynical, jealous haters will continue to conjure up arguments against her. Tabloids will continue to quote anonymous sources and paint her as a mega bitch . But THG will continue to look at actual facts and hammer home one simple point: Angelina Jolie is a true role model. The actress has recently spent time in Haiti and opened a school for refugee returnees in Afghanistan. Her latest act of charity and good will? Touring Bosnia and Herzegovina, where Jolie and Brad Pitt sat with people that have been struggling since that area’s civil war ended in 1995. “[I am] so inspired by these families,” Angelina said. “Despite the grim realities of their unsettled existence, they have an incredible determination to make a better future for their children.” Approximately 117,000 people are still displaced by the aforementioned war, including the women seen below, who reside in a collective center Monday in Rogatica, Bosnia. Jolie, a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador since 2001, spoke with staffers from the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to help assist with plans of action for those suffering from a lack of basic needs. “I hope we can find solutions for the remaining tens of thousands of displaced people… only then can we really close one of the most tragic chapters in modern history,” she said. “[I hope] to return to this beautiful country soon and meet with political representatives to further discuss the solutions that are so badly required.” Go ahead and hate, cynics. Playing the role of UN Ambassador, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were in the former Yugoslav republic today following a visit to Bosnian refugees. Pitt is no stranger to Montenegro as he filmed one of his first films there in 1988, The Dark Side of The Sun. The Hollywood power couple were in Bosnia Monday to visit internally displaced Bosnians still living in collective centres, often in appalling conditions, 14 years after the end of the war. Jolie is a goodwill ambassador for the UN’s refugee agency UNHCR. The actors are due to fly back to Italy later on Tuesday so that Jolie can continue work on The Tourist .

Couple news: Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez are over; Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato went public; Taylor Swift and Cory Monteith might be dating; Ditto for Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy; Robsten eloped (on April Fools Day). Wedding bells: Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy tied the knot . Baby news: None from Beyonce and Jay-Z, thankyouverymuch. Police blotter, etc.: Jason Wahler was charged with DUI again; Shaq is being sued for harassment by mistress Vanessa Lopez ; Dwayne Wade’s wife says he gave her an STD; Dennis Hopper’s wife may be trying to kill him. Angelina Jolie has impressed PETA with her interest in animal welfare and they now want her for one of their campaigns. The 34-year-old star was recently spotted out in Venice with a handbag made out of horse-hair sparking concerns that horses may have been harmed in its making but it is claimed she had her stylist confirmed that the bag had been made without harming any horses before donning the accessory. “Angelina has proved time and time again to be a kind of person – most recently when she insisted that the fur coat that she wore in Salt be faux. So it comes as no surprise that she was concerned about the origins of the horse-hair that he uses, since horse-hair ordinarily comes from horses killed violently in slaughterhouses.” Asked if they would be interested in her endorsing a campaign, the rep said: “Anytime, anywhere!” That would be a huge coup for PETA as their last few celeb campaigns have been very B-list.

That Angelina Jolie bodyguard story from yesterday – in which the dude accuses her of being a heartless psycho bitch – can’t possibly be true can it? If you missed it, In Touch Weekly allegedly got one of Brad and Angie’s former employees to spill the dirty beans about his, um, domineering ex-boss. Brangelina and other stars presumably have their employees sign confidentiality agreements, which if he broke, he’d be in for one hell of a lawsuit here. That said, are the things he says so far-fetched? “Bill the bodyguard,” as he’s referred to, dishes that Jolie has a bit of a different persona between what the public sees and what goes on behind closed doors. Who is the real Angelina Jolie exactly? Seeing as she’s a woman who complains about a lack of privacy, then flaunts PDAs with Brad and kids to silence the press, that’s not a huge stretch. He also alleges that her favorite method of punishment of the silent treatment, that she is unmoved by emotions and can switch moods in an instant. The moniker ” Arctic Angie ” and her legendary mood swings didn’t come out of nowhere, so there may be at least partial truth to that statement, too. She and Brad not boning anymore, and sleeping in different rooms? Believable. Laughing when her children cry, though? That may be a little much. In short, who’s to say what’s true and what isn’t when it comes to Brangelina. Something may be amiss, but as THG sees it only two things are certain: The mind games Ang plays haven’t driven Brad back to Jen … yet Bill the Bodyguard is about to feel the wrath of the Ice Queen
