Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are trying to work it all out. We’re not talking about their relationship. The marriage is over. There’s no hope for reconciliation. We’re sorry to be the one who have to tell you that. But there are plenty of issues for every couple who gets divorced to work out, even those who signed a pretty straightforward prenuptial agreement prior to exchanging vows. (You can watch the video above for more details on Brad and Angelina’s prenup, in case you’re wondering who gets what, exactly.) According to People Magazine, however, the main topic at the center of Pitt and Jolie’s ongoing negotiations is the estranged twosome’s six children. Specifically: who gets custody of them and in what sort of arrangement? When Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on September 19, she requested joint legal custody … but primary physical custody, with visitation for Pitt. Conversely, Pitt insiders have said the actor will push for shared physical custody of their children, who are : 15-year-old Maddox, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. It is Maddox with whom Pitt is accused of getting into an altercation of some kind on board a private airplane, just days prior to Jolie’s divorce filing. Brad Pitt Hasn’t Seen His Kids Since… Any custody agreement the stars reach will need to be signed off on by a judge in order to make ensure it’s in the best interests of the kids. At the moment, the two sides (or lawyers for the two sides, we presume) are simply meeting in private. “If Angelina and Brad reach an agreement on custody, the judge assigned to the case will be delighted that these parents were able to work out something that they can live with and that makes sense for the family,” certified family law specialist Stephanie Blum, of Reuben Raucher & Blum, tells People. She is not actually involved in the case, it’s worth noting. It seems very unlikely that these private negotiations will result in Jolie earning the sole physical custody she desires. Because why would Pitt simply agree to it? “It is extremely difficult to be granted sole custody in a California court, absent some egregious behavior that directly impacts the best interest of the minor children,” says Los Angeles family law lawyer Atousa Saei, also to People. But then the claims of child abuse came out against Pitt and it’s difficult to know what to think. Did he really attack Maddox, both verbally and physically? Does he really have a drinking problem? Some parts of those rumors either have to be true… or it has to be true that Jolie is out to destroy Pitt and has planted various stories herself. Both of those scenarios are pretty disturbing when it comes to one of the few couples in Hollywood that everyone thought would really make it. We guess it’s on you now, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. Don’t you dare ever breakup. We wouldn’t be able to handle it.

There are also the theories about Brad’s reported substance abuse issues , and on and on. But there’s a new report now … grab your tissues, because your heart and your tear ducts will surely struggle with this. Radar reports that Brangelina was “fine” until 2014, when she directed “Unbroken.” “It seemed like Angelina thought it didn’t get quite the reception she had expected,” an insider claims. “And that was just the beginning of the end for them.” This source goes on to say that their struggles continued with last year’s “By The Sea,” the movie that Angelina directed and starred in, along with Brad — the movie the source calls “a complete disaster.” “By The Sea,” if you’ll remember, didn’t do too well in the box office, nor was it a hit with critics. Its failure, the source says, was “the real reason that Angie moved to London. After the movie tanked, she wanted to get out of Hollywood.” Unfortunately, this report purports that “Brad never really made the move to London with her.” Apparently “Angelina moved there with the kids to focus on her humanitarian efforts,” but Brad “never wanted to go to London,” and the move “was her idea” in the first place. And that’s that. This version of events — which, by the way, is said to be from a “pal” of Brad’s — is pretty mellow compared to some of the other things we’ve heard this week . According to this story, Angelina couldn’t take a couple of career hits, so she pulled away from Brad, and they sort of drifted apart. A common story, but a sad one nonetheless. It’s pretty interesting and convenient how this little tale tries to place the blame on Angelina though, right? Look, facts are facts, and the facts here — the actual facts, not fun little stories like this — are pretty clear. Maybe it was abusive, maybe it wasn’t, but whatever it was was enough to make Angelina bring an end to a relationship that had lasted more than a decade. And maybe she did pull away from Brad after a couple of her movies didn’t do as well as she’d hoped, but does that excuse whatever it was exactly that Brad did? Probably not. So… how do you start your morning? With irritation at the alarm clock? With a hot shower you never want to leave? With a cup of coffee you slurp down before hitting the road? With a smile? Probably not, right? And almost definitely not the way Ron Alston and his three-year-old daughter, Aliyah, start their mornings everyday. In a Facebook video that has gone viral (to the tune of over 13 million shares!), Alston and his adorable child are simply standing in front of a mirror. But then you need to see what happens next: Dad and Daughter Share Morning Affirmation, Set Example for Entire Internet As you can see above, daddy is holding up daughter and smiling over her shoulder. He’s then making her repeat a handful of affirmations in order to instill in Aliyah a combination of self-confidence, respect and humility. I am strong , he says first, asking his young daughter to then follow suit. I am smart. I work hard. I am beautiful. I am respectful. I’m not better than anyone. Nobody is better than me. I am amazing. “What are you?” father then asked toddler, to which she replied: “I am blessed.” The loved ones then conclude their ritual with the following lines: “Thank you God for making me the greatest. There’s nobody better than me.” A high-five and a kiss follows and then it’s time to really start their day. Pretty amazing, right? The sort of thing we could all learn from, no? You don’t need to go through this daily routine, of course. But perhaps keep these words and these messages in mind on a regular basis and see how they improve your outlook on life. In an interview with Babble, Alston explained: “I want her to understand and experience the world from her perspective and then learn to cope with the feelings that come with each interaction. “I feel that the most important thing I do is encourage her to try.” Why did he film this and share it online? “I was inspired to film the moment between Aliya and I just so that she can see it later in her life when she is older. “This is something we do everyday in the morning before we leave the house, no matter what, although the affirmations do change and the pep talk in the beginning may change depending on what is happening or has happened.” Sorry, all other dads around the world. Though she has handled it like a champ, Aniston has been the source of “poor, abandoned wife” stories since Brad Pitt left her for his Mr & Mrs. Smith co-star, Angelina Jolie. Yesterday, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt after two years of marriage and twelve years as a couple. And though, we’ll never hear her give a statement on the news, those of us on Team Aniston are hoping she had at least one smug moment yesterday. According to Us Weekly she did. However, since she’s a classy broad, she did it behind closed doors with a “longtime pal.” “Yeah, that’s karma for you! ” Aniston reportedly told this pal. This is poetic justice for Aniston. Do you realize how many stories have been published that either blame her for Pitt’s wandering eye or the fact that she didn’t give him a child? Though Aniston has risen above the nasty headlines and moved on with husband Justin Theroux, there’s naturally a part of her that doesn’t feel all that sorry for her ex. “She always got the sense that something would happen with them eventually,” the source told the weekly publication. “She didn’t feel that Angelina was truly the one who Brad was meant to stay with. “She always felt that Angelina was too complex for him. He’s a pretty simple guy.” A second source added that Aniston “admittedly feels sort of satisfied about Brad and Angelina’s split,” but “never wanted this for them or wished this on them.” There’s a glimmer of hope for humanity when even your worst enemy/ex-wife doesn’t wish you any ill will. “Jen does wish Brad luck and the best. She feels like she’s happy, and she wants him to be happy too,” the source said. Ultimately, Jolie wanted a healthy environment for her family, and didn’t think Pitt was providing that.
