Dear Bossip: I’m Considering Waiting On Him To Get Married, Or Accepting A Job Offer Out Of State

Dear Bossip , I’m 26-years old, and the mother of two beautiful daughters ages 6 and 3 years old. My story, to keep it brief, is I met my kid’s father almost 7 years ago. Our relationship, you can say, went from zero to one hundred real quick. Within three months we were living together, and I was pregnant with our first child. I was completely in love with life. Everything was going great, so I thought. As years went on I started to notice he was verbally abusive. That later became physical, not just on his end but mine as well. I’m bipolar and I never told him. Once my anger reaches a point I go into a state where it becomes sometimes uncontrollably. I later left once I become more emotionally stable. Now, two years later we are still together, but still no ring. I’m ready for the next chapter in life. We both have changed, but he is still hesitant about the thought of marriage. So, now we are in year 7 and he always says, “Yeah, baby, we gonna get married it just takes time.” Or, he says,  “Baby, we gonna get married. We working on it, just take it one day at a time.” Which I understand, but at what point do I say no. No more waiting. We aren’t currently living together and I was recently offered a job out of state. I’m torn because I do love him and I do want us to be a family. But, I’m conflicted should I stay and wait? Leave and begin my new book as a single mother? – She Just Doesn’t Know Dear Ms. She Just Doesn’t Know , Accept the job offer and leave. Start over, begin a new life, and the new chapter in your life. You’ve been down this road of waiting on him. And, I’m sorry, but there are no pit stops along the way where you have to wait on a man, especially one who doesn’t think of you seriously, or your relationship. Ma’am, you’ve endured the abuse, on both of your ends, and, even though you mentioned things are better now, there is still no ring. So, why wait? Seven years later, and he still can’t make up his mind on whether or not he wants to get married? Uhm, no! This is not how this works. Why keep you on hold saying it takes time?  You’ve given him 7 years and a child. You’ve invested in him, and you’ve been through hell and back. But, you’re not worth it to get married despite everything you’ve gone through with him? Get the freak out of here! If it hasn’t gotten better now, it won’t. If he is waiting on some miraculous sign to give him the “a-okay” to get married, it’s not going to happen. And, what are you working on before you get married? Are you in pre-marital counseling? Is he getting help for his anger, and abusive behavior? Are you therapy for your bipolar, and have you told him since you’ve kept it from him? If you haven’t done any of the above that I just mentioned, then why get married? Seriously!?! There is no need to marry this man if neither of you are working on yourselves, in therapy, and getting the necessary treatment you both clearly need. Therefore, you’ll just be spinning your wheels if you stay there and continue waiting on him. MOVE! LEAVE! Here is the opportunity, a blessing in disguise, to move on, start a new chapter in your life, and begin anew. A window of opportunity has opened, hell, a door is being propped open, so why not take it? You won’t know until you do it! Simply do it and watch other miraculous blessings open up, and new things begin to appear. Take the chance. Go and do you and for the first time really, and I mean really get to know what happiness, self-love, love, joy, happiness, and peace will be like without him. This is the time to invest in you and your child. Make the investment. You can sit there and wait on him all you want. You can ask until you’re blue in the face. If he isn’t ready, then nothing will make him do what he doesn’t want to do. And, simply, he doesn’t want to get married. He’s shown you, told you, and continues to be about him. Sure, he may love you, but marrying you is not what he wants. So, love you and your child enough to walk away, chuck up the deuces and give this new life a try. You have nothing to lose. And, I’m sure he will want to come back and want to be all up in your face talking about marriage once you start talking about moving. Well, too late. He had his chance. Now, it’s time to do you. – Terrance Dean Hey Bossip Fam, what do you think? Share your opinions and thoughts below! SMH: Man Smacks Girlfriend In The Face With Anger Management Workbook Before She Cuts Him With Box Cutter

Clearly he wasn’t using that anger management book anyway… Man Hits Girlfriend With Anger Management Workbook Forget anger management classes, these two need Iyanla to fix their lives. According to NY Daily News: Spartanburg County deputies have arrested a man who they say hit his girlfriend with a workbook from his anger management class during an argument, and she cut his arm with a box cutter. A sheriff’s office incident report said 22-year-old Sheelah Thompson and her 23-year-old boyfriend Tyler Ford were fighting about their relationship Monday night at their Spartanburg apartment when Ford rolled up the book and hit his girlfriend on the cheek. Deputies say Ford had a deep cut on his arm. Thompson told an officer she cut her boyfriend because he tried to strangle her. Ford told a deputy his girlfriend cut him because she was angry after he hit her with the book. Both were charged with criminal domestic violence. Thank God this domestic dispute didn’t end with someone in a pine box.

James Franco Wears Lipstick, Directs Kenneth Anger In Daddy Music Video

It’s Tuesday afternoon, time to figure out what James Franco  has done today to merit our attention. Well, lookie here:  The Spring Breakers star has donned lipstick, eye shadow and a Rolling Rock cap to promote the release of the music video for “Love in the Old Days (Ted James 1999 Mix)”  by his band with fellow Rhode Island School of Design alumnus Tim O’Keefe.  Better yet, Franco directed the clip and cast one of his underground idols, Scorpio Rising filmmaker and Hollywood Babylon author Kenneth Anger as a theremin-playing occult priest.  Yeah, it’s that kind of freaky.  James Franco’s Band, Daddy: ‘Love in the Old Days (Ted James 1999 Remix)’ Music Video Interview magazine posted the exclusive on its website on Tuesday, and Franco released this statement about the clip: “Kenneth Anger has been an influence on me since I was first exposed to ‘Kustom Kar Kommandoes’ and ‘Scorpio Rising,’ but especially ‘Scorpio Rising,'” explains Franco. “When I went to NYU for film, I was always looking for ways to Anger up my films. My first one in particular, ‘The Feast of Stephen’ owes a lot to Anger, the way his camera transformed a gang of real 1960 bikers into homoerotic gods. In other films and projects I loved the way he took celebrity and the occult and fused them in [Sergei] Eisensteinian juxtapositions to achieve a greater, spiritual/aesthetic significance.” “I was asked to do project about a marriage,” Franco continues, describing the footage used in the video. “I wanted to do two marriages and call it ‘The Marriage of Heaven and Hell after Blake.’ I could think of no one better to preside over the marriage of Hell than Anger. He is a force. A fusion of art, pop-culture, magik and sex. He is the voyeur-king.” Franco certainly Angered up this video, which depicts an occult wedding ceremony at a strip bar and one helluva French kiss near the end. Call it Scorpio Settling Down .  See if you can name all of the different animal heads that the wedding guests are wearing. Or play a game with your kids and  ask them to name them. Addiction, Consequence, Redemption: Chris Nolan & Co. Talk ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ On Blu-Ray

“Why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.” Was The Dark Knight Rises the finale that Batman deserved and needed? On the new TDKR DVD/Blu-ray release (on shelves today), Christopher Nolan and his collaborators wax poetic about their Batman saga and shed light on what made Bruce Wayne’s rise, fall, and redemption such compelling material. “Every film has to be driven by a story,” says Nolan in the bonus feature “The Journey of Bruce Wayne” in which he offers up his personal take on the Batman mythos along with brother/screenwriter Jonathan Nolan, David S. Goyer, Christian Bale, and Hans Zimmer. “And story is driven by people, by characters, by the human face. What we recognize in it, what we’re attracted to, what we hope for, for that character — that relatability — is what drew me to Bruce Wayne’s story.” Nolan and his co-writers speak of Batman/Bruce Wayne in clinical terms: He’s depressed, addicted, and traumatized as the events of Batman Begins and moreso The Dark Knight give way to the confrontations of The Dark Knight Rises . “We tried to treat Batman – the Batman costume, the Batman personality — as if it were an addiction,” said Goyer. “He’s addicted to it; he’s addicted to the anger, that he’s addicted to the violence, that he’s addicted to the suit. It’s all he really lives for, how he was able to channel his anger and his energy is by being Batman and as long as there was something to push against he had a reason for existing, and now that the streets are relatively crime free he doesn’t have anything to push against, so he doesn’t have a purpose.” Bale puts it another way: “He’s not the most healthy of individuals.” The imperative for Nolan & Co.’s game-changing approach to superhero stories was, according to Jonathan Nolan, “being conscious of never straying too far from these being films about a man. There’s a city, there’s a rogue’s gallery, there are some amazing, compelling characters — but it’s really the story of a guy who decided to do something very unconventional, illegal, dangerous, out of a somewhat broken sense of righteousness and justice.” Behind-the-scenes looks abound on Warner Bros.’ comprehensive home video release, from a franchise-spanning Batmobile featurette to the plethora of making-of pieces that peel back the layers on the technical orchestration that went into TDKR ‘s explosive, epic production. But if you want to get to the heart of Nolan’s Batman — and the series that, starting with Batman Begins , ushered in a new era for the Caped Crusader and comic book movies for cinephiles and fanboys alike – this is the must-watch of the batch. As much as the bombast and drama of TDKR makes for a standalone watch, it was intended to fulfill a specific purpose: To question all that came before, and round out the complete three-film journey of its hero. “For the ending of The Dark Knight to have the validity of gravity it should have,” says Nolan, “it is important to have The Dark Knight Rises .” Read more on The Dark Knight Rises , on DVD/Blu-ray today.
