This hunting dog, who recently went out into the woods with his owner Rick, came across a drowning baby bird in the middle of the lake… so Jack jumped in, snatched up the young animal in his mouth and swam him ashore to safety. And, thankfully for us, Rick captured the amazing rescue on camera: Dog Saves Bird from Drowning “I hunt with my dog, but it was really cool to see that he knew the difference between a bird in distress and a bird that he is hunting,” Rick wrote on the video’s YouTube page. Following the rescue, Rick says he was able to place the baby bird back in its nest with its siblings. He then watched the mother fly back to take care of them. Three days later, all the birds remain in the nest, thriving. Pretty awesome, huh? Sometimes people rescue dogs and sometimes dogs rescue other animals. Facebook has allowed the “Kill Kendall Jones” community page to stay up, ruling upon review that it does not violate the social network’s community standards. This despite the fact that several of the now-infamous Kendall Jones hunting photos were taken down for violating the company’s policies regarding animal abuse. The 19-year-old cheerleader from Texas, an avid hunter, sparked plenty of outrage and admiration by posing with her trophy kills (see gallery below) last week. Facebook nixed a series of photos that showed her posing with a variety of animals, including a leopard and a lion, that she had shot on safari in Zimbabwe. The pictures were said to break a rule about “graphic images shared for sadistic effect or to celebrate or glorify violence,” as outlined by the company. Many Facebook users want to Kill Kendall Jones, however, and her father is livid that such content is allowed to stay up while her pictures are not. Cody Jones says he contacted Facebook, demanding they take down the “Kill Kendall Jones” page and its many posts and pics urging his daughter’s murder. He says Facebook shut him down , reviewing the page and determining that it didn’t violate standards, despite it being a takeoff of Kendall’s own postings. In fact, some of the exact photos she shared are still up in doctored form. The Kill Kendall page turns the tables on Jones, with the animals standing over a dead hunter (usually her). Somewhere, Joanna Krupa is smiling at this. Facebook says, “We remove content and may escalate to law enforcement when we perceive a genuine risk of physical harm, or a direct threat to public safety.” Apparently, they feel a page called Kill Kendall Jones doesn’t qualify. Veterinarian Charged After Keeping Dogs While Telling Owners They’d Died A shady Ohio veterinarian is now set to face charges and a possible lawsuit after keeping several dogs in his care under filthy living conditions for medical experiments…..even after he’d told the owners of the dogs that they had died. via Huffington Post In their petition filed in state court, the Harrises say that Tierce — their trusted, longtime veterinarian — kept Sid at the clinic for several months over the summer of 2013 while treating the dog for a “minor, anal-gland issue.” That fall, when the family went to collect their pet, they found him unable to walk. “He could not lift his hind quarters at all and simply slid himself across the floor to get to Mr. Harris,” reads the complaint. Tierce allegedly first told the Harrises that Sid was having a reaction to some medicine, then said X-rays had revealed a congenital spinal defect that was “degenerative and incurable.” (The family now believes that Sid was injured when a clinic employee flipped the dog onto his back.) The Harrises say the veterinarian advised them to euthanize Sid. They agreed, after being told the procedure would be painless and Sid would be buried on the Tierce family farm. On April 22, 2014, Mary Brewer, a veterinary technician formerly with the clinic, contacted the Harrises to tell them that Sid “(a) was still alive; (b) was being confined in a cage almost 24 hours a day in unsanitary conditions (typically being removed from his cage only once each day and for not more than 15 minutes); and (c) was being used for blood extraction,” according to the complaint. Brewer has also said that Sid and other animals had been used for medical experimentation, though no details have emerged, Eggleston tells HuffPost. “We trusted the vet. We said our goodbyes,” Marian Harris told ABC News. “We had even talked about burial arrangements, and then six months later I get a call that he’s still alive.” The family went to the clinic and recovered their dog. Another vet examined Sid, and concluded he’d been “abusively kenneled,” resulting in various ailments — mange and muscle atrophy among them. The new vet said it also appeared Sid had been used as a “regular blood donor” and determined the dog “definitively had no congenital spine defect,” according to the Harris’ complaint. Tierce was arrested at the end of April and charged with animal cruelty. The arrest warrant didn’t mention Sid. Instead, it detailed Tierce’s alleged cruelty to his own dog — a border collie police found in obvious pain with a missing foot, a dislocated leg and two dislocated shoulders. The dog was lying in a box on the floor of Camp Bowie, in what was described in the warrant as a “deplorable” environment, with animal organs in jars “throughout the clinic,” as well as “stacks of drugs, trash, laundry, paperwork” and insects in exam rooms. The border collie was euthanized after being taken away from Tierce, as were two other dogs. One of those dogs had been caged for as many as three years after the dog’s owners were told their pet was put down, Tierce reportedly said in a statement to the veterinary board. “The only criminal charges so far,” says Eggleston, “have been about his own dog.” This guy sounds like a grade A scumbag. Good thing he was caught.

A father and a mother gave their two kids the best Easter present ever last week. Chris Brown’s legal predicaments have gotten so confusing that they require a lengthy explanation to fully understand at this point. So here we go: Chris Brown Jailed Until at Least June After Trial Delay Brown has been on probation since accepting a plea deal in the 2009 attack on his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. That probation is set to end later this year. He was arrested last fall for assault in D.C. Because his probation requires him to obey all laws, a judge revoked his probation in the Rihanna case. However, after Chris pleaded not guilty to the D.C. attack on Parker Adams, a judge allowed him to seek treatment rather than sit in jail awaiting trial. He was kicked out of rehab and jailed in March, though, after violating the rules of the anger management rehab center he was assigned to by the court. In addition to its own legal ramifications, the D.C. case could lead to major penalties – potentially YEARS in prison – in the probation violation case. Ensnared in this tangled legal web, Brown has been shuttled from L.A. to D.C. via Con Air and now is heading back again in the custody of federal officers. The D.C. trial has been delayed because of the singer’s bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy , a key witness who was just convicted in the same incident. Hollosy says unless he is granted immunity, he will not testify in Brown’s case until he has exhausted the appeals process, which could take six months to a year. Franklin Burgess Jr. set a status hearing for the Chris Brown assault case for June 25, the same day as Hollosy’s sentencing. Until then, he will remain behind bars. L.A. Judge Victor Greenberg denied the request of Brown lawyer Mark Geragos to release him with the trial pending. Come June, he’ll be transported back to D.C. on Con Air again. Such is life for detainees who face criminal charges in two different U.S. jurisdictions. “I’m quite sure that Chris Brown would actually love not to be transferred via U.S. Marshal Service,” says Darren Kavinoky, an L.A.-based criminal defense lawyer. “I’m sure he’d much rather fly under his own power, via private jet, or even on a commercial flight in coach for that matter,” he adds … but that’s a no-go. Transporting prisoners via the Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System (better known by the nickname “Con Air”) is actually quite commonplace. JPATS transfers more than 350,000 prisoners and illegal aliens a year. The jets are owned or leased by the government and funded by the taxpayers. Kavinoky continues , “Since he’s in custody, this is standard operating procedure. It’s a common occurrence also with witnesses [for] cases other than their own.” In other words, Brown is not getting any special treatment here. Kavinoky adds, “This is not any sort of special celebrity treatment situation. Actually, I’d say that what’s happening here is the anti-celebrity treatment.” “Chris [is] getting a worse deal because the judge knows that the eyes of the world are upon him.
