Prepare yourselves for an extra special story about a cat and a dog. A couple weeks ago, we reported on a feline who adopted a pit bull and helped nurse it back to health. Now, we’re very proud to present Ruth the cat and Idgie the dachshund. They were found abandoned at the end of a driveway in Florida last October and Ruth is partially paralyzed; she gets around by dragging her body with her front paws. And they’re best friends. The animals have been adopted by Hollywood Houndz Boutique & Spa, where owner Jacqueline Borum says they get endless attention. “We’ve seen friendships between dogs and cats before, but never anything like this. Idgie would take a bullet for that cat,” says Borum in the following video, which chronicles this unexpected bond: Abandoned Dog Bonds with Cat
He couldn’t get any kitty kat so he got him some dog. Pizza Man Caught Having Sex With Dog This doesn’t make any sense. Surely if he was THIS sexually frustated he could have gotten some box. Poor dog. According to Mass Live: A Florida man is in trouble with the law after alleged sexual encounters with his roommate’s dog were caught on camera. According to the Tampa Bay CBS affiliate, WTSP-TV, 22-year-old Joshua Lee Werbicki, was arrested and charged with felony cruelty to animals and misdemeanor criminal sex act with an animal, after a hidden camera allegedly revealed he had sex with the dog. Published reports indicate Werbicki’s roommate became suspicious when the dog, a German Shepard mix, was limping around the house and became skittish when approached by humans. The roommate reportedly set up a hidden camera in the apartment he shared with Werbicki, which allegedly revealed the inter-species sex act. Brevard County Animal Services Sgt. Michael Healy told the news website FloridaToday.com that Florida law allows the possibility of a court-ordered injunction barring Werbicki from having future unsupervised contact with other animals, depending on the outcome of his court case. Werbicki was arrested at the Papa John’s on Minton Road in West Melbourne, Fla. where he worked. Further information on whether Werbicki was held or released on bail wasn’t immediately available Saturday afternoon. Disgusting. Brevard County Sheriff/Facebook
Here’s a silly video of a bull throwing a girl around like he owns her…you know like he’s her pimp and she hasn’t paid up…or like he saved her from a bus shelter and gave her a good life and she owes him for life…kinda thing…it made me laugh..cuz I like when Animals attack… If you don’t like that, here’s a video of how I feel every time I turn on the radio…and I hear a Katy Perry Song.
Earlier this year, a mother cat called Lurlene “adopted” a pit bull puppy called Noland and nursed the little canine back to health after he was abandoned. A humane officer stumbled upon the day-old pit bull covered in fleas in a Cleveland garage, and took the dog to the Cleveland Animal Protective League. There, the group decided to place Noland with Lurlene, who had also just been taken off the streets and had recently given birth to four baby kittens. Molly, Noland’s mother, was discovered later that day looking anxious and famished. She was unable to care for Noland herself, so he stayed with Lurlene. He made it through those difficult first few weeks. Eventually, he was placed in a foster home with puppies his age where he learned how to be a dog. He still visits his “mother” and “siblings” on occasion, however. As a result, the Cleveland APL, which rescued the pair, won a $25,000 grant from the Petco Foundation’s “Holiday Wishes Grant Campaign” contest. “Noland blended in with the family so well, he was even found using the litter box a few times,” Judy Hunter, APL’s director of development, wrote to Petco. Sharon Harvey, APL’s director, said the story of the dog and cat isn’t just ute, but emblematic of the “power of forgiveness and unconditional love and acceptance.” “That’s really what it’s all about, isn’t it?”
Sometimes I wonder whether there is something wrong with me…because I generally think humans are assholes who deserve to be taken out back and shot based on their stupidity alone…and I always side with the animals who fuck up the idiots who fuck with them… It’s a fucking win when some Tiger trainer gets fucked up by the tiger who has been abused by him for years and years when being trained to be his “dancing” monkey. This is a liberating feeling…like seeing a abused wife shoot her abusive husband in the face. It’s just too bad that the tiger will probably be the one shot, but at least he fought the good fight to bring down circus trainers and their stupid cruel business…. Here’s a dude trying to slaughter a pig, the kind of video that will make you want to go vegan, getting owned…even though you know that piggy didn’t last too long after. Go Animals.
It started with a shark cat on a Roomba . Then, a regular, non-costumed dog took a ride on this household cleaning appliance. And now the adorable phenomenon has taken off! It’s spread from kitchen to kitchen, hardwood floor to hardwood floor around the nation. Animals simply won’t stop riding Roombas, people! And it’s totally awesome. Watch a video compilation of these pets gliding around happily now: Animals Riding Roombas!
It is all over for Bryana Holly and Brody Jenner. The couple, who announced their relationship in June via a couple steamy beach photos , reportedly got into a fight at the Playboy Mansion on Halloween and have gone their separate ways. It’s unclear what caused the tiff, but Brody Jenner at the Playboy Mansion? We’re gonna go on a crazy limb here and say at least one other woman was involved. Brody Jenner Dumps Bryana Holly Jenner famously dated Avril Lavigne prior to Holly and has also been linked to a pair of fellow reality stars: Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari. Neither Jenner nor Holly have commented on their split, but Perez Hilton, Us Weekly and number of other outlets have confirmed the news. We each attractive side of this former couple nothing but the best.
This may be the most disgusting story in the history of… ever. A London native named Consi Taylor recently purchased a bundle of bananas. But when she prepared to enjoy a nice, potassium-filled snack, the 29-year old tells The Sun she thought she saw “mold” on the peel… only to realize it was something much, much worse. “I had a closer look I saw some funny looking spots and was horrified to see they were spiders,” Taylor says . “They were hatching out on the table, scurrying around on my carpet.” And these weren’t just any spiders. After sending a photo of the critters to a pet control specialist, Taylor learned they were Brazilian wandering spiders, extremely aggressive/venomous creatures certified as “the most toxic” by Guinness World Records. As a result, Taylor, her husband Richard, and their two little kids were forced to evacuate their home until it was thoroughly fumigated. The store from where Taylor purchased the nearly deadly items has apologized and stated it has “rigorous controls on imported products at all stages,” but Taylor won’t be taking chances in the future. “I hope I didn’t eat one but I can’t be sure,” she says. “I now have a phobia of buying bananas. We don’t know whether they’ve all gone.”
We have another inspiring story of a pit bull who refused to give in to the abusive actions of its owner. And the good folks who helped save him. Earlier this month, we shared the tragic/happy tale of a dog who ran away from home and was taken in by an owner who did not return her due to clear signs of abuse. A handful of generous donations later and the canine was on a path to recovery. Pitbull Gets Rescued from Sewer Now we cut to St. Louis where a dog was abandoned by its owner and stuck in a sewer for four days. After an animal control officer actually gave up when he failed to initially free the pet, neighbors gathered together and continued the fight on their own. They enlisted the assistance of an organization known as Stray Rescue and slowly but surely coaxed the scared pit bull toward them. “We were finally able… to get him to come out far enough to give him the little sleepy drugs and that’s about it,” said Donna Lochmann with Stray Rescue, explaining how they calmed the animal down and eventually, finally pulled him to safety after four subterranean days. The pit bull is now recuperating at a local animal shelter – and the person who left him behind is hopefully suffering from food poisoning or something right about now.
We all know Oreos are addictive, but a new study suggests that the cookies are as addicting as actual drugs … at least in the way the brain responds to them. The “pleasure center” of the brain, the nucleus accumbens, apparently gets just as activated in response to Oreos as it does to cocaine and morphine. Oreos: Addictive! That could certainly have some pretty major public health implications if Oreos were as damaging to one’s system as the aforementioned narcotics. They’re not, of course, and the study was only done in rats. However, the Connecticut College authors say it’s likely relevant to humans as well. It could explain, they say why people have such a hard time resisting eating an entire sleeve of the cookies after they’ve set out just to eat one. The study, to be presented at the Society for Neuroscience’s annual conference, also claims that rats, like humans, like to eat Oreo’s creamy center first. To test how the animals responded to Oreos vs. drugs, the team trained mice to navigate a maze. On one side, Oreos were provided. On the other? Rice cakes. As you’d guess, the rats were more likely to spend time on the Oreo side. Rats treated with morphine or cocaine rather than Oreos reacted similarly. They found that regardless of what “substance” the rats were offered (Oreos, coke, or morphine) they spent about the same time on the “drug” side. “Our research supports the theory that high-fat/high-sugar foods stimulate the brain in the same way that drugs do,” professor Joseph Schroeder said. “It may explain why some people can’t resist these foods,” he added, echoing a common refrain, “despite the fact that they know they are bad for them.” The research may thus bear some relevance to public health issues, namely the fact that high-calorie foods are often low-priced and highly addictive. And the fallout from poor eating behaviors can be as dramatic as that from drugs, said the authors, even if the risk of death from one usage is lower.
