But the former Real Housewife of New York City is even more open in the latest issue of People , dishing to the magazine about her troubled upbringing. “I never had a true childhood,” Frankel tells the magazine . “There was a lot of destruction: alcohol abuse, eating disorders and violent fights.” For this reason, Frankel says she’s pampering eight-week old Bryn even more than most first-time parents. She’s also motivated by the fact that she’s estranged from her own mom, who she describes as “extremely volatile.
