When Derick Dillard quit his job at Wal-Mart earlier this month, there was much speculation regarding why a newlywed first-time father would leave a comfortable position in the career field of his choice. Some guessed that Derick was preparing for a role on the long-rumored Jill and Jessa Duggar spinoff series. Others assumed his departure was part of the family’s effort to keep a low profile in the wake of the Josh sexual abuse scandal . Now, the reason for Derick’s career change has become clear, and many are taking it as a sign that 19 Kids and Counting will never return to the airwaves. “God has put a desire in our hearts to serve Him internationally for longer than the typical short-term mission trip, but we didn’t know yet how God would fulfill that desire in us,” Derick and wife Jill Dillard wrote on their personal blog. “Earlier this year God brought about an opportunity much earlier than either of us was expecting. Several months ago a new opportunity arose for us to serve God on the mission field. “After much prayer and seeking Godly counsel, we realized that taking this opportunity and moving overseas in order to serve is the best option for our family…We are currently preparing to leave the US and begin our new endeavor in July.” Derick and Jill did not disclose the location or duration of their missionary work, but it sounds as though they intend to be out of the country for at least several months. As you’ve probably heard, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of nationwide gay marriage yesterday in a landmark decision that’s being celebrated in all 50 states. Countless celebrities have spoken out in favor of the SCOTUS decision , and president Obama hailed the ruling as a ” victory for America .” But not all public figures are pleased with yesterday’s developments. Just moments after the decision was announced, members of the famously conservative Duggar family made their feelings known with a Bible quote posted on their official Facebook page: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways,” the message reads. “Then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” While the family has not addressed the court’s ruling directly, the timing and content of the above message leaves little doubt that this is the Duggars’ way of admonishing the justices who voted in favor of gay marriage and chastising the nation for its “wicked” ways. Many of the commenters on the Duggars’ post expressed support for the family and its views, while others accused the 19 Kids and Counting clan of hypocrisy for commenting on the sexual preferences so soon after news of the Josh Duggar molestation scandal went public. (Snap)shots fired! Proving she really is a viral force to be reckoned with, Kendall Jenner has set a new Instagram record for the most-Liked picture of all-time on that social media service. And the person she knocked from the top spot? None other than half-sister Kim Kardashian! A photo snapped this spring of Kendall lying on her back, eyes closed, decked out in a lacey white dress (above) has now been Liked over 2.4 million times. The previous mark had been held by Kim after she posted a photo of her kissing Kanye West at their Florence wedding in May of 2014. Jenner celebrated the news by retweeting the announcement and jokingly adding, “take that KimYe!” Although we wonder how much she was joking. A Kendall Jenner-Kim Kardashian feud has allegedly been simmering for months. Some say the former sex tape star is jealous that Jenner has already accomplished more in the modeling world than Kim ever dreamed. Earlier this year, on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim screamed that she bought Kendall’s career . Moreover, one report claims Kendall has banned Kim from attending her runway shows because she thinks Kardashian hurts her “brand.” It’s juicy celebrity gossip fodder, that’s for sure, and this new Instagram rivalry only adds to it. The Cumber-baby has officially arrived! Benedict Cumberbatch and wife Sophie Hunter welcomed their first child today. Reps for the actor shared the news in a statement issued to People magazine this morning: “Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son,” the statement read. “We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.” Cumberbatch and Hunter got engaged in November of last year, and rumors that she was carrying the British heartthrob’s baby began to circulate shortly thereafter. Hunted confirmed that she was pregnant in January, and Benedict and Sophie got married a month later on Valentine’s Day. The couple has yet to reveal any details about the baby, but sources say we can expect the announcement of a name and the release of the first photos sometime in the next week. Naturally, Cumberbatch’s legions of devoted female fans have already expressed their best wishes (and volunteered to babysit) on social media. Son Of Former Chicago Bears Player Adrian Peterson Dies Of Cancer So sad. Former NFL player Adrian Peterson (of the Bears rather than the Vikings) has lost his son to an inoperable brain tumor . Via WSBtv : The 7-year-old son of former Chicago Bears running back and Georgia Southern standout Adrian Peterson passed away on Tuesday following his battle with brain cancer. He made the announcement on social media Tuesday. “#Ajsoars is in Heaven, where he belongs…#ajsoars #P3 #MyFirstSuperHero,” Peterson posted on his Facebook page Tuesday morning. He was diagnosed in June 2014, when he was just 6 years old. The Peterson family received an outpouring of support through social media, as they publicly documented the young boy’s heath struggles. Since leaving the NFL, Adrian Peterson has devoted his life to helping others. The Adrian Peterson Foundation is a nonprofit foundation that helps needy children. The internet community returned the favor, raising more than $40,000 for A.J.’s medical expenses in just the past 7 months. In February 2015, AJ was named an honorary officer with the Round Lake Police Department in a ceremony with Round Lake police and Make-A-Wish. Peterson was a star running back for Georgia Southern from 1998-2001, and played for the Chicago Bears from 2002-2009. Who ya gonna call? Apparently, some of the funniest women in comedy! Yes, it’ll be hard to beat the dream team of Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, but if anyone’s up to the task, it’s certainly the four women who will be strapping on their proton packs for the highly-anticipated Ghostbusters 3 . The Hollywood Reporter revealed today that Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy will be cracking wise and blasting ghouls in the next installment of the iconic franchise. McCarthy and Wiig both worked with director Paul Feig on the 2011 hit Bridesmaids. McKinnon and Jones are two of the most buzzed-about standouts from the current SNL cast. (If you’ve never seen McKinnon’s flawless Justin Bieber impression , click on that link ASAP.) This will be the first major film role for both women. The announcement of the cast is a major step forward for a film that’s been mired in development hell for several years. It was originally to serve as a straightforward sequel starring the original cast, but director Ivan Reitman dropped out after the death of Ramis last year. Murray, Aykroyd and Hudson followed suit shortly thereafter. When Feig announced his intention to reboot the franchise with an all-female cast, some fans were skeptical. (Hudson stated flat-out that he doesn’t think it’ll work).
