Earlier this week, a man proposed to his girlfriend via a series of memes . Some thought it was cool, others thought it was totally and completely a tad nerdy. But, to those in the latter camp, consider: at least the woman said yes. That hasn’t always been the case for over-the-top, atypical proposals. Such as the guy who got down on one knee during a game show taping. Or the dude who did the same while sitting in the crowd at a basketball game. Jemima Kirke: Kicked Out of Jay-Z "Picasso Baby" Shoot For Clinging to Rapper?

Jay-Z allegedly had back problems while filming a 10-minute performance video for “Picasso Baby” this week … because Jemima Kirke was hanging on it. According to sources at midtown’s Pace Gallery, he needed help from security to lighten the load as the Girls actress “clung to him like a cheap suit.” Jemima Kirke Kicked Out of Jay-Z Shoot? The shoot began innocently enough, with Hova serenading her, and the smiley actress keeping it together as she let down her hair and grinned away. A short time later, the video cut to Kirke ALL over Jay as he rapped to the crowd. “She was acting totally nuts!” said a witness who watched Kirke climb onto Jay’s back and hold on tightly as the hip-hop superstar “walked about.” “She kept jumping on his back like a little monkey.” Even though Beyonce’s spouse kept his cool and didn’t skip a beat, his security team saw Jemima Kirke going bananas and peeled her off the rap icon. “Someone was screaming ‘Get her off of him!’” says a spy. Kirke went away kicking and begging, “Let us finish!” as she was removed from the gallery. Called for comment about her alleged meltdown, Kirke reps said they knew nothing of it, while the video’s director called this “complete bull$h!t” … so who knows.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta Changes Position on Marijuana, Apologizes For "Misleading" Public

CNN medical expert Dr. Sanjay Gupta announced last night that he has reversed his blanket opposition to marijuana use, saying he once misled the public. Gupta, whose documentary on weed airs on Sunday, issued a 180 on Piers Morgan Tonight and in an op-ed called “Why I Changed My Mind On Weed.” Sanjay Gupta Apologizes For Misleading Weed Stance “I have apologized for some of the earlier reporting because I think, you know, we’ve been terribly and systematically misled in this country for some time,” he said. “And I did part of that misleading.” He said that while he formerly derided medical marijuana supporters, he has since done research that had shown him how beneficial it could be: “I mistakenly believed the Drug Enforcement Agency listed marijuana as a schedule 1 substance because of sound scientific proof,” he writes. “Surely, they have quality reasoning as to why marijuana is in the category of the most dangerous drugs that have ‘no accepted medicinal use and a high potential for abuse.'” “They didn’t have science to support that claim, and I now know that when it comes to marijuana neither of those things are true.” “It doesn’t have a high potential for abuse, and there are very legitimate medical applications. Kim Kardashian is growing worried and desperate. Sources tell Radar Online that the reality star has purposely been remaining holed up at home since giving birth to North West on June 15 because she wants to build anticipation for her first post-baby body appearance. Kanye Keeping Kim Kardashian Captive? But has she now waiting too long?!? “ Kim is used to having millions of adoring fans begging to see her all the time,” an insider tells the site. “But there has been a shift in her fan base and she’s getting nervous that people don’t care as much about her.” That may explain why Kardashian appeared via satellite on her mom’s talk show last week, a move that was met with derision by even the most loyal followers. Adds this anonymous source: “After all the excitement the whole world had for Kate Middleton’s royal baby, Kim had hoped that people would care about her that much, but now she’s freaking out that they’re not.” What can Kardashian do to recapture her buzz? Jason Hoppy Accuses Bethenny Frankel of Water Throwing, Vegan Diet Pushing

The divorce battle between Jason Hoppy and Bethenny Frankel is starting to get uglier than Kris Jenner’s talk show reviews. As previously reported, Frankel is already accused of referring to her estranged husband as trash in front of their little daughter. Now, an insider who has apparently seen Hoppy’s court-submitted documents, tells In Touch Weekly that they allege more mean actions by Bethenny in March. “She threw water on him to wake him and yelled that she ‘has more money than God,’” claims this tabloid source, adding that ” Bryn was sleeping in the next room” at the time of the confrontation. The source goes on to say that Frankel is consumed by her career, to the point that Bryn locked herself in the set bathroom once under Bethenny’s watch and firemen had to be called in. Moreover, Hoppy says Bethenny tried to force vegan recipes on the child, even though a nutritionist later said that it wasn’t healthy such a young girl. “According to Jason, Bethenny has ‘issues’ with food and refused to allow Bryn to eat animal products,” the insider tells the publication. Frankel’s attorney has denied all allegations, but there’s no denying the following summation by this anonymous mole: “No one expected it to be amicable. But this has gotten downright nasty.”

CISPA Protest Carried Out by Anonymous

About 900 sites have blacked out in protest of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, or CISPA, which passed a House vote last week. The protest is being led by the hacker activist group Anonymous . The bill seeks to remove current restrictions on websites that prevent them from mining and sharing sensitive information about their users. Various privacy groups strongly oppose the bill, as does President Barack Obama, who said he would veto it in its current form. Certain subsections of Reddit have joined the cyber protest, the Reddit itself has not taken part. Reddit General Manager Erik Martin said, “We’ve been running ads against CISPA for the past few months, but we didn’t think the timing was right for us to participate in today’s blackout.” Martin said that he is “going to plan more action closer to the vote in the Senate.”

Jenna Bush Hager Introduces Baby Mila: First Photos!

Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of President George W. Bush, welcomed her first child , a girl named Margaret Laura, Saturday evening in New York City. The baby, who will go by Mila, is named after her grandmothers, one of whom is former First Lady Laura Bush. Here’s a photo of the happy family: “Both my girls are healthy and well,” new dad Henry Hager told Today , noting that Mila arrived a bit ahead of her due date but is healthy and happy. She weighed in at 6 lbs., 15 oz. and measures 19¼ inches long. Jenna Bush Hager, 32, is a contributor for the NBC morning show and shared a number of family photos, including another intimate moment with Mila below. As for Jenna’s dad, needless to say he’s excited. “We met our beautiful granddaughter [on Sunday],” the 43th President of the United States reports. “Jenna and Mila are healthy. And our family is elated.” Congratulations to the Bush and Hager families!!

Aubrey Plaza Thanks Kanye West for MTV Movie Awards Inspiration

At last night’s MTV Movie Awards, Aubrey Plaza went all Kanye West , crashing Will Ferrell’s Comedic Genius acceptance speech to try and grab his trophy. The actress didn’t get nearly as far as West in 2009, however, when he actually interrupted Taylor Swift , grabbed the mic and rambled on for about a minute. In the case below, Plaza simply wrestled with Ferrell awkwardly and returned to her seat, head bowed: Aubrey Plaza MTV Movie Awards Fail “Thanks for the advice @kanyewest went better than planned!” the Parks and Recreation star Tweeted after the incident, which did net the actress some headlines. But it also netted her a one-way invitation out of the ceremony: sources confirm Plaza was asked to leave not long after sitting back down.

Rehtaeh Parsons Case: Anonymous Threatens to Leak Confession From Suspect

Anonymous claims to have a confession from a suspect who allegedly raped Rehtaeh Parsons, who was recently taken off life support after a suicide attempt. The hacktivist group threatened to reveal the identity of the teenaged suspect and three others accused of the 2011 gang rape of the Canadian teen. Anonymous was drawn to the case following outcry about Rehtaeh Parsons’ death , and called on the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to make arrests. The group said in a statement: “A 17-year-old girl killed herself because the police failed to do their jobs and charge a single person for any of them.” “Why is Anonymous involved in this case? We are involved because the facts clearly illustrate that several crimes have been committed in Nova Scotia.” Her parents said she hanged herself last week, not only because she was sexually assaulted but because photos of the attack were shared by the alleged rapists. Classmates at her school tormented her afterward, drawing tragically similar parallels with the death of raped and bullied California teen Audrie Pott . According to Anonymous, one of Parsons’ alleged attackers: “Made several public statements admitting that he did have sex with [Rehtaeh] on the night in question” and that “she was throwing up during the act.” The confession the group claims to be in possession of includes the names of three other boys who allegedly “took turns having sex with [Rehtaeh].” Anonymous said it has already shared the information it pieced together, including screenshots of the alleged confession, with local law enforcement. With public pressure mounting, Nova Scotia’s Justice Minister Ross Landry announced on that his department would reopen the case , the CBC reported. Anonymous is a loosely connected collective of skillful hackers and Internet activists, but one that has left its mark on many a case in recent years. They famously drew attention to a video of Steubenville (Oh.) H.S. students joking about rape, and trolled the crap out of the Westboro Baptist Church.

Family Smokes on Plane, Flight Gets Diverted

A flight from Halifax bound for the Dominican Republic was forced to land in Bermuda Friday night after three passengers refused to stop smoking. Bermuda police said they were called to the airport around 9:55 p.m. local time to meet Sunwing flight 454, which was on its way to Punta Cana. Police boarded the plane and arrested the three smokers. “It appeared to be a father, a mother and a son. The parents appear to be in their 50s. The son, I believe, is around 22 or so,” said acting Insp. Paul Simons. Dave Shellington’s wife was on the plane. She texted her husband: “They were smoking in the plane’s washroom and when they came out they got into a little bit of an argument with the attendants.” “They couldn’t say where they put their cigarette butts and that caused a bit of a commotion, I guess. From there it kind of escalated with the father, the mother and the son. Apparently there was a lot of screaming and swearing. Simons said he couldn’t confirm the family’s nationality or if they had also been drinking, but said they were co-operative when they were removed by police. They were taken to the police station and have since been released; the flight was grounded overnight and the crew and passengers were put up in a hotel. The flight was rescheduled to leave on Saturday, the family not so much; they’ve had their passports and travel documents seized by the Bermuda police. Totally worth it for those sweet, sweet carcinogens …
