This young man is incredible ! Football Star Plays 9 Instruments And Receives 150 Scholarships Offers Via The Root reports: It’s good to have options. And if you’re Chad Thomas, a senior at Booker T. Washington Senior High in Miami, you have a ton of options. Thomas, 18, has received 150 scholarship offers for his football skills and his abilities as a nine-instrument musician, 10 News Tampa Bay reports. Thomas, who helped the Booker T. Tornadoes win back-to-back state championships and also a national title this season, told the news station that he has chosen to attend the University of Miami and will play football but will also work on his music at the university’s Frost School of Music. It was Thomas’s late grandmother who inspired his love for music. As a young boy, he would listen to his grandmother’s gospel CDs. Then she bought him a guitar and signed him up for piano lessons. By the time he was 5, Thomas was performing, 10 News reports. Thomas plays the piano, trombone, euphonium (a small tuba), bass guitar, regular guitar, snare, tuba, trumpet and drums, and he has no plans of abandoning music even if someday the NFL comes calling. “So if I make it to the NFL, that would be a blessing for me,” said Thomas. But his love for music remains a passion. “I have love for music and took it upon myself to learn and play the instruments I hear in the songs.” And if he had to choose between the NFL and music? “It would probably be music,” said Thomas. What an amazing and inspiring young man! It appears his grandmother helped to nurture his talents with a guitar and piano lessons. But Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, thinks the singer is closer to another iconic figure in acting history. “Justin Bieber… is the Joffrey Baratheon of our time,” the young actress told The London Times in an interview this week. Is this a compliment? Well… it means Bieber is very powerful and many people fear him. But it also means he’s petulant, immature, self-serving, spineless, hated on and treats women very poorly. Reeva Steenkamp, Oscar Pistorius’ slain girlfriend, allegedly sent text messages conveying her fear of the Olympic sprinter charged with her murder. Oscar Pistorius’ girlfriend told the South African athlete she was sometimes afraid of him, complaining that he had a short temper and was jealous. All this in the weeks before he killed her in February 2013, according to phone messages revealed at the Oscar Pistorius murder trial on Monday. “I’m scared of u sometimes and how u snap at me and of how u will react to me,” Reeva Steenkamp texted him, police Capt. Francois Moller said. In another message Steenkamp wrote: “I can’t be attacked by outsiders for dating u AND be attacked by you, the one person I deserve protection from.” Moller said that from Steenkamp’s phone he obtained more than 1,000 exchanges with Pistorius on WhatsApp and other phone messaging applications. Moller cited as evidence two BlackBerry phones, two iPhones, two iPads and a Mac from Pistorius’ house the day after he killed Reeva Steenkamp . Of the exchanges between the couple,about 90 percent were what he called normal, “loving” exchanges. The other 10, however, are ominous. In Steenkamp’s text about being scared of the athlete, she even added: “You make me happy 90 percent of the time and I think we are amazing together.” She goes on to talk about Pistorius snapping at her about chewing gum and talking in an accent, and then writes: “I just want to love and be loved.” “Be happy and make someone SO happy. Maybe we can’t do that for each other. Cos right now I know u aren’t happy and I am certainly very unhappy and sad.” Oscar Pistorius Text Messages: Jealous, Critical The long message was sent after the two attended a friend’s engagement party and apparently left early because she said he got upset and jealous. As Moller read the message, Pistorius, who vomited in court last week and had been looking at a book of the compiled messages, closed his eyes. His face became red, and tears fell to his lap. He wiped his eyes with a white handkerchief and regained the composure he held through most of the day. In other jarring testimony, Moller also read messages exchanged after a shooting incident at a Tashas restaurant about a month before the fatal shooting. Boxer Kevin Lerena and Darren Fresco said Pistorius asked Fresco to take the blame for a shot fired after a loaded gun was passed to Pistorius under the table. In the phone message exchange, the 27-year-old runner told Steenkamp: “Angel, please don’t say a thing to anyone … the guys promised not to say a thing.” She then replied: “I have no idea what you’re talking about ” Investigators tried to access information on Pistorius’s locked iPhone for months and met Apple officials in the U.S. just before the trial started March 3. Pistorius said he forgot the password to his phone. Earlier Monday, a neighbor testified that she heard gunshots and screams from a man and a woman on the night that the double amputee fatally shot Steenkamp. According to Pistorius’s version of events, he thought Steenkamp was in bed when he fired his 9 mm pistol at who be believed was an intruder in his home.
