I’d never heard of Hailee Lautenbach before this, but looks like I’ve got myself a new favorite no-name model. So far though, the only thing I’ve been able to find out about Hailee is that she needs to start posting more personal information on the Internet. You know, like her hobbies, her career goals, her position on dating real cool bloggers who live with their moms. Black Youths Have Positive Conversation With Cop Who Profiled Them It’s good they were able to express their thoughts without being victims of police brutality. According to The Root: What began as an unfortunate incident of alleged police profiling in Princeton, N.J., ended with a public-forum discussion with the officer who did the profiling. According to one member of the Black Youth Project 100, or BYP100, a youth-centered black activist group, the police pulled over a car carrying members who were leaving a gathering on Princeton University’s campus on Saturday, March 8. The black officer cited a broken tail light, but upon investigation the vehicle was found to be intact. The unidentified officer let the group go after asking them where they were headed and saying that he would “beat them there,” Fresco Steez, one of the members present at the incident, told The Root. It was when the members arrived at the Nassau Hotel and actually saw the officer pulled up there waiting for them that the discussion was triggered. The group approached him, questioning the motive for his actions. The officer insisted that he wasn’t trying to criminalize the black youths and said that his feelings were hurt at the accusation. But then the officer offered the young people free parking as an apology, which got a conversation started. Kudos to the black youth for having the courage to approach the police officer. It’s bad enough the man had a seizure, they had to taser him too? Police Taser Man Having Seizure These stories of police abusing their power are getting out of hand. According to Raw Story: A Pennsylvania man said police shocked him with a Taser stun gun while he was receiving medical attention in an ambulance for an apparent seizure. Darren Scott, of Upland, was jailed on $100,000 bond on charges including aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest following the March 12 incident, reported The Philadelphia Inquirer . Police said the 48-year-old Scott was “extremely combative,” kicked a paramedic, and grabbed and pushed a police officer, who said he believed the patient was under the influence of narcotics. But Scott’s attorney said his client had smoked only a small amount of marijuana the night before. An employee of Two Js Sandwich Shop told police she was waiting on Scott when she noticed his eyes roll back into his head, so she grabbed his clothes to steady him and keep him from falling. Emergency crews were called, and Scott was placed on a stretcher and taken to an ambulance over his protests. Both police and prosecutors are investigating the incident. “We look at it from the perspective of what a reasonable police officer would do,” said District Attorney Jack Whelan, adding that the officer did not use the Taser until Scott kicked the paramedic in the chest. But Scott’s attorney said his client should never have been jailed. “You have a seizure and end up with a criminal case. How does that happen?” Latoison said. Damn shame. Shutterstock
