Sharkeisha has been arrested, weeks after the brutal assault video that went viral and made her unusal first name a trending topic on social media. Blindsided with a fist to the mouth, then pounded with uppercuts and kicked in the head while lying on the ground, Manuel could’vee been badly injured. As a result, many called for the arrest of Sharkeisha , and it happened. The Harris County, Tex., sheriff’s office confirmed that the foul-mouthed, cowardly bully has been arrested on charges of assault with bodily injury. They didn’t identify her or go into detail because she’s a minor. The now-infamous November 19 attack allegedly started because of a dispute over a boy, ShaMichael’s family told Houston’s KHOU-TV in the aftermath. She says she was set up for this, and that hurts most of all. The sickening footage has since gone viral, and that is the worst part of it. They are humiliated and saddened more than any physical pain could cause. They’re glorifying Sharkeisha.” ShaMichael, a Cypress Creek H.S. senior, said she was lured to an apartment complex thinking she was going to pick up some of her stuff from friends. Saturday Night Live hears the criticism. And it’s finally doing something about it. Following the exodus of Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen following last season, the long-running sketch comedy hired six new cast members, all of whom have something in common: They’re white. This led to a number of diversity complaints, considering the show actually employees a grand total of zero African-American performers, something it mocked when Kerry Washington ( Scandal ) hosted in November. But insiders now confirm to The Hollywood Reporter that NBC held showcases in Los Angeles and New York this month in order to hire an African-American female. One is expected to debut as early as January. Overall, there are three people of color (Kennan Thompson, Jay Pharaoh and Nasim Pedrad) in the show’s 16-person cast and SNL has only ever had four African-American women on stage: Yvonne Hudson (1980-81), Danitra Vance (1985-86), Ellen Cleghorne (1991-95) and Maya Rudolph (2000-2007). But Thompson recently said this was less a reflection of producer Lorne Michaels and more of simply finding the right individual. “It’s just a tough part of the business,” Thompson told TV Guide of the show’s diversity issues. “Like in auditions, they just never find ones that are ready.”
Loretta Fuddy, the director of Hawaii’s Department of Health who verified President Obama’s birth certificate, died in a small plane crash this week. A commercial plane carrying Fuddy went down off the coast of the Hawaiian island Molokai Wednesday. The respected state health official was 65. Fuddy is best known nationally as the Hawaii official who verified and approved the public release of Barack Obama’s birth certificate in 2011. Naturally, many Tweets, comments, and web posts from the “movement” quickly insinuated that Fuddy’s death in the Cessna crash was no accident. Some implied that the White House was “tying up loose ends,” or that those with ties to Obama’s past tend to have a “shortened life span.” And, of course, the King of the Birthers, Donald Trump, weighed in: Wow. You keep it classy, Donald. Just keep doing your thing. Trump aside, her life and successes are being celebrated. A new report by the United Health Foundation, American Public Health Association and the Partnership for Prevention, confirmed that Hawaii is the healthiest state. Hawaii House Speaker Joe Souki said Fuddy “was especially passionate about the most vulnerable in our communities, a champion for mothers, newborns, and early childhood care.” Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie said “Loretta was deeply loved and respected. On Wednesday’s episode of South Park, one character referred to Kim Kardashian as a phony who “who manipulates her image and makes average girls feel horrible about themselves.” And sources tell The New York Post that the latest issue of Us Weeky, which features new Kardashian bikini photos , is a prime example of this manipulation. Moreover, Kardashian gave personal approval to each image before bidding was opened up to various magazine. Us Weekly won and paid around $100,000 for the spread, with half that fee going into Kim’s pocket. This is a pretty typical arrangement for celebrities. Many of them strikes a deal with the paparazzi and split the payment for supposedly candid pictures. So why would Kim lie about it? Why not just say she wanted to show off her bikini body six months after giving birth? Or why not just say nothing at all? Who knows. This is the same woman who claims she played no role in the release of the Kim Kardashian sex tape , so perhaps the real question should be: Why does anyone ever believe anything Kim says in the first place?
