Avril Lavigne has made plenty of bad decisions in her life (she’s married to Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger , for Pete’s sake), but we can’t imagine what the Canadian songstress was thinking when she shot the video for her song “Hello Kitty.” Avril Lavigne: Hello Kitty Video The clip features Avril doing her best Nicki Minaj/Ke$ha impression while perpetuating pretty much every negative Asian stereotype in the book. Awful as it is, you may want to watch the video while you can, as it’s already been banned from YouTube once as a result of outrage from civil rights groups. YouTube hasn’t issued a statement as to why the clip was temporarily pulled this morning. While the video is certainly offensive there are millions of hours of offensive footage on YouTube and “Hello Kitty” doesn’t seem to violate the site’s terms of use in any clear way. It’s likely that Lavigne realized some would find the video racially insensitive and is relying on the negative reaction to drum up some publicity for her new single. Avril is no stranger to using stunts to help resurrect her ailing career. Earlier this month the singer staged a fake feud with Miley Cyrus for no apparent reason. What do you think? James Franco sure does love getting shirtless with other men. We’re not judging, we’re just taking note of the actor’s Bound 3 video alongside a half-naked Seth Rogen and also of a picture that went live this week on his Instagram account. It’s of Franco and Pretty Little Liars star Keegan Allen, both relaxing happily in bed, no clothes to be seen: Wrote Allen of the photo: “Loved seeing “of mice and men. And @jamesfrancotv showed me how to do a proper bed selfie.” The actors are featured in the film Palo Alto, based on Franco’s book. It premieres tomorrow at the Tribeca Film Festival. According to Rolling Out: When it comes to the hyper dramatic world of reality TV, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” was one of the few shows able to boast with a nimble thin sense of pride that it didn’t display physical violence between its black female cast mates — though it certainly showed them verbally slicing each other down with assassin like fury. But all of that changed this past weekend during the reunion show when Porsha Williams attacked Kenya Moore after being taunted about her failed marriage. Now, a civil rights group is saying enough is enough and demanding that Bravo crack down on the violence on their reality TV shows. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ColorOfChange sent a statement to Bravo’s parent company, NBC Universal, criticizing the channel’s reality TV shows for perpetuating the stereotype that Black women are catty, angry and violent. “After weeks of promoting the “RHOA” reunion altercation, on Sunday, executive producer Andy Cohen finally condemned the violent behavior of cast members — completely ignoring the staged hostile environment that provoked the altercation and the troubling pattern of violent, stereotypical portrayals of Black people across many of Bravo’s Black reality franchises,” reads the statement. “We’ve been in contact with NBC Universal last week verbally and shared concerns in writing — specifically about this “Real Housewives of Atlanta” confrontation that was coming up,” stated Arisha Hatch, campaign director at ColorOfChange. ColorOfChange says that it doesn’t want “RHOA” to be canceled, explaining that the show does have some positive portrayals of black women. But the organization does want Bravo to adopt new anti-violence rules for its shows, just like Vh1 did in 2012 when it adopted a no excessive violence rule for “Basketball Wives” after the series endured a serious backlash over violent outbursts from cast members like Tami Roman and Evelyn Lozada.
