Katherine just won’t give up. Katherine Jackson Appeals Decision In Wrongful Death Case Trying to appeal this case and dealing with Conrad Murray’s release may prove too much for Katherine. According to Spin: Katherine Jackson is seeking an appeal in the wrongful death trial that declared concert promoter AEG not liable in the early demise of her son, Michael Jackson. The initial charge was that the company had hired Dr. Conrad Murray — recently released after serving two years behind bars for involuntary manslaughter — with the knowledge that the physician was incompetent. After a long and complicated trial, a jury decided AEG did nothing wrong. They declared that Murray was perfectly fit to do his job, though we’re still not convinced he’s a good candidate for a reality television show. While Jackson certainly died by the man’s negligent hand (this having been proven in a court of law), and certain higher-ups at AEG displayed some disgusting behavior in dealing with the King of Pop (pushing Jackson despite his flagging health, referring to him as “the freak”), the matter appeared to be settled. Katherine Jackson’s latest move is being alternately criticized as a money-grab and praised as an attempt to seek justice. You big dummy. Man Impersonates Cop To Get Discount On Donuts Those donuts must have been hella good. According to ABC 7: Pasco County Sheriff Deputies arrest a man after he tried to get a discount on donuts by impersonating a law enforcement officer. Deputies say 48-year-old Charles “Chuck” Barry went to the drive-thru of a Trinity Dunkin’ Donuts last week, and after identifying himself as law enforcement, asked for a discount on his order of donuts. When the clerk refused to give him the discount, Barry allegedly held up a gun — still in its holster — and said, “See, I’m a cop!” The witness told investigators Barry never pointed the gun at him or took it out of its holster. The next day he went through the drive-thru again and the manager took down his license plate tag. On November 12, surveillance was set up at Dunkin Donuts and a Deputy with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office observed Barry driving away from the business. A traffic stop was conducted and while speaking with Barry the deputy observed he had a law enforcement badge in his wallet. He was also carrying a .38 caliber revolver in his front pocket. He was positively identified by store personnel and arrested on above mentioned charges. What a messed up way to die. Man Dies After Jumping From Rocks Into Pool The kid had his whole life ahead of him. Sad. According to KTLA: A Cal State Fullerton student who was hiking with a group of friends in the Angeles National Forest died after jumping from some rocks into a pool of water, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release Tuesday. The group of 13 college students were hiking in the Hermit Falls area Monday when several of them decided to jump into the water from the adjacent rocks. Friends tell KTLA that 19-year-old Kevin La landed in the water, but when he surfaced he appeared to be unconscious. Some members of the group attempted to use their cellphones to call for help while others performed CPR on La. He was airlifted to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Hermit Falls is a well known spot where hikers often participate in cliff jumping. Friends have created a Facebook in La’s memory. “I’m going to miss his smile,” friend Jean To said. “That smile brought joy to a lot of people’s faces. He brought smiles to people who were going through tough times.” They should have stopped him from doing something so dangerous. Facebook
