Cassandra Lynn Hensley, Playboy Centerfold, Found Dead of Suspected Overdose

Cassandra Lynn Hensley, a Playboy centerfold who was named Miss February in 2006, was found dad yesterday at a friend house in Los Angeles. She was 34 years old. Officials tell TMZ that the friend found Hensley’s corpse floating in a bathtub and called the police immediately. When paramedics arrived, they could not revive Hensley, who is believed to have died from an overdose. Foul play is not suspected at this time. Hensley was a frequent Twitter user and her last Tweet, from three days ago, reads especially eerie in light of this tragic development: “Unspoken obligations prevent you from doing what you wish today … No matter what you do now, you might not feel completely fulfilled. Working harder isn’t the answer, but neither is escape.” We send our condolences to her friends and family members.

American Apparel has done it again. The company – known for making provocative statements in order to drum up business – came out last year with a T-shirt that featured a menstruating, masturbating vagina . And just when you thought it had reached the apex of inappropriateness, a retailer on New York City’s East Houston Street debuted the following mannequin early this morning: That is A LOT of pubic hair. An employee at the store featuring this dummy said the look is meant to convey “rawness and realness of sexuality” and has been released now in time to increase sales for Valentine’s Day. First Look: ‘Ender’s Game’ Hungering For A Hit?

I’m not saying all dystopian kid-warrior movies set in the future are going to be shamelessly crib from their successful predecessors (especially those adapted from exceptionally popular, award-winning, decades-old tomes), but something feels and looks really familiar in the first official photo from 2013’s Ender’s Game , based on Orson Scott Card’s Hugo Award-winning sci-fi novel. In the first look, which debuted over at EW along with a preview chat with director Gavin Hood ( Tsotsi , Wolverine ), Asa Butterfield stars as Ender, a young Battle School recruit being trained to fight an interstellar war, gets a stern glare from Harrison Ford ‘s Colonel Graff. In the cash-littered wake of The Hunger Games , the first few looks at Ender’s Game hit the futuristic teen sci-fi signposts: A muted blue palette, austere high-tech aesthetic, retro-fascism (meets, hmm — American Apparel ?) garb, kids playing games… TO THE DEATH. American Apparel GLAAD To Come Out With New Line Of Pride Tees! And Top Trans Model Isis King Is Rockin’ Them Thangs

Werk it Isis, werk it. American Apparel is using a familiar face for their latest line of tees, a collaboration with GLAAD for Pride month. America’s Next Top Model Transgender Contestant Face Of American Apparel/GLAAD Pride Tees GLAAD posted about the new line on their blog : Clothing giant American Apparel has teamed up with GLAAD on a new line of equality tees, just in time for LGBT Pride Month. And in a company first, AA is featuring an openly transgender model in its ad campaign! GLAAD worked alongside American Apparel in casting for the new ads, which will run online and in print. Former America’s Next Top Model contestant and openly transgender model Isis King is among those donning the Pride shirts in ads that will appear online and in print across the nation. Joining her in the ad campaign are four current and former GLAAD staff members, among others. Fifteen percent of all proceeds from the shirts benefits GLAAD’s work to share stories that build support for equality. American Apparel employees will also join GLAAD staff in LGBT Pride marches across the country, including in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. Participants will each receive an AA tee, courtesy of American Apparel. “We’re super proud to support LGBT Pride again this year and partner with GLAAD in these events. It’s time for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, to accept each other and thrive in harmony. We hope everyone comes out and joins us,” said Marsha Brady, a creative director for American Apparel. “American Apparel is showing bold leadership by being among just a few companies to include transgender people in its national ads,” said GLAAD President Herndon Graddick. “Additionally, the company’s statement that ‘Gay is OK’ will reach millions and send an important message in support of equality.” Do you like the American Apparel tees? Abercrombie & Fitch’s timing, not unlike its earnings outlook, is less than stellar. Just hours after their offer to Jersey Shore ‘s The Situation – to pay him a “substantial amount” in exchange for him NOT wearing their apparel – the latest figures for the preppy retail chain were released. Short story? They sucked. “Looks like Abercrombie got themselves into a Situation!” you-know-who tweeted. Sitch, a.k.a. Mike Sorrentino, went on to add: “Thanks #SituationNation for having my back and you are the best fans in the world! I love you guys!” An article detailing the steady decline of A&F stock coincidentally came out right after new wake of their non-endorsement offer to Sitch had leaked. There was no mention of any correlation to the Jersey Shore cast’s love for the brand, but company’s stock took a dive of nine percent regardless. Despite their offer, clearly a diss of Mike and an opportunistic PR ploy, the retailer is still offering its bestselling “The Fitchuation” t-shirts online. Not that MTV is bitter in the least. “It’s a clever PR stunt,” the network said. “We’d love to work with them on other ways they can leverage Jersey Shore to reach the largest youth audience on TV.” MTV 1, A&F 0.
