Zanesville, Ohio: Overrun By Wild Animals!

Dozens of wild animals are on the loose in Zanesville, Ohio, after escaping from a 40-acre exotic animal farm in the area, according to the Columbus Dispatch . Schools were closed all through the area and local residents feared for their lives as the dangerous creatures began to roam freely across Muskingum County. We’re not talking about dogs and cats here. Nearly 50 animals, including lions, Bengal tigers, cheetahs and wolves, escaped from the Zanesville farm whose suicidal owner, Terry Thompson, 62, apparently set them free late Tuesday night before killing himself. Some have been shot to death after efforts to tranquilize them failed. “We are not talking about your normal everyday house cat,” Sheriff Matt Lutz said at a news conference. “We could not have animals running loose in this county.” Lutz described a particularly frightening incident in which officials were confronted by a 300-pound tiger, who eventually was killed when officials had no choice. The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium described the situation as being “like Noah’s ark wrecked” and defended killing the animals out of concern for public safety. Thompson reportedly was charged with animal cruelty in 2005. Why he was allowed to legally keep such an exotic menagerie is a mystery, at least to THG. UPDATE : As of midday today, all the animals were accounted for, except a monkey and a wolf.

Joss Stone Murder Plot: Swords And A Body Bag Discovered

Two men arrested near Stone’s home in England for conspiracy to murder and rob the singer. By Jocelyn Vena Joss Stone Photo: Getty Two men have been arrested in connection with a murder plot involving British singer Joss Stone. They were taken into custody in Devon, England, near Stone’s home, police have confirmed to BBC News . The two unidentified men, ages 30 and 33, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and rob the star. They were apprehended on Monday after a suspicious vehicle was seen in the Cullompton area and were initially arrested on “possession of offensive weapons and being equipped to steal.” Once arrested, they were reportedly found in possession of swords, forensic-style overalls, plans of Stone’s house and a body bag. Police added that the singer is aware of the arrests, although it is not known if she was home at the time they were made. “Police attended an address in Cullompton after alert residents notified officers about a suspicious-looking vehicle. Police have been on patrol near the property,” a statement from the police read. “Officers attended the area at around 1000 BST and subsequently arrested the occupants of a red Fiat Punto. Major crime detectives are continuing to investigate.” On Wednesday, police were seen in the area investigating the incident and questioning Stone’s neighbors, whom they credit with assisting in the investigation. “Our officers are currently carrying out reassurance patrols and it’s important to stress that no properties have been burgled and no individuals have been harmed,” the statement continued. Stone is being kept abreast of developments in the case. At 24, the singer is reportedly one of the wealthiest young pop stars in Britain, according to the BBC, and is set to release a new album, LP1, next month. She also has several gigs scheduled in Europe in support of the release. Related Artists Joss Stone

Do Aliens Really Exist… And Are They Here? [VIDEO]

See the original post:

If you’re as attached to your laptop, iPhone, Blackberry, or Twitter account as I am, chances are you’ve already seen the footage of the “alien” corpse found in Siberia recently. The footage was posted on YouTube only a few days ago, but has already amassed over 3.5 million hits. In the clip, a tiny “alien” corpse, (much like the stereotypical image of aliens promoted after the Roswell incident) lies in the snow, with translucent flesh, hollowed out eye sockets and a mangled body, for it appears to have suffered horrific injuries- namely the loss of one limb. Fox News report that the lifeless body was (supposedly) discovered lying in snow in the Irkutsk region of southern Siberia following reports of a UFO crash in the area last month. According to Fox; “shocked villagers had told of seeing a pink and blue glowing object hurtling towards the town before the alien was found. The bizarre reports were taken so seriously, they were investigated by the country’s Emergencies Ministry staff. The mystery deepened when investigators said no aircraft were reported in the area. And search and rescue teams found no evidence of an aircraft crash.” This one has got skeptics and believers scratching their heads for an explanation, and while it will more than likely be proven an a very elaborate hoax, (in face I have a $10 bet on it being a hoax) it has got everyone thinking: are there other life-forms out there? Watch the clip and make up your own mind…. I have no clue what I believe about aliens, but what about you? Do you believe in extra-terrestrials and life on other planets? WORSER: Japan Hit With 2nd Nuclear Explosion, 3rd Nuclear Meltdown And Threat Of Another Tsunami

Sadly, as we expected, things have gone from bad to worse for the people of Japan. An explosion rocked another nuclear plant in northeastern Japan earlier today, causing authorities to issue another evacuation warning. Soldiers and officials along a stretch of Japan’s northeastern coast warned residents that the area could be hit by another tsunami Monday and ordered them to higher ground. But the Meteorological Agency said there was no risk of another deadly wave. The warning came as an explosion rocked the nearby Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant. The blast was felt 30 miles away by Associated Press journalists in the coastal town of Soma, where residents fled the town for safety after being herded quickly through muddy, debris-strewn streets. TV footage showed a massive column of smoke belching from the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant’s No. 3 unit, about 125 miles north of Tokyo. Japanese officials said they believe it was a hydrogen explosion similar to an earlier one at a different unit in the facility. The problems at the plant stem from failed cooling systems caused by damage from Friday’s earthquake and tsunami. More than 180,000 people have evacuated the area, and up to 160 may have been exposed to radiation. Before the power plant blast, sirens around Soma, which was battered by Friday’s tsunami, went off and public address systems ordered residents to safety. Farther south along the coast, helicopters flew over coastal communities warning residents to head to higher ground. In Sendai, the biggest city in the area, police announced warnings on a public address system. In Tokyo and elsewhere, authorities began rolling blackouts to conserve power as they tried desperately to stabilize the nuclear reactors at risk of meltdown in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami. The disasters sent Tokyo’s stock market plunging as it opened, raising fears of a steep economic toll on top of the already overwhelming human suffering. The planned blackouts of about three hours each in Tokyo and other cities are meant to help make up for the loss of power from key nuclear plants. Trade Minister Banri Kaieda said Sunday that the power utility expects a 25 percent shortfall. Some 1.9 million households were without electricity, but many people were without even more basic necessities. At least 1.4 million households had gone without water since the quake struck, and food aid was slow in reaching many areas. And the death toll keeps rising . And they’re expecting snow this week, which will make the situation even tougher for survivors and rescue workers… SMH.

From Freedom To That Black Gold: Ghadafi Loyalists And Rebels Go At It Over Oil In Libya

As if things weren’t bad enough in Libya… Greed has now reared it’s ugly head. Libyan government forces launched a counterattack against a key oil facility and air base in rebel-controlled eastern Libya on Wednesday morning as Moammar Kadafi vowed to “fight until the last man and woman.” The attack on Port Brega, about 100 miles south of the rebel stronghold of Benghazi, was the first offensive by Kadafi loyalists in eastern Libya since the region fell to rebel fighters 10 days ago. It triggered an escalation in the conflict as hundreds of untrained young men and poorly equipped soldiers stormed out of Benghazi to help rebels try to repulse the government advance. State-run TV claimed that the government seized the huge Sirte Oil Co. complex in Port Brega, as well as a nearby air base. Rebel commanders in Benghazi said their fighters drove Kadafi’s men back and took the area. But Ahmed Jerksi, Sirte Oil manager, told the Associated Press that Kadafi forces had retaken control of the facility. With the area engulfed in fighting, reporters who drove down the coastal highway were unable to sort out the conflicting claims. A government warplane attacked a major weapons depot outside Ajdabiya, an opposition-controlled city 50 miles north of Port Brega. The attack appeared to miss the depot — at least the fourth time in the last 10 days that airstrikes there have failed. Kadafi, in a combative speech to loyalists and the foreign media in Tripoli, said he had ordered the airstrike to prevent opposition “terrorists” from using the weapons. Rebels reported a second airstrike against opposition fighters battling government forces near a university along the coast in Port Brega. Two U.S. warships entered the Suez Canal bound for the Mediterranean, and Western governments were discussing a possible no-fly zone over Libya in support of the opposition. Oh, oil is legitimately at stake now?? It’s about to be Desert Storm 2 up in this b*tch! And Gadhafi’s ready. Kadafi warned of civil war, saying, “This will lead to a bloody war and thousands of Libyans will die if America and NATO enter Libya.” Source /Photo: Luis Sinco
