The news of HOT97 DJ Mister Cee ‘s recent arrest sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community who reacted with disbelief at hearing that the famous radio personality was caught in a compromising position with a transsexual. Well, that transsexual wasn’t a transsexual, but a drag queen. Lawrence Campbell, also known as Brooke-Lynn Pinklady, is now speaking out about his arrest and denies that any wrongdoing occurred between he and Mister Cee. “I’m definitely not a prostitute,” Campbell said in drag as Brooke-Lynn in a video posted to YouTube. “I’m not in any way shape or form easy. I don’t do things like that. I don’t have sex for money. I don’t need to have sex for money. As we previously reported, Gucci Mane was arrested on Friday, April 8 and is being charged with a misdemeanor count of battery and violation of probation. While Gucci’s (born Radric Davis) bail is only $5,000, the wealthy Atlanta rapper has yet to post bail and remains incarcerated in the DeKalb County Jail. Hot 107.9 spoke with an officer in the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office who explained why Gucci Mane is still locked up. “The reason he’s still incarcerated is he has a probation violation and he has to go to Fulton County to answer those charges,” said Sgt. Adrian Bell, who handles media relations for the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Bell added that he does not know when Gucci will be moved to Fulton County. If you recall, Gucci’s last stint in prison was at the Fulton County Jail for a probation violation. Gucci is accused of pushing a 36-year-old woman from his vehicle as he drove down Brannen Road in DeKalb. He allegedly picked up the woman, a hair stylist, as she was standing outside South DeKalb Mall on the morning of Jan. 28, according to a police incident report. He asked her to eat breakfast with him, and she agreed, but once inside Gucci’s vehicle, the rapper told her he wanted to take her to a hotel rather than a restaurant, the report says. He offered the woman $150, but she declined and demanded to be returned to South DeKalb Mall. That’s when he reportedly shoved her out of his vehicle. An ambulance came and treated the unnamed woman for pain on the left side of her back. This comes after losing last year in court against the Maybach Music honcho over trademark violations regarding his name. Freeway tells Bet in an interview “We always knew our case was stronger in the state than it was in the feds. California state law really protects people with their names and their likenesses. Although Mister Cee is a under a firestorm of criticism for being arrested for lewd conduct with a male, he is still a very respected DJ. 50 Cent came to his defense in a recent interview with Miss Info during the screening of “Things Fall Apart.” He stated “They can say what they want about it but how about you say I’m Rick James bitch, who cares? The news of HOT97 personality Mister Cee ‘s arrest for a public sex act sparked doubt in the minds of many. However, the New York Police Department has confirmed that Cee was arrested last Wednesday, March 30th. A NYPD rep confirmed the arrest to XXLMag.com . The arrest occurred at 4:05 PM on March 30th in the area of the first police precinct. Cee, born Calvin Lebrun, was charged with public lewdness and exposure. Mister Cee did not let the arrest stop him, as he was on air at HOT97 this afternoon for his daily “Throwback At Noon” mix, in which he addressed the incident through his song choices which included songs like Jay-Z’s “What More Can I Say” and Nas’ “Hate Me Now.” Terrance Dean, author of the controversial book Hiding In Hip-Hop and a contributor to our sister-site HelloBeautiful.com , commented on the arrest earlier today saying “Even though it’s alleged, this is not the first, nor would it be last.
