Larry Mitchell Hopkins, Leader Of United Constitutional Patriots, Beaten In Jail The leader of a rancidly racist right-wing militia group recently got his a** beat, and it’s very much so the highlight of our day. Larry Mitchell Hopkins, the 69-year-old leader of the United Constitutional Patriots, apparently got hands and feet put on him in a New Mexico prison. Doña Ana County officials told NBC News that they’re investigating a battery against Hopkins that happened after 9 p.m. Monday, April 22. But they provided few details. “Hopkins was given medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries,” a Doña Ana County news release states. “He was transferred out of the Doña Ana County Detention Center under the direction of the U.S. Marshals Service on Tuesday.” His attack comes after he appeared in federal court in connection with a charge of him being a felon in possession of a firearm. Hopkins group reportedly prided themselves on being the “eyes and ears” of border patrol agents and targeted migrants, sometimes holding them at gunpoint until agents arrived. His band of merry men reportedly was 20 deep and they were “armed with AK-47 rifles and other firearms.” An FBI tip line blew the whistle on the United Constitutional Patriots actions and the FBI agent who wrote the complaint against them said Hopkins allegedly said the group was “training to assassinate George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama.” Hopkins’ lawyer has since called the accusation “categorically false.” NBC also ran down the laundry list of Hopkins’ criminal history. It reads as follows; “In 1996, Hopkins was convicted of possession of a loaded firearm and was sentenced to state prison in Michigan for 16 months minimum to two years maximum, according to the complaint.” “In 2006, he was convicted of felony possession of a weapon in Oregon and sentenced to 40 days in jail and 36 months of probation, the complaint said.” “At the same time, Hopkins was also convicted of criminal impersonation of a peace officer and sentenced to 20 days in jail and 24 months of probation, the complaint said.” Wow, what a patriot (sarcasm). It sounds a lot like Hopkins and his militia group were just racist azzholes targeting families and covering it up by calling themselves patriots. Do YOU agree?
