This guy and his high beams: SACRAMENTO – Police say a California man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public after he jumped onto a Sacramento cop car wearing a sombrero and one boxing glove. Police say an officer was seated in his squad car around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday when 55-year-old Jesse James Thomas approached on foot, CBS Sacramento reports. Police say Thomas jumped onto the hood of the car, yelled his own name and then ran off. He was reportedly described wearing a dark puffy jacket, a sombrero and a boxing glove on his right hand. Thomas was soon found nearby lying in the street and subsequently arrested for public intoxication, reports CBS Sacramento. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on $1,000 bail. The LEAD HOMICIDE DETECTIVE wanted to press charges and was told by the higher ups (His Dad’s Folks) not to… everyone can see what this is: A police surveillance video taken the night that Trayvon Martin was shot dead shows no blood or bruises on George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who says he shot Martin after he was punched in the nose, knocked down and had his head slammed into the ground. The surveillance video, which was obtained exclusively by ABC News, shows Zimmerman arriving in a police cruiser. As he exits the car, his hands are cuffed behind his back. Zimmerman is frisked and then led down a series of hallways, still cuffed. Zimmerman, 28, is wearing a red and black fleece and his face and head are cleanly shaven. He appears well built, hardly the portly young man depicted in a 2005 mug shot that until a two days ago was the single image the media had of Zimmerman. Police Video Surveillance of George Zimmerman The initial police report noted that Zimmerman was bleeding from the back of the head and nose, and after medical attention it was decided that he was in good enough condition to travel in a police cruiser to the Sanford, Fla., police station for questioning. His lawyer later insisted that Zimmerman’s nose had been broken in his scuffle with 17-year-old Martin. In the video an officer is seen pausing to look at the back of Zimmerman’s head, but no abrasions or blood can be seen in the video and he did not check into the emergency room following the police questioning. Zimmerman was not arrested although ABC News has learned that the lead homicide investigator filed an affidavit urging Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter. The prosecutor, however, told the officer to not file the charge because there was not enough evidence for conviction. Zimmerman said he was heading back to his car when Martin attacked him. His lawyer, Craig Sonner, said his client felt “one of them was going to die that night,” when he pulled the trigger. Martin’s girlfriend, who was on the phone with him in his final moments, told ABC News in an exclusive interview that she has not been interviewed by police, despite Martin telling her he was being followed. The 16-year-old girl, who is only being identified as DeeDee, recounted the final moments of her conversation with Martin before the line went dead. “When he saw the man behind him again he said this man is going to do something to him. And then he said this man is still behind him and I said run,” she said. Phone records obtained by ABC News show that the girl called Martin at 7:12 p.m., five minutes before police arrived, and remained on the phone with Martin until moments before he was shot. DeeDee said Martin turned around and asked Zimmerman why he was following him. “The man said what are you doing around here?” DeeDee recalled Zimmerman saying. She said she heard someone pushed into the grass before the call was dropped. Zimmerman, who had called 911, was asked by the dispatcher if he was following the teen. When Zimmerman replied that he was, the dispatcher said, “We don’t need you to do that.” Martin’s death has sparked protests across the country and prompted President Obama to say that if he had a son, he would look like Martin. Man Who Cited False Teeth As Reason For His DUI Arrest Loses Appeal In Kansas Court The Kansas Court of Appeals didn’t bite on a man’s claim that his false teeth caused his arrest for driving while intoxicated. Gary Bolton, of Morris County, argued his dentures might have trapped alcohol in his mouth when he took a breath test in 2008. Court records show his blood alcohol level was 0.24, far above the 0.08 limit for driving under the influence. Bolton was trying to stop the state from suspending his driver’s license. He argued police should have made him remove his dentures before the test. But the appeals court ruled Friday that police had complied with a requirement that drivers be observed at least 20 minutes to allow mouth alcohol to dissipate and make sure nothing is put in their mouths. Robert Zimmerman, a former Orange County magistrate judge, recently wrote a letter to The Orlando Sentinel defending his son, who’s been dragged through the mud for shooting the unarmed 17-year-old last month. In the letter, the senior Zimmerman asks people not to jump to conclusions and insists that his son didn’t follow the young boy home as he walked through their gated community. “He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever. The media portrayal of George as a racist could not be further from the truth. At no time did George follow or confront Mr. Martin. When the true details of the event became public, and I hope that will be soon, everyone should be outraged by the treatment of George Zimmerman in the media,” wrote Robert Zimmerman. Now more info is being dug up on his “victimized” son through public records and revealing his checkered past. According to a records search on George, he was previously arrested for domestic violence, resisting an officer without violence and most shockingly, resisting an officer with violence — a felony charge that surely could have landed him in prison. All three of those arrests, however, were mysteriously closed with no semblance of charges for the Florida resident. So how was someone with a violent past including that of battery against an officer able to carry a 9 mm handgun? Maybe that’s a question Robert Zimmerman should answer. We need to do something about crazy people having children: A Dallas mother was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of cutting her 1-year-old daughter on her throat. Police said Danielle Busby called 911 and told operators she had cut her child. When officers arrived at the home in the 10900 block of Marchant Circle at about 6:30 a.m., they found the child had been cut with a knife. The child was transported to Children’s Medical Center, where she underwent surgery and was in intensive care Monday night. Doctors put the 1-year-old into a medically induced coma to give her body a chance to heal. “I’m sure that her mind is tormented, because she is the one who actually called the police after it happened,” said Rhonda Choice, Busby’s sister. “And I just can’t imagine what’s all going through her head right now.” Busby’s family said she is a diagnosed schizophrenic who has been on and off her medications. “If you look for the signs, you really can’t prevent it, you know, not on your own, not just family alone,” said Annette Choice, Busby’s mother. “You need intervention.” Police previously were called to the Lake Highlands home about Busby’s mental health. The first call dates back to 2003. Last week, Busby’s sister called police over fears that Busby could hurt herself or her daughter. The responding Dallas police officers determined that Busby and her daughter did not appear to be in any immediate danger. “All I can go by is that the officers who went to out to the scene … they did determine that there was nothing they could do about what was going on because apparently, at that time, there was not something going on that the officers could take any action on,” Deputy Chief Sherryl Scott said. Scott said the officers told a family member to contact Child Protective Services if there were fears about the child’s safety. “I blame the authorities that didn’t respond immediately with this,” Choice said. “And we are to blame, right now. We are to blame — the family is to blame.” Police were also called to the Lake Highlands home last summer. Police said Busby was running down the street, wearing only underwear. Busby, 32, is charged with injury to a child. She is currently being held at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center on $150,000 bail. Her family said she is a Southern Methodist University graduate, a former missionary and a math tutor. Choice said she is asking for prayers for both her daughter and granddaughter. “I love her,” she said. “I am praying for her, and I know she will get better. Hopefully, she’ll be back with her baby as much as possible.” The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services is expected to seek emergency custody of the girl Tuesday. Pastor Arrested For Beating Children With Belt Two brothers, ages 9 and 10, were beaten by a 36-year-old pastor, Jefferson Parish investigators said. Pastor Daniel Smith of Gretna was arrested after a mother told investigators Smith beat her two children instead of counseling the boys for misbehaving. According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, the two boys were misbehaving at Sunday morning services at a Marrero church on Ames Boulevard. After church, investigators said, the boys’ mom brought them to see the pastor for what she thought would be a counseling session. “Their mom said, ‘We’re going to let you see the pastor,’ because according to the mom, he would see the boys for counseling,” Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Glen Boyd said. The next day, JPSO said its detectives were called to Woodmere Elementary School in Marrero to look into a child cruelty complaint. One of the boys complained of soreness to the school nurse, and the nurse discovered several dark red bruises and abrasions on his abdomen, arm and back. “The mother trusted the pastor, and seemingly from the boys statement, he went too far,” Boyd said. The 10-year-old boy told detectives Smith beat him with a belt and that he cried and urinated on himself. Smith also beat his brother, JPSO said, but the boy’s injuries were not as severe. “According to the boys, the pastor asked him to raise his shirt and proceeded to beat him with a belt. His younger brother, 9 years old, was beaten as well, but not as severely,” Boyd said. The boys’ mother told investigators that as a single mother, she often seeks the pastor’s assistance with family counseling, but said that the pastor never physically disciplined her sons in the past and she had no knowledge he was going to beat them. Boyd said Smith was asked to remove his belt from his pants prior to being booked and uttered, “That’s not the belt I used to whip the boy.” Smith was placed under arrest and booked with cruelty to a juvenile and simple battery.
