Source: Mikhail Tereshchenko / Getty Dunkin’ Donuts Worker Made Up A Fake Employee To Collect Their Paychecks A Dunkin’ Donuts manager in Florida was arrested for allegedly hiring an employee that didn’t exist and then pocketing all of the checks that fake worker received, according to reports from WFLA . 29-year-old Markia Nelson, who works at the franchise’s Largo location, hired the fake employee on May 15. From May 16 up until this past Saturday in July, Nelson was keeping up the image that the employee was showing up for work every day — clocking in and out for them and logging a total of 235 hours, according to an arrest report obtained by the outlet. The “employee” earned $8.65 an hour and brought in total of $1,610.84 over the past couple of months. Nelson direct deposited all of the funds into her account, admitting that she used the extra money for her “life expenses.” The company that owns the franchise location was tipped off to the scam and ended up launchinf its own investigation, according to reports from FOX 13 . Once word of the scam reached the Pinellas Park Police Department, it was pretty much an open-and-shut case. Nelson ended up being arrested on Monday. “The employee never actually showed up to do any work, and when they researched the employee’s clock-in and clock-out times, they saw that it was her inputting it each time,” Pinellas Park police Sgt. Lonnie Lancto told the outlet. Nelson has so far only been charged with grand theft, but could face other charges, including identity theft. “She had the information [for the phony worker] who she said … was a friend of hers, so the information for the person was an actual person,” the sergeant told the outlet.
Last week, while most of us were gearing up for an Independence Day celebration or at least a nice day off, Jay Smith was in ICE custody . Now, his friend says that he sits in despair, never having experienced anything like this before. She also reveals the one thing that’s keeping him positive during this scary experience. … “He said it is hard in lockup,” Jay Smith’s friend, Kayla O’Brien, admits to In Touch Weekly . Jay’s friend explains that this is such a shock to him “because he’s never done anything like this before.” “[He said] sometimes you feel you are going crazy,” Kayla reveals. “But,” she notes. “He has been able to stay so positive.” Jay has only managed that “due to the amazing support of his family and friends.” “He is so thankful and appreciative,” Kayla expresses of Jay. “And,” she adds. “You can always hear it in his voice.” According to Kayla, “he knows how hard we are working for him.” “It’s been a wild, emotional ride,” she characterizes. “But,” she notes warmly. “He is most definitely hanging in there.” “He is so admirable,” Kayla gushes about Jay’s resolve behind bars. She cannot help but respect “how he has stayed so strong, so calm, so collected, and so positive.” “I am proud of him,” Jay’s friend concludes. Some would reply to this by sharing Kayla’s sentiments. Others may wonder how much of this is just thirst talking. “He will be deported on Aug. 7 unless he runs, which is what I’m assuming he’s probably [planning],” Ashley Martson shared in June. “The thing that’s really frustrating is he’s here illegally now …” she expressed. Ashley clarified: “I did file for his adjustment of status, and then two weeks later he screwed up again, so I withdrew it.” “ICE has already been here to arrest him. They know where he works,”Ashley noted. “I mean obviously, if they come to my house at this point, I’m gonna tell them where he’s at,” she made clear. Ashley concluded at the time: “So I’m not sure why he’s still sticking around because we got a letter three weeks ago saying he has an active warrant for his arrest.” But apparently Jay wasn’t willing to wait that long. Ashley has explained that, when she and her family left for a short vacation, Jay allegedly broke into her home. She contacted law enforcement, who advised her to obtain a PFA — an order for the Prevention From Abuse. Ashley did, and has told the world that there was “a lot of abuse” in her trounled marriage. She was granted the protection order on July 1. Jay violated it … on July 2. The PFA included a stipulation that Jay was not to speak publicly of the order. For some reason, he decided to discuss it in his Instagram Stories, which came to the attention of police. Even Ashley was heartbroken after he was ordered to surrender himself to authorities and was placed in ICE custody. He does have an upcoming hearing next week, on July 17. There, he will discuss violating the protective order. Clearly, Kayla would like to see him released from custody. Tori Roloff continues to be very open about her second pregnancy. The popular Little People, Big World star announced back in mid-May that she was expecting her second child. But Tori and Zach did even more than this at the time: they also announced the baby’s gender and approximate due date. “Zachary and I are so excited to announce that Jackson is going to be a big brother! We are expecting a sweet baby girl this November,” the tandem said this spring, adding as a message to fans: “Thank you so much for always supporting our family and loving us!” Since this time, Roloff has posted several snapshots her growing baby bump , telling followers that it’s bigger than it was at this stage with son Jackson and that she feels self-conscious about the excess weight. It’s a feeling to which millions of women around the globe can likely relate. Now, via her Instagram Stories page, Tori has basically provided fans with their very first glimpse at future Little Girl Roloff… … sonogram style! Tori didn’t include a caption along with this image, but what is there to say about it, really? We just appreciate Roloff being so constantly candid about her expecting state and her baby to come. Just a few days ago, she actually grew more honest than ever, admitting that her stomach made her feel fat and ugly , despite the miraculous reason why it has been growing at such a rapid rate. “This pregnancy has been a lot harder on me than the last,” Tori wrote on Instagram, careful not to throw herself too big of a pity party by adding: “Don’t get me wrong-I’ve been so lucky… im not sick (anymore) and I haven’t had any complications (thank the lord). However I have had a harder time accepting my body this go around. “I’ve gotten bigger a lot faster than I did with Jackson and I’ve become a lot more insecure.” To Roloff’s amazing credit, however, she is using this insecure feeling as a way to build up others in a similar situation. “Hearing people ask me if I’m sure it’s not twins definitely does not help (for all our sakes-don’t ever ask a woman this question. Like ever),” she continued. “It’s been hard to really enjoy this pregnancy because I’ve let my own body image issues get in the way. Us as women are so badass. Like we can grow babies.” It’s true, fellas. Never forget this. Concluded Tori in this post/message: And I know I need to give this up to God right and be thankful for this gift-and I’m trying trust me. But for all those women out there-pregnant or not- you need to hear this just like I do: you’re beautiful, you’re strong, and dang it love yourself no matter what. It’s rare that a week goes by without Jessa Duggar getting mom-shamed for some behavior or belief that her Instagram followers don’t agree with. But it’s just as rare for Jessa to take this much flak in the span of just a few days. Earlier this week, Jessa was criticized for denying her daughter a pacifier. Many of her followers felt that this was an unnecessarily cruel restriction which did not serve to benefit the child in any way. Yes, it’s only been 8 weeks since Jessa welcomed her third child , and that’s the sort of backlash she’s forced to contend with already. We suppose it’s not hard to see why she’s not taking it lying down. “I always nurse my babies on demand, so she has constant access to the ‘pacifier’ God designed,” Jessa responded when a follower asked why she’s so opposed to pacifiers. “I am her pacifier,” Jessa added. “I prefer it that way too … Nursing isn’t only for food, but for comfort and Mama’s closeness.” Eh … not all that wacky an explanation by Duggar standards, and “God’s pacifiers” is a hilarious way to refer to boobs, so we’ll allow it. Besides, we have new and equally weird Jessa parenting controversies to move on to. As you may know, the Duggars are very, very big on disciplining their children. And this means not only are the kids punished at a young age (sometimes with such controversial techniques as ” blanket training “), they also start helping out around the house at a very young age. Which explains why Jessa’s eldest — 3-year-old Spurgeon — is already working a vacuum cleaner: Spurgeon Seewald Does Chores The Duggars have taken flak for their perceived unwillingness to let kids be kids, which may explain why Jessa decided to get in front of that criticism by posting a lengthy explanation for the video above: “There’s a window of time in the toddler years where little ones become eager to help,” she wrote. “It’s so sweet to watch their excitement as they are allowed to take part in meaningful tasks— not pretend ‘helping,’ but really doing something that helps out the whole family,” she added. “Playing together is fun, but even the cleanup can be fun if we do it together. There’s a sense of importance and belonging and being needed.” Jessa went on to explain that she doesn’t encourage her kids to help because it saves her time in effort — in fact, she claims the reverse is true: “Sometimes as a mom I have to pause and remember this,” she stated. “Yes, it may take 5x longer than if I did it myself, but they find it exciting to help out and lend a hand,” Jessa continued. “We definitely need to encourage this and not squelch the excitement. “My mom modeled this beautifully. ‘There’s a window of time where they’re eager to help. Capture it. Don’t squelch it.’” Must be quite an honor for Michelle Duggar to receive such a loving tribute from her daughter. Of course, Michelle was such a strict disciplinarian that it’s possible Jessa is still afraid of her! Most recently, it’s being reported that the actor is going to join the cast of Space Jam 2 . According to reports from Deadline , Don Cheadle is going to be apart of LeBron James’ sequel to the famous NBA and Looney Tunes crossover. As of now, though, what his actual role will be in the long-anticipated reboot is not known. As for who won’t be in the movie, we learned recently that the one-and-only Stephen A Smith is on the list–and of course, since we’re talking about Stephen A Smith here, he made his stance on not being apart of the film very well known by tweeting out his thoughts. This week, notoriously unlikeable twonk Piers Morgan launched a verbal attack on Duchess Meghan Markle. He demanded that she “go back to America” if she was going to have the audacity to ask for privacy while attending her friend’s tennis match. Well that friend, Serena Williams, is speaking out, and she may have the best advice in the world when it comes to Piers and his ilk. Duchess Meghan attended The Championships in Wimbledon, where her Serena Williams was playing against Kaja Juvan. Serena is, in addition to being the greatest athletes on the planet, good friends with Meghan. Unfortunately, what should have been a simple outing became controversial after a rumor surfaced. The rumor claimed that Meghan had asked her protection officers to ask that people not take her photo. She wasn’t there as a member of the British royal family, but as a friend watching her friend play on the court. E! News reports that, when they asked Serena if Meghan should ignore her haters and continue on, Serena Williams had a stunning reply. Serena apparently “didn’t know there was negative media out there.” To be clear, she knows that it regularly exists. But she doens’t pay attention — not even to headlines. “Any time I see her name attached to anything,” Serena reveals. “I don’t read it,” Unlike the British press, who have had a field day printing insults and outright lies about the Duchess for years now, Serena has nothing but praise for Meghan. “She couldn’t be a better friend to me,” Serena shares. Even though she’s a newly married royal and a new mother, Serena says that Meghan doesn’t play games about being there to support her friends. Serena notes: “Low moments, high moments — she’s always there.” “That’s all I want to be to her,” she expresses. It’s good that Meghan has famous friends who have her back — just as she has theirs. It wasn’t just a few disgruntled fans who were allegedly asked to point their cameras in another direction that caused a stir. Professional blowhard Piers Morgan went on an unhinged rant on Good Morning Britain . (Really — it’s bad enough that he’s allowed to speak at all, but do they really have to pay him for it?) He demanded that Meghan “go back to America” if she wanted some privacy. The brainless twonk’s words struck a nerve with a lot of people — including his own cohost. For one thing, obviously, that’s an absurd demand, particularly to make of a woman who just married Prince Harry and birthed his child. But for another, Piers’ words seemed eerily reminiscent of an all-too-common racial insult hurled at black people in America and in the UK: “Go back to Africa.” The fact that he chose to excoriate the royal family’s only adult black member did not escape people’s notice. A lot of the tabloids that have invented nasty lies about Meghan have done so because she’s black and she’s American. Racists (and brits with Anti-American sentiments) will click, and then the tabloids profit while the bigots get their daily fix of rage. Serena has a good attitude about these things: if you know that it’s negative ragebait, just don’t click. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t keep coming to THG for less malicious coverage. Source: Image Group LA / Getty Descendants 3 Premiere Gets Canceled In Honor Of Cameron Boyce Disney announced on Thursday that they have canceled the red carpet premiere for Descendants 3 after the untimely death of actor and star Cameron Boyce . “We’re proud to be part of Cameron Boyce’s legacy by showcasing his talents on screen but we are canceling the red carpet premiere event for Descendants 3 and instead, The Walt Disney Company will make a donation to the Thirst Project, a philanthropic organization to which Cameron was deeply committed,” Disney said in a statement. The red carpet was originally scheduled for July 22. The Thirst Project is a nonprofit organization that aims to work with young people to end the global water crisis. Boyce passed away suddenly on July 6 after suffering from an epileptic seizure at his California home at the age of 20. Disney concluded, “With permission from the Boyce family, Disney Channel will dedicate the telecast of Descendants 3 in Cameron Boyce’s memory.” Descendants 3 is set to premiere on the Disney Channel on August 2. Jeremy Roloff officially has two babies on the way. One of them is an actual baby, as the former reality star and wife Audrey announced this month that they’re expecting a second child . The other, as we just learned, is a professional baby; a new project about which Jeremy sounds very excited and about which he has now written extensively on Instagram. “As most of you know, I love photography,” Jeremy wrote to open this announcement, continuing as follows: “It’s always been a passion of mine, so much so that I studied it professionally and received a bachelors degree in professional photography and after school continue to pursue commercial photography in Los Angeles.” Jeremy, of course, walked away from Little People, Big World just about a year ago. He and Audrey emphasized at the time, however, that fans would be seeing them plenty and hearing from them a lot over the subsequent few months. And, boy, have they been correct! Audrey and Jeremy now host a podcast and recently landed on the New York Times bestseller list with their memoir, “A Love Letter Life.” Jeremy isn’t content, though. He’s adding another line to his ever-growing resume. “Audrey and I [have been] dreaming of working together and combing our talents in a more specific way,” he writes now. “Once we finally took the leap, I started doing most of our Always More shoots, all of our photo management, and most of our design work. Late last month, Amy Roloff made the astute observation that social media is not real . Many users out there pretend to be happy by sharing photos of them smiling or traveling or doing something cool when, in reality, these folks are living very regular lives or, sometimes, very un happy lives. Now, meanwhile, the long-time reality star has made headlines for saying something else is not real… … Little People, Big World itself! Amy has starred on the TLC program since the very beginning. It features her, ex-husband Matt and now, after son Jeremy left the series last summer, daughter-in-law Tori and another son, Zach. For the most part, Little People, Big World has been a huge success not because it depicts a great deal of drama between these Roloffs — but because it simply gives viewers an inside look at a cute family that seems to love each other a lot. But this isn’t always the case. And Amy just cited an example of when producers edited footage to make it appear as if something scandalous was afoot… when everything was actually just fine and dandy. On the most recent season, cameras followed Amy during a vacation she took with boyfriend Chris Marek. “I’m definitely enjoying the trip, but we did get into an argument,” Amy said at one point on this episode, adding: “When we were having dinner, he just left, and he was gone for a long time, and I was left by myself. I had no idea where he was, what we was doing… Ugh, I was so mad at him.” Fast forward to yesterday and the pictures – above and below – that Amy shared from a motorcycle ride she recently took with Marek, her serious boyfriend of about three years. When one fan asked: “Did he leave you alone in a restaurant again?” Amy replied: “No, and it’s amazing what editing can make a story into.” Wow, huh? This may not seem like a huge deal, but you almost never hear of a cast member flat-out admitting that the very show on which she stars is, essentially, fake. We can’t help but wonder how TLC executives are reacting to this quote. Not that it’s the first time such a thing has happened. Back in July of 2016, Jacob Roloff walked away from Little People, Big World, trashing his family members and also this same sort of editing in the process. “For the sake of ‘the episode’ and ratings I’ve seen a lot of STORYLINES drawn up (loosely) about our lives,” Jacob confessed at the time , adding in even more accusatory detail: “And when I was standing here, behind the scenes and watching it from an outside perspective I just couldn’t stop laughing. Laughing at how hard the producers have to try to get us to follow the talking points, and at how ridiculous the talking points are.” He even added: “The family that is filmed is not my famil. They are the Roloff Characters and I have scarcely anything in common with them, nor do I want to be a character myself.” Jacob has since made up with his loved ones, although he never really took back these remarks and no longer appears on the show. As for Amy? She’s been throwing unexpected haymakers all over the place these days! In a section of her new memoir, for example, Amy says Matt cheated on her with current girlfriend Caryn Chandler . “Matt and our farm manager, who had been working for us a number of years by then, seemed to have more than just a working relationship or friendship,” Roloff writes in this biography, adding in one charged chapter: “I saw messages, pictures, and other things that should not have been shared between people who just worked together and were still married to other people. “I was devastated.” Between this passage and Amy’s comment about how the series is edited… we’re suddenly more excited than ever for the new season of Little People, Big World.
