Perhaps this is why women of color are shy to dawn the most infamous shade of lipstick? In fact, too often women of color have been told that red doesn’t suite them. I was once interviewed as a celebrity makeup artist by one of New York City’s leading radio personalities who blatantly told me on-air that dark skinned women shouldn’t wear red lipstick . Well. In this 21 st century, and on Al Gore’s internet, I’m here to remind you that nothing has ever been more un-freaking-true. The holidays are upon us and although you damn sure don’t need any reason at all to wear a red lip, I know so many of you are easing your way into this thing with caution and looking for the perfect excuse. Let’s explore some of my go-to reds for every hue of melanated women.

Alexis Crawford , the missing 21-year-old Clark Atlanta senior, has been found dead. 11 Alive reports that the news came from Rev. Markel Hutchins whose been representing Alexis’ family since her disappearance. He told 11Alive the family was recently notified. Family and friends were hopeful that Alexis would be found after noting that they spoke to her multiple times on October 30, the day of her disappearance. Alexis’ roommate also told police that she dropped Alexis off at a local liquor store before Alexis returned home and then left again in the middle of the night. CBS 46 is now reporting that the roommate and the roommate’s boyfriend confessed to Alexis’ murder. Breaking News Update: Clark Atlanta Student Alexis Crawford's body has been found. According to the San Francisco Chronicle , Airbnb , under intense pressure and a lot of bad PR, has finally decided to pay for the funerals of those murdered in the Orinda shooting. A statement released by Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky announced that the company has budgeted funds for not only the funerals but also counseling for the families. What happened on Thursday night in Orinda, CA was horrible. I feel for the families and neighbors impacted by this tragedy – we are working to support them. — Brian Chesky (@bchesky) November 2, 2019 Chesky’s above tweet prompted some card-pullin’ and receipt-wavin’ from lawyer Jesse Danoff who represents the family of Raymon Hill Jr. He said his law firm “wants the public to know that in no way has Airbnb done anything to support the family of Mr. Hill.” He said the family asked Airbnb to cover funeral expenses but got no response. “They haven’t even reached out to apologize,” Danoff said in the statement. “They have merely responded in public with platitudes and thoughts and prayers or have made nebulous promises to ‘do better’ and ‘improve trust.’” And. I. Oop. Shortly after Danoff let the yoppa speak, Chesky called and offered to pay. An offer Danoff calls “reactionary”. Despite the company’s offer, Danoff said his law firm, Mitchell, will sue Airbnb for negligence that caused “a grave and serious risk to life.” “We’re looking to have the family compensated for what was a senseless death of their family member,” Danoff said. Gonna take more than a half-dozen caskets and flowers to push past this one. Chesky better be ready to back the truck up.

Reports say that the singer and entrepreneur is angling for a meeting with President Donald Trump in an attempt to pardon former Death Row Records boss, Suge Knight . Daily Mail exclusively reports : Sources tell DailyMailTV the 38-year-old Love & Hip Hop star has been lobbying for Trump to pardon rapper and friend Marion ‘Suge’ Knight, who was convicted of manslaughter in 2018. Knight, 54, was sentenced to 28 years behind bars for injuring Cle Sloan and killing Terry Carter after running over both men at a burger drive-thru in January 2015. He was originally facing 11 years in prison, but his sentence was later doubled under California’s three-strikes law based on his prior convictions. An additional six years was also added for using a vehicle as a deadly weapon in a ‘serious and violent’ felony. A source close to the singer says he is now hoping the president will pardon Knight for his crimes because he believes his friend has learned from his mistakes and is ready to turn over a new leaf. The body of a missing Clark Atlanta University student was found in a park in Dekalb County on Friday, more than a week after she was first reported missing. Alexis Crawford ‘s body was discovered in a park off Columbia Drive. She was last seen by her family on October 30 and she had previously reported unwanted kissing and touching from her roommate’s boyfriend, according to Atlanta Police’s Erika Shields . She went missing three days later, prompting a massive outpour on social media as to finding her whereabouts. According to CBS46 , sources say the roommate and her boyfriend allegedly confessed to playing a role in Crawford’s disappearance. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has seemingly come up with an explanation for why he allegedly assaulted Jen Harley several weeks ago. In a new social media post, the polarizing Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star appears to address his violent ex-girlfriend and he appears to justify his recent behavior by basically saying the following: Hey, you did it first! As loyal readers likely know at this point, Ronnie was arrested in early October after he reportedly threatened Harley with a knife. He supposedly did this after the two got into an explosive argument and right before he swiped the occasional couple’s young daughter, Ariana, out of Harley hands. According to the police report filed at the time, Ronnie then locked himself inside of a home he and Harley were renting, refusing to open the door when the police arrived. The authorities therefore had to knock said door down and tase Ronnie in order to take him into custody. The reality star now faces one full year in prison after he was hit with seven misdemeanors , which include the following charges: One count of domestic violence. One count of brandishing a weapon. One count of child endangerment. One count of resisting arrest. Another count of resisting arrest. One count of willful and unlawful criminal threats. One count of false imprisonment. Ronnie has said very little in the wake of this scandal, although insiders close to the muscle-bound father claim he was just protecting Ariana and that Harley was actually the drunk one placing the toddler in danger. Now, however, it certainly appears as if Ronnie has something to say. Something very immature to say, we should emphasize. “First I treat you how I want to be treated. But then I treat you how you treat me,” Ronnie wrote this week, managing to both confuse followers and stir up a great deal of concern as well. Is Ronnie really trying to justify his behavior by stating that Harley abused him first? We mean, that is sort of accurate. Harley was arrested last year for dragging Ortiz-Magro down the street by her car and then also hurled a glass ashtray at his head this past New Year’s Eve. She was never charged with any crime, however, and obviously didn’t serve any jail time as a result. But still: You did it first is the kind of defense made by a second-grader, and certainly not something that should ever be said in the wake of an assault charge. Ronnie, meanwhile, seemed far more at peace with everything not long before writing out the above quote, writing: At some point you have to let go of what you think should happen and live in what’s happening. Every moment matters. Wherever you are, be all there. Enjoy it all. The point of power’s always in the present moment. Amen, Ronnie. Now go leave Harley alone and just be there for your kid, dude. David Eason is dangerous and violent and capable of practically anything. This should not exactly read as a shocking statement to anyone familiar with the Teen Mom universe, considering the former reality star has admitted to SHOOTING AND KILLING HIS FAMILY’S BULLDOG . And yet: A new photo released by Eason himself perhaps drives this frightening point home as strongly as ever. The controversial homophobe shared a picture (above) on Thursday of himself and 11-year old daughter Maryssa at a local fair, captioning the image with the very basic: “It’s the fair!” It’s something, alright. Eason was obviously trying to paint himself as a responsible father by posting the snapshot, attempting to combat all the negative rumors that continue to float around the Internet about him, his attitude and his overall behavior. But the dude totally failed. “SHE LOOKS UNCOMFORTABLE,” one person commented,” while another simply left a one-word response we’re all thinking: “Scary.” “Drop her off at the fair,” read a third message from a concerned commenter. “Don’t go with her and her friend!!!” (If only.) And yet another Instagram user studied the expression on the young girl’s face and wrote: “Her eyes say it all.” “She’s not a happy young lady.” This comment actually prompted a response from Eason, who clapped back in his typically abhorrent fashion: “Are you speaking for yourself oooor does someone need to show you a mirror?” Eason, of course, is right smack dab back in the news these days. Jenelle Evans finally filed for divorce from her awful husband. Or, to be more specific, she finally told followers that she plans to file for divorce. “With time away from Teen Mom, I’ve started to look at my life differently and I know I need to make changes. I’m starting that now,” the former MTV star wrote on Instagram on October 31. Fans were left to wonder what she meant by this. But then Jenelle clarified: The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I’ve filed papers to start that process. I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked how I am. Me and the kids are doing great. We need some time to be together, but you’ll hear from us again soon. We haven’t heard much from Evans since, with the major exception of her having just obtained a restraining order against Eason. For the time being, Davis is banned from getting close to either his estranged wife or any of Jenelle’s three kids, the youngest of whom she shares with Eason. Maryssa, for those wondering, if Eason’s child from a previous relationship. She’s often forgotten about when websites report on all this drama – but she’s only 11 years old and is stuck with Eason as her dad and is deserving of our sympathy and attention. On Tuesday, meanwhile, Eason wrote on Facebook that he would be filing a missing persons report with the police because Evans and daughter Ensley “disappeared,” prompting Jenelle to seek this temporary restraining order against Eason. She was granted the order, and the filings revealed that Eason’s threats have against her “escalated” over the past few days. It takes a lot for us to feel bad for Jenelle Evans, but Eason has managed to pull it off of late with his general terribleless. “Because of his recent threats, his history of violence, his erratic behavior and his large stockpile of weapons, I am scared for my life and my children’s well-being,” Jenelle wrote in her recent legal papers. As the saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Vanderpump Rules Season 8 doesn't debut on Bravo until January 7, but a new trailer released today reveals that the show is attempting a tricky balancing act by mixing some fresh new faces with the SURvers we already know and … well, love is a strong word. Tolerate, maybe? Anyway, most reality shows start showing signs of age around the season-8 mark, which is probably why producers decided to inject some new blood into the proceedings. But the OG cast claims they brought plenty of drama in their own right over the summer — in fact, they say this is the show's most dramatic season yet. Given what we've learned so far — and the fact that fans are already calling for Jax Taylor to be fired — we're inclined to believe them. In September, Mike Sorrentino was finally freed from prison , and was able to reunite with his wife and friends. Jersey Shore: Family Vacation 's cameras were there to capture it all, and it's all part of this teaser trailer for the new season. On top of that, the trailer teases tears, a consultation with a psychic, and some diametrically opposed parties. The teaser trailer begins with a shocking moment as Snooki “Who do you call? 911? Oh, my God!” she asks while kneeling in the grass. We then see Deena Cortese weeping openly, though the context remains unknown. Deena says: “I won’t be able to live with myself.” Viewers are then shown Angelina Pavarnick running, and it's presumably not to fellate an orange buffoon . This is when Pauly D is heard saying: “Where's Angelina? She's an EMT.” Vinny then says that what happened was just an “accident” and assures Deena that she “had no control over it.” So it sounds like someone — possibly not a human, given some odd reacitons — was injured or killed. Maybe a bird? In a presumably unrelated moment, the gang seeks advice from a psychic woman. Some of her advice elicits a positive reaction, but not everything goes over well. We then see this same psychic speaking to Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, giving him some secondhand advice. “The spirit made me feel like if you don’t make this happen, then it’s not gonna end well,” she tells him. Then it's time for Jenni to celebrate her divorce. Divorce parties are mostly just a thing for reality stars, if largely because regular people getting divorced seldom have a budget for a party. But she even wears a tiara as her friends toast the end of the marriage. They all hop aboard what Pauly D refers to as a “DTF Wagon” as they party in town and go clubbing. On the flip side, the trailer shows the mounting hype for Angelina to marry fiance Chris Larangeira. We even get a sneak peek at her wedding dress. Deena and Snooki join Angelina to party it up in New Orleans to celebrate what's coming. Notably, we don't see JWoww involved, though with the kind of heavyhanded editing that teaser trailers get, that could mean anything. Celebrating one friend's divorce and another's impending nuptials in a single season is not lost on the gang. “If I’m DJing her wedding,” Pauly D vows. “I’m not giving her the divorce party for free.” Well, in that case, let us hope that Angelina has many years to save up. It is admittedly awkward to cheer for two diametrically opposed milestones, but that's life. Here's where things get exciting — and emotional. Lauren Sorrentino picks up her husband, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, from prison. He not only reunited with his wife, but with his friends, whom he had sorely missed while behind bars. “Life could get no better,” Mike gushes to the camera. (Awwww!) We're all so thrilled to see Mike back with his wife and friends and loved ones, where he belongs.
Jade Cline is still relatively new to the world of Teen Mom stardom. After starring in a single season of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant, Cline was selected to replace Jenelle Evans on Teen Mom 2 after Evans was finally fired. So while, she’s been in the spotlight for a couple years, Jade just experienced a major boost to her public profile. Going from a first-year spinoff to a popular, long-running series like Teen Mom 2 is like being called up to the majors. As a result, Jade is making more money, and she’s more popular than ever on social media. That may sound like an unimportant side effect of fame, but the increased following brings with it the opportunity to make big bucks from sponsored content. Unfortunately, it also means Jade has more haters than ever before. And these days, she’s being compared to one of the most reviled Teen Moms of all time — Farrah Abraham. During her time on Teen Mom OG, Farrah continued to perform in online sex shows , a decision that eventually got her fired from the show. (In reality, she was probably canned because producers were sick of being abused by her, but the Cam Soda partnership provided a convenient excuse.) Now, Jade is being accused of following in Farrah’s footsteps by partnering with an adult toy company. On Thursday, Cline invited her fans to enter a giveaway for a chance to win three free vibrators. “Hey guys! I’ll be partnering with [Vush] this week to put together an amazing giveaway bundle to one of my followers! Stay tuned! Will be posting the giveaway and how to enter this week on my page,” Cline later offered specifics — along with the photo below, in which she can be seen showing off Vush’s wares. “3x Vibrator bundles from Vush to 3 lucky people in the comment section,” Jade wrote. “Each bundle includes The Empress, Your Majesty and The Rose! Another Farrah in the making!” another echoed. “Y’all really have to come up with better insults,” Cline replied. She’s right about that. For one, there’s a major difference between what Farrah did (making a career in the adult film business and falsely claiming that her debut feature was a privately-filmed “sex tape”) and what Jade is doing — which is just a slight variation on what most reality stars do on their social media pages. From the start, Jade was upfront about the whole thing. Rather than attempt to Trojan Horse in ad into what appears to be a regular post, she stated at the outset that she’s promoting products for Vush. There’s no sneakiness involved, so is it really just the nature of the products that has people pissed off? WTF? Is Jade starring on Teen Mom 2 or Counting On? Fortunately, Cline has received a good deal of support from fans who aren’t embarrassing prudes. “People act like they have never seen a sex toy before,” one fan remarked.
