Source: Jun Sato / Getty The executives over at FOX have revealed how they will have Jussie Smollett ’s character make a smooth exit from the series Empire. “He’s on his honeymoon,” entertainment president Michael Thorn told The Wrap at the Television Critics Association press tour. “He’s on his honeymoon and working on some projects abroad… that’s how we hear about him at the beginning of the season.” Thorn added that they have already started shooting the episodes for the final season and the writers haven’t decided what else will be added to Jamal’s story. Smollett was fired from the FOX series after he was accused of staging a hate crime against himself, recruiting two people who he had worked with and paid for fitness services to be a part of the scheme. Smollett had even did an interview with where he described the alleged attack in detail and even dubbed himself “the gay Tupac” after he “survived” the ordeal. After his investigation played out in the media, Smollett became a casuality of the cancel culture. While some celebs and fans stood with him, many others poked fun at him (i.e Chris Rock at the NAACP Image Awards ) and dismissed him. Smollett has been lowkey since the scandal has died down. But now the 31-year-old woman is being warned to watch her back after marrying a man whose famous ex-wife says he’s up to NO good. Pamela Long from 90’s singing group Total tells The Neighborhood Talk that she believes her ex-husband Jamie Long preyed with on Cyntoia for attention. Long claims to be a ”Christian rapper”, and formerly a band member in the group Pretty Ricky (have ya’ll ever heard of him???). Well, apparently he and Cyntoia are a married couple. Their marriage ended in 2018. She also states that he was unfaithful throughout their marriage and expressed her concerns for Cyntoia going forward. “This man is diabolical and he is such a manipulator. The way this man pursued this woman is the way he did me. He came and found me using the same card, “He was a Christian artist,” said Pamela. “May the Lord God protect her and her money. It’s about who she is in the public eye and what she has. By her having this face in the media it helps him to have a chance to be around what he deems as the elites,” she exclaimed. “Mr. Long may be able to hide behind his handsome looks of being a good man, but God knows the heart and exposure is coming.” Interesting. Bethenny Frankel Honors Dennis Shields, Pays Tribute to Late Ex

Bethenny Frankel wishes she did not need to take to Instagram yesterday. She wishes things were different. She really wishes August 10 would not be a date forever seared into her mind, for the most terrible and tragic of reasons. But this is reality for the veteran Bravo star and reality is that Bethenny’s ex-boyfriend, Dennis Shields, died one year ago yesterday. In his memory and in his honor, Frankel penned a heartwarming tribute to Shield online several hours ago. “One year ago today, I woke up to a beautiful sunny day with @biggysmallz by the pool, and my world crumbled and turned upside down in an instant,” the Real Housewife wrote to open a caption that accompanied the photo below. It continued: “A man Dennis, who I loved and respected, who was in my life for 30 years unexpectedly passed away.” Shields was found dead in his Trump Tower apartment last August. He was only 51 years old at the time and he had been in and out of Bethenny’s life for years; the two may not have been dating when Dennis actually died, but they remained very close. According to The New York Post, Shields passed away due to a prescription pills overdose. Referencing her two well-known dogs, Frankel continued in her tribute on Saturday: Dennis insisted we adopt biggy AND smallz for my daughter Peanut. He simply couldn’t imagine separating them. We racked our brains staying up late coming up with the perfect name for two dogs from the same litter with very different body types. Thing 1 & Thing 2 was an option but Peanut found it degrading. Lenny & Squiggy was a good one but I knew it would only appeal to the over 40 set. Then at 5am, Dennis was waiting for me to wake up and in his stronger than Tequila New Yawk accent said “BIGGY AND SMALLZ” and two stars were born. He loved these dogs and the feelings were mutual. They were particularly fond of his salty bald head. According to TMZ last summer, Shields told paramedics and police in his final moments that he had taken his prescribed oxycodone and Vicodin, along with a sleeping pill. He was simply trying to address persistent pain in his back. Alas, the combination of these drugs proved fatal in the end. Added Frankel 365 days later: “At times, it seemed like he and [the dogs] spoke the same language and they were the only ones who understood him. He was a loving, sweet, gentle, brilliant, complicated, hilarious, creative and supportive man. “He is missed terribly by so many but lives on in his friends and family and furry loved ones.” Concluded Bethenny: “I am a different person and in a different emotional place than I was a year ago, and the wounds have begun to heal but the scar will remain on my heart forever.” In closing, Frankel simply wrote: RIP, August 10. #Unforgettable May Dennis Shields rest in peace.

Chicago Nonprofit Aims To Combat Diabetes Within The Black Community

A frican Americans are disproportionately affected by the growing diabetes epidemic. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services , Black adults are 80 percent more likely than whites to be diagnosed with diabetes. A new Chicago-based nonprofit is striving to reverse the alarming trend. According to Black News , The Suga Project is creating a space to foster conversations surrounding ways to combat Type 2 diabetes and the overall importance of Black health. The organization—which was founded by Natalie Pauls —was established to provide resources for African Americans who are battling diabetes and for others who want to get involved in addressing the epidemic. Cognizant of the rising numbers of Black folks who are affected by the disease, Pauls wanted to create a platform where they could feel empowered and supported. The Suga Project provides informative courses that teach individuals how to lead healthier lifestyles. “The numbers are startling,” Pauls said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “African Americans are four times more likely to have an amputation due to diabetes complications. African American women are dying at rates greater than any other group of women in history.” The organization’s overarching goal is to see a decrease in the number of diabetes cases within the Black community. Several individuals and organizations are working to spread awareness about diabetes amongst African Americans. Earlier this year actress Viola Davis teamed up with the pharmaceutical company Merck to narrate a documentary titled A Touch of Sugar that captures how the disease is impacting communities across the country. “I’m one of the 84 million American adults living with prediabetes and I’m sharing my story for the first time in an effort to inspire others to take action against the type 2 diabetes epidemic,” she said in a statement about the film. “When you look at the facts, there’s nothing harmless about diabetes – it’s a chronic disease that needs to be taken seriously if we’re going to get it under control.” SEE ALSO: Viola Davis Spreads Awareness About Diabetes Through New Documentary GirlTrek Movement Inspires Black Women To Take Charge Of Their Health [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3459090″ overlay=”true”]

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Black Ink Crew’s Ceaser Arrested For Driving With Fake License According to TMZ , “Black Ink Crew” head honcho Ceaser Emanuel was arrested Friday in NYC after police officers say they witnessed him blow a red light and fail to yield to pedestrians while driving through a residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. Cops immediately pulled him over and asked him to produce a license at the scene. Cease allegedly handed one over that read “Emanuel Thomas” with a date of birth that was off by 8 years, saying he was born in June 1971 as opposed to his real DOB, 1979. Not only was he riding dirty, but he also failed to produce a valid insurance card, so he was arrested on the spot and booked for misdemeanor false impersonation and other traffic violations.

Colin Dowler was mountain biking on a logging road and exploring potential routes in the remote backcountry of British Columbia, when he bent the corner and ran into a grizzly bear. 'I felt the grizzly bear's teeth grinding bone as I fought it off with a pocket knife' https://t.co/vt2YPHHrLp — The Sun (@TheSun) August 9, 2019 BBC reports: He was hoping that like most bears, it would prefer to avoid human contact and head back into the woods. He was about 100ft (30 metres) from the bear – “too close in my opinion”, he told the BBC by phone from his hospital bed. As he was considering what to do, the animal kept walking towards him at what seemed a natural pace. After the bear started taking heavy swipes at him, he threw his bike at it, but undeterred the bear bit him in the stomach, then picked him up and dropped him into a ditch, roughly 50ft (15 metres) away, before taking deep bites into his thighs. But how the hell did he survive that? The article added: After trying to gouge out the bear’s eyes and briefly playing dead, he managed to reach for his pocket knife and stab the bear in the neck with its two-inch blade. There was a rush of blood and the bear let go and retreated. Losing blood and needing to find help, he put pressure on his wounded leg using a shirt sleeve and cycled four and a half miles to a logging camp, where he collapsed. Fortunately, there were workers on site to treat his wound and give him a blood transfusion. The 45-year is old is currently in Vancouver hospital, slowly but surely recovering from the vicious attack. What a brave bul.
