My Bieber Experience started almost a year ago; June 29, 2010 to be exact. I’ve known about Justin since January of 2009, which was just before he got famous. Little did I know how big of a deal he was going to be! On June 29, 2010 I saw him perform with my best friends in Minneapolis at the Target Center! It was an amazing performance and he seemed so excited since it was one of his very first concerts on his My World tour. I became obsessed! Fast forward to February of 2011, I became obsessed again. I found out he was going on tour and thought MAYBE just MAYBE I’d get to go to a concert out of the country! I saw ‘Never Say Never’ and told my dad how badly I wanted to meet him. A week later he texted me and told me he found front row seats! I was FREAKING OUT. Then I saw where it was. AUSTRALIA. MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA. I was internally dying. I stayed up until 4 am almost every single day for the next two weeks begging him to take me. I was losing hope fast and then one night he said “Let’s look ONE LAST TIME!” We had found the tickets on eBay and he said “Let’s look under this section.” It was called ‘Starred/Purchased’ or something like that. Under ‘Purchased’ was two front row tickets to see JUSTIN BIEBER IN MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA ON MAY 2, 2011. I started SCREAMING. I couldn’t believe I was going to see JUSTIN FREAKING BIEBER FRONT ROW. IN AUSTRALIA. So Friday, April 29, 2011, we flew 21 hours all the way to AUSTRALIA. I was seriously in so much shock I couldn’t even believe it. The concert was just incredible and I had an AMAZING time meeting tons of girls. I also met Kenny and Alfredo! And Moses! I was so excited and happy. Once I got home, I realized I probably would not meet him and became depressed. Two weeks after we got home, my dad found a Benefit Concert in the Bay Area of California on JUNE 11. Which was THREE DAYS before my fourteenth birthday. We had already agreed Australia was my present but once we found Meet and Greets for sale, that was the end of it. We HAD TO GO. One problem. The last meet and greet package for 2 had been sold two hours before we asked to buy them. I was devastated and upset the entire day. About a week and a half later, my dad surprised me saying we had GOTTEN THE MEET AND GREETS! I began shaking and sobbing, calling all of my friends. All of them were freaking out! Friday, June 10 came slowly, and soon we got on yet, ANOTHER PLANE for Justin Bieber! We flew to San Francisco. As soon as the clock hit midnight, I screamed “I’M MEETING JUSTIN BIEBER TODAY!” I woke up three times during the night feeling sick out of nervousness and woke up before 8 am. I got my hair done, and then went shopping, which is when a random guy looked at me and said, “Anything is possible if you just believe.” I kinda just nodded my head because I was extremely confused, but I knew it had to be a sign that the whole #NEVERSAYNEVER thing was completely true. I was so so so nervous and I barely ate anything the entire day. I literally was shaking for 24 hours in complete anticipation and nervousness that I was about to meet my idol and THE most famous person in the entire WORLD. I had an extra meet and greet pass and was trying to find someone to give it to, so when I saw that @BieberFitch was going to the concert. I immediately tweeted her saying I had an extra one! She was going with her friend who had never met him, but she had twice, so she wanted me to give it to Jazmyn instead! We got to the Saratoga Winery and I was waiting for them but they were running late so I left the M&G pass with someone else to give to Jazmyn. I got in line for the M&G. We all got in line. It was almost time. We were the next people to go in and meet him. I saw his shadow and started freaking out. When the guy opened the curtain I saw Justin and literally just froze. He pushed me and told me to go in. To calm my nerves, I went up to Kenny and said “Nice to meet you again, I met you last month in Australia!” and he said “Oh, nice to meet you again too!”. Then there was Justin. He told me to come get in the picture. I walked over to the right side of him and he put his arm around me. I remember how I felt. Like “Oh my God this is JUSTIN BIEBER TOUCHING ME.” It’s the coolest feeling in the world. I know I look kind of stupid in the picture, but I was so shocked. Before he even took his arm off me, I looked at him and asked for a hug. He said “Yes, of course!” and he moved his arm and gave me a really good hug. He felt so warm and he smelled absolutely AMAZING, like vanilla sort of? His short was so soft and I did NOT WANT TO LET GO. He let me go and I was just so giddy and happy and freaking out and then I had to walk away and I started yelling “Oh! By the way I went all the way to Australia last month just for your concert!” His eyes got big and he went “DID YOU LIKE IT?” with the most adorable look on his face and I screamed “YES!” and I’m like “Oh! I’m also from Minnesota!” and he said “Thank you so much!”. I walked out and started SOBBING and hyperventilating. Later, I met Scooter Braun, Carin, Jon M Chu (who signed my First Step 2 Forever book!), Dan Kanter, Ryan Good, MC Hammer, and MC’s sons! MC & one of his son’s also signed my book! I saw Kenny twice after that and said Hi both times, and I also saw his mom and Alfredo! Honestly, meeting Justin is the coolest feeling a person can feel. #NEVERSAYNEVER. This is how my MBE (Braun works too ;D) went. I had to move in December 2010 from Brisbane, Australia to California so I missed Justin’s concerts in both places! I gave up all hope on seeing everyone from the crew and Justin because he finished his whole tour and now was on vacation. I heard about the Saratoga concert and I was like “I HAVE to go to that concert no matter what” but I couldn’t because the tickets were so expensive.. but as Justin says NEVER SAY NEVER. He even followed me on 9 th June, so 2 days before the concert which just made me even more excited because I waited 1 year and 33 days for him to follow me. It was the day 11 th June, I decided to meet up with some girls on Twitter who had no tickets like me and two of them had camped out as well. There was 7 of us girls from the morning standing on the road with “HONK FOR BIEBER”, “FREE SCOOTER” and several other posters. Then more and more girls came by and we were about a group of 15. We must’ve gotten about 1000 or more honks. But nothing happened for hours. Then we saw the police cars going up and down, patrolling. We approached one of them and asked about the Bieber crew and he said that they will be coming in a couple of hours and you guys are in the right spot. We were so pumped. As soon as we saw 2 black mini tour buses in a row, we knew it was the Bieber Crew : Anthony was in front in the 1 st bus and other dancers in the back but all we saw was Michael showing off his Estovar hoodie because the windows were really tinted, TC was in the front in the 2 nd bus but we couldn’t see clearly to make out who were in the back but we assumed it was the rest of the crew like Legaci (because I asked Chris and he replied today we sure saw you guys). We were so excited so we ran and I tripped when the buses turned the corner, so embarrassing. Then we were back to our spot still standing up with our posters and there was a blue car right in front of us and I was the closest one to it and guess who I see leaning on the winow? RYAN GOOD!! No one noticed him except me and then I pointed and was like “THAT’S RYAN GOOD” and everyone screamed and Ryan smiled at me. We were too excited to see him so we didn’t notice who was driving or who was in the back but some girls thought that Allison was driving and I have to say it was for sure a lady driving. We were all tired and exhausted but Justin hadn’t driven past yet so we still kept going with more honks. Then after an hour or so there appeared a black car with really tinted windows so we were sure that was Justin and yes we were right! We saw another bodyguard in the front seat and I then I saw KENNY in the middle. I didn’t see Justin but majority of the girls saw him or the back of his head. They said he was in the very back and that he waved and they could see his sunnies and his hair was short. I was kinda mad that I didn’t see him. None of them stopped for us, but we still kept saying NEVER SAY NEVER and that someone is going to come down. We checked everyone’s Twitter and they said soundcheck was starting but we didn’t lose hope and stood there. Soon after a police officer came by and told us that neighbours have complained about the sound and amount of distraction caused by us to the drivers because of all the honking and said he can just tell us to go home or call our parents now as it is not legal to honk in California without a specific reason but he told us very nicely to stop with all the honking and screaming and asked us to move further on the sidewalk because he thought we were very dedicated. We saw Scooter’s tweet, “in route to the show. @jonmchu see u soon brother ” and that pumped us all up and we decided that we have to get Scooter’s attention. We all stood in a line on the sidewalk with all our posters on the road and only three posters up and one of them said “FREE SCOOTER” and yes our plan was successful! He saw the poster and stopped the car, rolled down the window and told us to calm down so we did. Our group was really cooperative because we all followed what he said and gave everyone a chance to talk. He said nice poster and pointed at Katie, the girl holding the poster and then we started talking to him and he said “I have no idea what’s going on. I just got here” and suddenly I realised no one said hi to Carin so I was like “Is that Carin? Hi Carin” in the middle of Scooter talking and she waved at me. Then we told him how Sami and Anastasia had camped out last night and had been there since Friday morning. He replied with “I don’t even have tickets, it was all done by College Track and they didn’t even give me tickets” So I was like “Yeah College Track gave away the unsold tickets to their kids for free”, Scooter was like “REALLY?!?!” I was like “Yeah” and then he said “Look guys if I find any tickets up there I’ll come back” and then he left. We were all so shocked that we just talked to Scooter Braun and then I’m not sure why, but I started crying, it was all happy tears. Then we were all calming down and we were all sure that Scooter was gonna come back. We sat down and decided that if he comes back with tickets, then the 1 st choice is Sami and Anastasia because they worked hard for them. After an hour and a half, two police cars came by and said, “You guys are about to get very lucky”. Scooter came back and he was like, “Who made that “FREE SCOOTER” sign?” Sami and Ana went up and told him, while on the phone with her mom. Scooter took her phone and started talking to Beka’s mum and told her that Beka is a wonderful young lady and thanks for all the support. After the phone call he gave Sami and Ana two tickets to Justin Bieber concert and he said, “These are my tickets but I wanted to give it to you guys”. He asked us if we were happy that he gave them the tickets and we all screamed YES! He was gonna say bye but I interrupted asking if we can we get a picture with him and he was like, “You know what, I’m gonna come out and take pictures with everyone”. I went up next and after the picture he hugged and he softly caressed my arm. Being the kind person he is, he took pictures with everyone there and by then some other girls had also joined us because they heard about how Scooter was there. After that he told us how everyone on Twitter talks about how Justin is changing and said, “ I am with the kid everyday and he is not changing at all, he’s as dedicated as ever and I am not just saying it ”. Scooter wanted us to let everyone on Twitter know that. He even asked Justin’s driver what he thinks about Justin, honest opinion and the driver said, “ He is a very kind kid ”. So everyone who hates on Justin or spreads rumours and thinks that they don’t see it, you are wrong because they do and yet they respect your opinions but opinion is one thing and clearly hating or judging someone you don’t even know personally is something else . STOP saying he is changing or spreading other lame rumours and you know who you are. It’s ridiculous that most of the times people saying stuff or making up lies are “beliebers”, seriously you are here to support him not judge him on his personal life or spread rumours. Then we took a group shot with the “FREE SCOOTER” poster. Then he told us all that we shouldn’t camp out or wait anymore because there are already too many people up there and Justin is going to be under tight security so we should all go home and be safe. We all took the picture and then he took Sami and Anastasia with him in his car to the concert! After that I cried again and we all hugged I met the most awesome beliebers that day and I met the SCOOTER BRAUN and CARIN! The whole Bieber crew saw us including Justin. And I ended my day by a tweet from TC. It was the happiest day of my life so far. Even though I still haven’t seen Justin I will NEVER SAY NEVER! I recently read a New York Times article that explained the interesting concept of “perceptual learning,” which involves training the mind to memorize patterns rather than just learning concepts straight off. This method is being investigated by a small group of scientists who have evidence that proficiency improves when students in schools are groomed to use their “sensitive perpetual radar” to make educated inquiries on problems, rather than purely going through a structured process taught to them by the teacher. With the added component of incorporating individual perception into the scholarly experience, children as young as middle school have been shown the opportunity to grasp difficult concepts in math or science with the benefit of using their intuition rather than convention. The idea of having a “trained eye” through experience of repetition and patterns may be harder to acquire than basic techniques for problem solving, but isn’t practice involved in developing any skill? In this fast-paced world, many times people forget that the simple intuitive parts of our brain hold a lot of credit for the things we can learn to do. If we were to hone these perceptive parts of ourselves at an early age, how could this affect how we learn and process information as a whole? New Job Opportunities Planned For Graduating Class Of 2015 Since “teaching to the test” is extremely common these days, with schools being forced to bring up their reputations based on test scores, the whole definition of “teaching” has changed. With certain amounts of time allotted for teaching specific topics, teaching has become a rushed, overburdened task from its former self. In United States specifically, the overemphasis on standardized tests such as the SATs even as young as middle school age has caused an onslaught of stress, and therefore a decrease in the performance and stamina of students in the classroom. If “perceptual learning” was demonstrated and encouraged early on in learning, how would it affect students and how they view the large amount of information they are faced with? As a physics teacher, Joe Wise states in the article, in reference to underlying skills, “It’s not how well you do, but how well you learn.” Through gaining the building blocks for problem solving by tapping into intuition over structured problem sets, the general skills required for living in the real world might be more readily available from the get-go. Through learning from intuitive experience, trial-and-error tasks, and more prolonged emphasis on patterns and repetition, could we mold a stronger group of young learners? Is Having A Best Friend Healthy For Your Child? Despite the structures that already harness the education system, “perceptual learning” is definitely a strong-point of reference for parents and educators alike to consider when teaching children complex subjects like math and science. Back in my days as a student, math problems and scientific equations always eluded me, as my strong points have always been in English and history. If there had been a way to learn long equations and calculations through a more hands-on learning style, maybe I would not have struggled so much in my school days. The fact that the current children of America live in a time when scientists are working on more comprehensive ways of learning is important for parents and teachers to acknowledge. It is only with education that improvements can be made in the world as a whole, so paying attention to the improvements in the learning curve is vital for future generations! I was just reading the article about the woman who was bipolar and I kind of have the same issue but she’s not really bipolar just moody as hell. I’m 27 years old and the woman I’ve been seeing for about 6 months is 33. I’ve always loved older woman because they’re more willing to commit than the women my age. They kind look for more than a big house and car and poppin bottle at a hot sweaty club in the vip section. The woman I’ve been dating is hard to read because it’s like one day she wants me and the next day she doesn’t. Or sometimes, I call her up and she’s upbeat and later that day she’s short and dismissive. She’s very moody but when I have days when I don’t want to deal with her sh*t and I want to stay at my crib and watch sports she takes it personal. I’m a cool guy through and through until you mess with me and when I’m angry or if I get hot headed then you know something is wrong and she’s slowly taking me to that point. I dig this woman and I think she’s a good person but her moods are too much to handle some days. She would be perfect if she weren’t so damn moody. My thing is how do I deal with her when she’s being ugly?
