Justin Bieber Wax Statues Will Feature Old Hairstyle

Madame Tussauds figures will debut in March. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Gilbert Carrasquillo/ Getty Images This March, Justin Bieber’s wax likeness will be hitting three Madame Tussaud’s wax museums. Outposts in London, New York and Amsterdam will all house statues of the teen pop sensation. And, since Bieber decided to have his trademark locks lopped off last weekend, fans may be wondering what kind of hairstyle the statues will feature. Well, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the likenesses will in fact sport Bieber’s signature swoop. “We have been absolutely inundated with requests from young fans from around the world to see him,” Liz Edwards, head of PR at Madame Tussauds, explained. “We’re sure his fans will be just as delighted as we are that Justin will be joining the A-list.” THR further reported that Bieber will be the headlining act at the museum’s music zone, an interactive area that also features stars like Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake. It’s reported that Bieber sat for his statue late last year. “We’re capturing a moment in time,” Bret Pidgeon, general manager of Madame Tussauds New York, told E! News about the statue. “Capturing what he looks like right now.” Pidgeon also hinted about the hair that would appear on the statue. “We’re going to wait to see how the new haircut takes with the fans … It’ll be part of the excitement for the final launch day,” he added, noting that Bieber will be on hand at one of the unveilings. Reps for the museum never responded to MTV News’ request for further information by press time. “I’m honored to be getting my own wax figures,” Bieber said in a press statement . “To be immortalized in wax alongside some of my idols — Michael Jackson, Prince, Beyonce and my mentor, Usher — is incredibly exciting and very cool.” A long line of other music stars also have had their likenesses cast in wax for display at Madame Tussauds locations. In the past few years, teen idols like the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and even Lady Gaga have all received the honor from the famed institution. Lil Wayne ‘You & I’ Sneak Peek Hits The Net

Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex previews melodic track believed to be from DJ Drama and DJ Woogie mixtape. By Jayson Rodriguez Lil Wayne Photo: C. Flanigan/ Getty Images Lil Wayne made the transition from star to superstar with his extraordinary work ethic, releasing a slew of mixtape material and reaching the tipping point with 2008’s Tha Carter III. Since his release from prison late last year, however, the Cash Money Records artist has been conservative about putting out new official offerings, aside from his own “6 Foot 7 Foot.” But a snippet of a new Weezy track, “You & I,” surfaced online on Thursday (February 24) and it appears to be from a forthcoming DJ Drama and DJ Woogie mixtape. “All we do is fuss and f— / Over this and that and such and such,” Wayne raps on the number. “Man, I think I gotta toughen up/ Love knocks you down/ And it feels like I been sucker-punched/ But I love her like new money/ I ain’t going nowhere like Al Bundy/ I’m like how can I leave her?/ Love is a bitch but everybody need her/ Inhale, exhale, I just need a breather/ Call a timeout and watch the cheerleaders/ And when I’m not feeling the same, I just drive my Bugatti down memory lane/ And come back to you.” In addition to “”6 Foot” and “You & I,” Wayne has loaned his rhymes to a remix of Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” , Birdman’s “Fire Flame” and a Super Bowl edition of Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow.” Wayne is scheduled to debut his “6 Foot 7 Foot” video on MTV soon. Arcade Fire Manager Responds To Steve Stoute’s Grammy Gripe

In an open letter of his own, Scott Rodger said he’s ‘proud of this band and what they’ve achieved.’ By James Montgomery Arcade Fire at the 2011 Grammy Awards Photo: Getty Images Three days after music-industry vet Steve Stoute took out a full-page ad in The New York Times to blast the Grammys for being out of touch and vaguely evil, the manager of one of the bands he singled out responded, calling Stoute’s missive “a nice piece of self publicity.” In an e-mail to industry insider Bob Lefsetz, Scott Rodger, manager of Album of the Year winners the Arcade Fire , ripped Stoute for calling into question not only the validity of the band’s triumph but also their show-closing second performance. While the encore served as a de facto victory lap for the band, to Stoute it appeared to be proof positive that the Grammys were rigged and in need of a serious overhaul. “Arcade Fire had the final slot on the Grammys as the ratings are low at the end of the broadcast. It really is that simple,” Rodger wrote. “[There was] no big plot. We had no guarantee of air time, but it was simply to play out the end-credits of the show. … For the Grammys international broadcast, our main performance — along with that of Mumford & Sons and the Avett Brothers was completely cut from the show. Our end-title performance was bastardized because they cut our ads/sponsor messages completely. It was a bit of a farce.” Rodger also defended his band’s AOTY win — which Stoute took issue with in his Times open letter, and then again in a follow-up interview with The Hollywood Reporter, — because, well, they “deserved” it. “They made the best album. If the award was named ‘Album Sales of the Year,’ there would be no discussion,” Rodger wrote. “Eminem made a big-selling album, but it was far from being his best work. Katy Perry made a big pop record that simply didn’t have weight or credibility. Gaga’s … was a repackage of the main release. “Arcade Fire are now one of the biggest live acts in the world. It’s not all about record sales. It’s about making great records, and it’s about building a loyal fanbase,” he continued. “The band make great albums, they’re not a radio-driven singles band. … Things couldn’t be better.” Rodger closed his e-mail by taking a final shot at Stoute, saying that his protests were myopic — since Arcade Fire’s triumph was actually celebrated by big-selling artists — and that “he needs to tune in.” “Did he see Kanye’s tweets when we won and the praise he gave us?” he wrote. “I’m proud of this band and what they have achieved.” Related Videos Backstage Interviews From The Grammys Related Photos The 2011 Grammy Awards Show Related Artists Arcade Fire

Emma Roberts, Dave Franco Get Cozy In Cults’ ‘Go Outside’ Supervideo

‘We have to make out in the video — a lot,’ Roberts tells MTV News on the set. By Matt Elias Dave Franco and Emma Roberts in the Cults’ “Go Outside” supervideo Photo: MTV On Tuesday, a supervideo for Cults’ “Go Outside” starring Dave Franco and Emma Roberts debuted on MTV.com. In the video, Franco plays a character obsessed with 1960s Jean-Luc Goddard films. His obsession comes to life when French sex symbol Brigitte Bardot (played by Roberts) steps out of his favorite Goddard flick, “Contempt,” and into his living room. The two embark on a nightlong romantic escapade throughout Los Angeles, and providing the soundtrack is the dreamy “Go Outside” by New York duo Cults. The supervideo is actually the second effort in a partnership between MTV and Mean magazine. The first video brought Anna Kendrick and director David Ayer together for LCD Soundsystem’s “Pow Pow.” MTV News caught up with Franco and Roberts on the set, where they talked about what it meant to film the video. “I love Brigitte Bardot,” Roberts said. “I’ve always been drawn to her style, and I just think there’s something so timeless about her that she’s still such an icon today. And I just thought it’d be fun to get to kind of do a little mini-film to music, and I love the concept and I was excited Davie was a part of it and it’s just been really fun.” Of course channeling the iconic bombshell meant going blond for Roberts, which she loved: “I feel like a Barbie doll. I think it’s cool.” And a major part of the Bardot persona meant another thing. “We have to make out in the video — a lot,” Roberts added. While the treatment meant that the two would be getting very intimate, luckily for Franco, he wasn’t going in blind. “We knew each other a little bit before the video,” Franco said. “Which is great for this kind of project, where you can kind of jump into it and just have fun with it, rather than trying to get comfortable with each other and literally within 10 minutes of meeting each other, your tongues are in each other’s mouths.” From the looks of the video, they got to know each other a lot better by the end. Justin Bieber’s Haircut: Fans Weigh In!

While many Beliebers are gushing over his ‘sexy,’ ‘older’ cut, others tell MTV News they miss his signature ‘swoop.’ By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber gets his hair cut Photo: Paramount This week Justin Bieber made headlines thanks to a new haircut. The Biebs had his famous swooping bangs cut into a shorter, cropped look, and he told talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres he doesn’t “really care” what people have to say about his ‘do. But his fans have been weighing in on the new hairstyle anyway, and many of them approve of the haircut. “I really like it and it actually makes him look older!!!! And for all u down there hating on Bieber well if it was Angelina Jolie I’m sure you’d have something to say so don’t hate ’cause he’s sexy and he ain’t even legal yet,” Amanda wrote on MTV.com. Lilia added, “AAh, he looks better with the new hair! Suits him!” Beliebers have been debating the star’s latest look since he debuted it earlier this week. Coote noted on our site that Bieber is much more than a head of hair. “I think he [looks] sexy … i don’t love him for his hair… i love him because he is sweet, cute and perfect,” Coote wrote. MTV News also took to the streets of New York City to see whether people preferred the “Never Say Never” star’s old look or the new one. “I like it, I think it looks good on him,” Catherine said of Bieber’s longtime haircut. She added about the brand-new cut: “I like it better than the other one, but I think that a lot of his fans liked the [old] one. … Everyone loves him for his hair and now he doesn’t have it anymore.” Meanwhile, Tiffany loved the original but was blown away by the new version. “I think it’s very Bieberish, I like that long swoop. It definitely works for him,” Tiffany said before we showed her the updated look. “Oh my god! It’s such a transformation! I just love it! He looks so much older!” “It’s just beautiful,” Christina explained of the old ‘do. “I liked him with his longer hair better. That’s just who he was discovered as.” “He looks a little geeky,” Sofia said of his famous original hairdo. “It’s much better,” she said of the cropped cut. “He doesn’t look like my brother anymore. He looks five years older. He’s so cute.” Which do you prefer: Bieber’s long locks or his cropped cut? Tell us in the comments! Nicki Minaj: My Appeal Lies In Showing It’s ‘OK To Be Weird’

The Young Money MC talks to BlackBook about fame, Lady Gaga and ongoing response to MTV doc ‘My Time Now.’ By James Dinh Nicki Minaj Photo: MTV Nicki Minaj is a platinum-selling rapper but she’s still adapting so many aspects of fame. The Young Money MC says she’s learning that she has to censor herself and that not all of her followers are fans. “I have to watch my mouth sometimes,” she tells BlackBook magazine in a new interview. “All of those people who follow me on Twitter ? They aren’t my friends. Some of them are fans, but many of them are people who hate my guts and are just waiting for me to tweet something that they can put on their blogs. It’s easy to see 2 million followers and think, ‘Look at all these people who love me!’ But not all of them love me. Whether I’m smiling or not, I know that people are always waiting for me to slip up.” Last November, MTV premiered Minaj’s documentary , “My Time Now,” and the 26-year-old raptress tells the magazine she was afraid she’d been “too real” and revealed “too much of the actual person behind Nicki Minaj” during filming. “Someone once told me, ‘People love the fa
