The cities rampant HIV issue has some scientists comparing Atlanta to third world African countries and says some residents should be taking daily meds to help prevent the spread of the deadly disease. _____ “Downtown Atlanta is as bad as Zimbabwe,” said Dr. Carlos del Rio, co-director of Emory University’s Center for AIDS Research. Del Rio also stated the disease has shifted from one that affected many gay men and drug users, to a something that affects everyone, but African-Americans with limited health care in particular. This year was no different as PAYUSA has distributed frozen turkeys at multiple locations. The climax of the Thanksgiving Themed give away was Sunday 11/18 when the City of Atlanta’s Office of Constituent Services lent their support to serve the people alongside Positive American Youth. The Mayor of Atlanta, Mrs. Keisha Lance-Bottoms came out to meet the people and hand out a few turkeys herself! Additional support came from John Foy & Associates and Amerigroup. He seems to feed off the misery of our nation , so any setback for no. 45 is ten steps forward for mankind. Most recently, Trump was accused of attempting to impede on CNN Journalist Jim Acosta ‘s first amendment rights. After going back and forth with Acosta, and quite frankly throwing a tantrum because Acosta was asking real questions, Trump had his White House press credentials revoked. “I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN, and if you did it well your ratings would be much better,” Trump told Acosta at the time . He followed up with, “CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN,” Trump said. “You’re a very rude person. The way you treat Sarah Huckabee is horrible and the way you treat other people are horrible.” Oh, the comedy. But, guess what? A judge has officially ordered the White House to restore Jim Acosta’s press credentials, based on the journalist’s fifth amendment rights. Huffington Post states: “CNN’s victory was in response to a temporary restraining order asking for the immediate restoration of Acosta’s press pass. Its broader lawsuit concerns whether the White House’s decision to revoke his press pass was unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Kelly, who was appointed by President Donald Trump last year, said CNN’s attorneys were likely to prevail in their argument that the White House had violated Acosta’s and the network’s First and Fifth Amendment rights. Kelly said he did not decide whether the White House violated the First Amendment, relying primarily on the Fifth Amendment in saying that Acosta’s and CNN’s right to due process was likely violated because the White House process for revoking his press pass was ‘shrouded in mystery.’” According to the site, Judge Kelly also cited “irreparable harm” to Acosta. Acosta will reportedly get his press pass back temporarily, “while the full lawsuit proceeds.” CNN said in a statement, “ We are gratified with this result and we look forward to a full resolution in the coming days. Our sincere thanks to all who have supported not just CNN, but a free, strong and independent American press.” While the White House still seems to be framing this as some sort of win , since the ruling was not based on first amendment rights, we bet Trump’s pissed he may have to spar with Acosta again…hit the flip to see how we imagined his face looking when he heard the news. T allahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum shot down President Donald Trump ’s election fraud claim and his call to name GOP candidate Ron DeSantis the winner of Florida’s gubernatorial race. SEE ALSO: Black America ‘Did The Thing’ With High Voter Turnout On Election Day Gillum rallied supporters Monday night at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church in Boynton Beach, Florida, saying that Trump and current Republican Gov. Rick Scott are trying to rush the recount process, WPEC-TV reported. “If we don’t swear in a new governor until January, what is the rush for you? Count every vote,” Gillum said. “They’re claiming voter fraud because supervisors of elections are counting votes.” That statement was in response to Trump’s tweet on Monday morning. The president stated, “The Florida Election should be called in favor of Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis in that large numbers of new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged. An honest vote count is no longer possible-ballots massively infected. Must go with Election Night!” Rick Scott is using every stunt within his power to suppress the vote. Unofficial results showed that DeSantis led Gillum by 0.41 percent, ABC News reported. Under Florida law, election officials ordered a machine recount on Saturday because the vote margin was less than 0.5 percent. All 67 counties face a state-ordered deadline of Thursday to finish their recounts. Meanwhile, Gillum isn’t alone in calling out Trump. Circuit Chief Judge Jack Tuter declared on Monday that there’s no evidence of voter fraud in the recount. However, Gillum told his audience that there were voter suppression issues during the election, as well as some irregularities . In one instance, a heavily Republican district allowed 150 voters to scan and email their ballots, which violated state law. “Regardless of what the outcome of what this race is, we want every single vote in all 67 counties — Republican, Democrat or otherwise — that every single vote be counted,” he said. U PDATED: 6:34 a.m. EDT, Nov. 7 — After a suspenseful Election Night, Stacey Abrams said she wouldn’t concede the race to be Georgia’s next governor to Brian Kemp, who was accused of orchestrating widespread voter suppression against Black people before and during Election Day. Abrams hinted at a possible runoff election next month because of Kemp’s razor-thin lead that continued to dwindle Wednesday morning, according to the Atlanta Journal-Consitution . Voting machines, which fall under the responsibility of the secretary of state, were delivered to majority Black precincts without any cords to provide them with electrical power for voters to cast their ballots. He’s also been on the receiving end of multiple federal lawsuits over his attempts to suppress Black votes. They range for rejecting certain absentee ballots , blocking approximately 53,000 voter registration forms and purging some 700,000 voters from the state’s voting rolls—all targeting African-American voters. Kemp and Abrams were locked in a neck-and-neck race. Well, November 6th 2018 that all changed when Christine went to the polls and was not only turned away, but her entire voter record couldn’t be found anywhere. Her granddaughter Jessica Lawrence said her grandmother was devastated that she wasn’t allowed to vote. This story comes on the heels of a lawsuit aimed at Brian Kemp stating he used his power as Secretary of State to purge 340,134 voters from the rolls. Issa celebration and everyone is feeling the love (at first). A1 and Ray J make peace after all the drama between them (caused by Ray J). A1 also mentions that Safaree hit him up on IG and they’re due for a chat soon. Let’s fast forward to that chat. Safaree tells A1 straight up that he never had sex with Lyrica and we’re thinking about how this really didn’t have to be dragged out so long. But you know, reality TV. Anyway, A1 realizes that the conversations that Safaree has had with Ray got misconstrued. The thing is, Safaree never really answered the questions directly and Ray J just went ham based on assumption and Safaree’s shifty behavior alone. Straight. Outta. Context. Typical. Anyway, A1 asks about whether Safaree sent her a nude photo or not and Safaree says he didn’t send her anything. Then says he doesn’t know if he accidentally sent her something or that he doesn’t remember or whatever. Mind you, he’s fidgeting and acting super shifty. Safaree does apologize for this thing he may or may not have done (but we think he at least sent some sext messages), but A1 isn’t buying it and says he still can’t mess with him right now. Later on, A1 tells Lyrica about their conversation. In the end, he asks her for a DNA test. We know by now, thanks to social media and #TheBlogs, that the baby is A1’s. Ray J, RoccStar and Safaree link up and Ray J is still being messy because as soon as Safaree shows up, Ray J makes a shady comment about how RoccStar and A1 have the same thing in common — smashing Lyrica. Safaree explains what was said during his sit down with A1. Ray J says Safaree told him that he “did it” (still vague smh). Safaree explains he was talking about the sexting situation and Ray J misconstrued what he said then took it and ran with it like it was the gospel truth. Basically, this is really stupid and could have been nipped in the bud sooner. Ray J tells Safaree that he had him looking stupid. And we’re all just looking at him like: That’s why you should mind your business and in other, not-related but kind of related news, stop talking about Kim Kardashian too. The hell? Just talk too dang much! Meanwhile, Apple officially discovers that her dad actually isn’t her dad. But guess what, her dad said he knew this 33 years ago and is just not telling Apple. Her mom got a DNA test and when she turned out to not be his baby he decided not to deal with her. So, all this hurt and pain was for naught and Shun Love was right, her fake dad is an opportunist. Apple is hurt, but happy to move on and Shun is there to comfort and support her. Hopefully, she’ll be back next season. We like her. A1 and Lyrica have their vow renewal ceremony and exchange dramatic tearful vows about how they love to each other, yatta yatta. But then Moniece pulls up toward the end of this joyous event and asks Princess what she wants to do. Princess is quite clear when she replies that she wants to fight. Moniece replies that she never throws the first punch. Princess starts throwing drinks and glasses at her. Moniece throws a cake, etc and they never get to fight because we all know that Love and Hip-Hop security is thorough. This is probably what Moniece was banking on. She knew she didn’t really want to fight. Then Boobie pulls up and he and Marcus go at it over Brooke. Boobie says wasn’t there to fight, but to talk about moving forward with someone he cares about. It’s super random, b ut Marcus had time to throw hands. His attempts were unsuccessful, though, because, security. Give those gentlemen raises, please! Finally, the episode ends with the usual wrap up montage about it being a new day and we go through each person’s progress or whatever but we all know we’ll be right back here next week watching them devolve again during the reunion.
