T.I. will be VH1′s newest reality star. VH1′s camera crew will follow T.I. for a new reality show capturing his re-adjustment back to his normal life. A press release on the reality show was released today. VH1 is teaming up with multi-platinum recording artist and America’s top selling rapper T.I. as he re-adjusts to life as a free man after being incarcerated for nearly a year in a Federal prison in Arkansas. In the new untitled T.I. series premiering December 5 at 10PM*, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes look at the most private and personal moments of one of today’s hottest, most sought after Grammy winning artists as he is reunited with his wife and kids and thrust back into society at this crucial juncture in his life. The half hour 10-episode series follows the “King of the South” at his most vulnerable state, as he is released from an 11 month Federal prison term, his second stint in three years. Along the way we will see T.I. re-acclimate back into his life as a father, husband, son and friend, as well as a musician, a clothier, a businessman, and an actor (he last starred in and produced Sony’s film TAKERS which opened number one at the box office the weekend prior to his arrest). After weeks of speculation that she was getting fired, Stacey Dash has confirmed that she’s leaving “Single Ladies,” VH1′s show based and shot in Atlanta. She released a statement exclusively to GlobalGrind : “I truly enjoyed playing Val on ‘Single Ladies’, but I have decided to leave the show. I have to be back in L.A. with my children right now and the ‘Single Ladies’ shooting location makes that impossible. I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show and in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in season one.” VH1 responded with the following: “VH1 respects Stacey’s decision and her commitment to what she feels is best for her family. ATL’s own T.I. is getting out of jail very soon, but the question everyone wants to know is, when? Hot 107.9′s DJ Drama told our affiliate station, Houston’s 97.9 The Box , that Tip was getting an early release date and would be home August 31, but according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ web site , T.I.’s release date is still listed as September 29th. He is incarcerated at a federal prison in Forrest City, Arkansas. A spokesperson with the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed that T.I.’s release date is listed as September 29th, but he said it’s possible that T.I. (born Clifford Harris Jr.) may be released to a halfway house this week, although he would not release that information. Whenever he gets back home to Atlanta, we want to say welcome home Tip!
