Kim Zolciak Calls Kandi Burruss Song Lawsuit A Publicity Stunt Via NY Daily News reports: The wife of Atlanta Falcons’ Kroy Biermann has responded with vengeance to the recent lawsuit Kandi Burruss and co-songwriter Rodney Richard have filed against her for copyright infringement for the song “Tardy for the Party.” Zolciak’s rep spoke to the Daily News on behalf of the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, claiming the lawsuit is “a publicity stunt” for Burruss’ new Bravo show, “The Kandi Factory.” But that’s not all. The reality star is also questioning the credibility of Burruss’ experience in the music industry. “Kandi discusses her expertise in the music business and how she has the most experience in dealing with the writing of songs, which includes contracts and protecting herself,” Zolciak’s rep says, “but based on what we’ve seen with this particular song, everything she’s done is very sloppy and messy.” The lawsuit comes three and a half years after the release of the song and Burruss’ willingness to brush off the botched handling of profit sharing as a lack of music industry knowledge on Zolciak’s part. “There’s no merit to this case,” the rep adds. “The perception that Kandi and her co-writer are giving is that they have been paid nothing for the song and that Kim is inexperienced and holding out. All of those things are just the opposite.” In a statement released Tuesday, Zolciak’s spokesman claims Burruss and Richard have been paid in excess of $23,000 for the song.
