Malcolm Young Dies; AC/DC Guitarist Was 64

Malcolm Young, one of the original members of AC/DC, has passed away. He was 64 years old. At this point, it’s not clear what caused Malcolm’s death, though we do know that he’d been suffering from dementia since at least 2014. It was then that his family — his brother Angus co-founded the band with him, and another Young brother, George, acted as a producer — announced he’d be leaving the band due to his health issues. In a statement released this morning, AC/DC wrote that “Today it is with deep heartfelt sadness that AC/DC has to announce the passing of Malcolm Young.” “Malcolm, along with Angus [Young, Malcolm’s brother], was the founder and creator of AC/DC. With enormous dedication and commitment he was the driving force behind the band.” “As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man,” the statement continued. “He always stuck to his guns and did and said exactly what he wanted.” “He took great pride in all that he endeavored. His loyalty to the fans was unsurpassed.” In addition to the statement from AC/DC as a whole, Angus released one of his own. “As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life,” he wrote, “the bond we had was unique and very special.” “He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever,” he added. “Malcolm, job well done.” Yet another statement was released by the rest of Malcolm’s family — they referred to him as “a songwriter, guitarist, performer, producer and visionary who inspired many.” “From the outset he knew what he wanted to achieve and, along with his younger brother, took to the world stage giving their all at every show.” “Nothing less would do for their fans.” Malcolm’s death must have hit the Young family especially hard — his older brother, George, passed away just last month. His death will no doubt be tough for AC/DC fans, because after all, he was a huge, huge part of the band. He and Angus formed AC/DC in 1973, and Malcolm played rhythm guitar all the way up until 2010 when they wrapped up their tour for their Black Ice album. Black Ice, released in 2008, was also the last album on which Malcolm was credited as a songwriter. Stevie Young, his nephew, replaced him in 2014 in time to record AC/DC’s most recent album, Rock or Bust. Our condolences to Malcolm’s friends and family — and, of course, all of his fans. Audrey Roloff: Sorry, God, I’ll Instagram Less Often!

Audrey Roloff has an important and surprising announcement to make. Actually, before she does so, Audrey Roloff has a precious and adorable photo to share: Perfect, right? How does the Little People, Big World star do anything that doesn’t involve cuddling her daughter, Ember Jean?!? Sadly, however, fans of the reality star may not be seeing many more pictures such as this going forward. Audrey announced as a caption to the cute snapshot that she may be posting less frequently on Instagram going forward. And she share an interesting reason why. “All cozied up with my sweet little Ember. She warms my heart, get it. Snuggling her is my favorite,” opened Roloff. She then delved into more profound and religious detail: “Ok so… I’ve been convicted on something lately… As much as l love sharing my life with y’all and what I’ve learned/am learning, l never want to be someone who spends more time sharing on social media than l do seeking the Lord and searching His truths.” Audrey, of course, has always been very open about her faith . “I know this might sound a little contradictory, cause here l am sharing this, but maybe some of you can relate?” she continued, adding: “In a world that invites us to share share share, l want to seek seek seek. Instead of always reaching for my phone to document a moment or share on social media, l want to be more concerned with seeking God in those moments and listening for what He might have to share with me! This is a common critique of social media, of course. Not the connection to God necessarily, but the fact that some people spend more time documenting their lives than living their lives. “Don’t get me wrong, l love sharing and engaging with you all in this space,” Audrey concluded. “But it should always come second to time with my Creator and redeemer. “I want to be someone who spends more time reading truth, engaging wisdom, and listing for His still small voice, than sharing my own incomplete oversimplified perspectives.” Roloff has also faced a lot of unfair criticism as a result of her frequent Instagram posting. She was somehow dragged online for this simple photo of her daughter, for example. This may explain why Jeremy recently expressed support for his beloved soulmate. “Im so proud of my wife. These last few weeks have been pretty tough on her,” Jeremy wrote yesterday. “(If you watch our stories you know what I’m talking about) But she’s been a trooper and I’m thankful that I have her as a teammate.” Hey, whatever makes you feel happy and content, Audrey. We adore seeing these Ember Jean photos , but we support whatever decision you make in this regard. View Slideshow: Audrey Roloff: This is Why We Named Our Daughter Ember

Audrey Roloff: Did She Really Endanger Her Daughter?!?

Audrey Roloff is doing her best as a first-time parent. We really hope everyone can agree on that. But the Little People, Big World star has come under fire a few times for what trolling Internet users have deemed to be #MotherhoodFails. What are some examples of these supposed fails? Scroll down for a look at the latest, and then click through the gallery below for a look back at what else online critics have accused poor Audrey of doing wrong… 1. Mother and Daughter Audrey Roloff gave birth to Ember Jean on September 10. She struggled at first with painful breastfeeding and admitted to bouts of postpartum depression. 2. But Things Have Been Getting Better That much is clear, based on how often Audrey and Jeremy have been sharing cute family pictures over the past couple weeks. 3. Wiped Out However, Audrey then shared this photo on Facebook and wrote as a caption: “Just got my monthly Young Living order and had to stock up on these because they are the best wipes on the planet. Seriously they smell so heavenly and work insanely well. Like 1 wipe per poop well.” 4. She’s Faced Backlash For It First, for using Ember as a means to promote a product. Some critics have accused Audrey of exploiting her daughter. 5. Second, Because Wipes are Heavy As you can see here, some comments have questioned why Audrey would place such heavy items all over her sleeping baby. 6. The Silly Debate Raged On Sides have been taken on Audrey’s Facebook page. View Slideshow

Jeremy Roloff: This is What Fatherhood Has Taught Me

Jeremy Roloff is a changed man. He’s only been a father for a handful of weeks, but the Little People, Big World star says he can tell something is different. And that something is centered around his faith. Earlier this week, the new father of a precious baby named Ember Jean shared the above photo on Instagram and included with it the caption below: Yesterday I had a dying to self moment. The realization that my life is not about me. This baby is a part of the continual dying-to-self process that is nescessary to pursue holiness over happiness. That’s profound stuff. Typically, Jeremy leaves this kind of religious talk to his wife, as Audrey Roloff has been known to often gush over Jesus Christ and His teachings. But having Ember has clearly brought something out in Jeremy. If you pursue happiness over holiness, you may lose both , he continued, adding: But if we pursue holiness, happiness may get thrown in. There is a selfishness deep down that I’m ashamed to say, almost resented the freedom and time that I am about to lose. However, as it’s been said, nothing can truly be yours until you’ve fully given it away. After an admittedly challenging opening few weeks as parents, Audrey and Jeremy have been sharing more and more pictures of their daughter, while also taking her on mini road trips. Or stroller trips , we guess we should say. In concluding his latest post regarding Ember and what he’s come to believe/realize, Jeremy wrote: Jesus said it best, “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.” I want to live for the truth of holiness, not the facade of happiness. I want to find my life and find it in the fullness and freedom of Christ. Amen, right? Whether or not you believe with absolutely everything Jeremy writes here or believes in general, his sentiment is that being a father has made him more selfless. Isn’t that how it ought to be for everyone? View Slideshow: Little People, Big World Secrets Exposed: What the Roloffs Won’t Tell You

Ember Roloff: What’s Her Favorite Song?

Audrey Roloff has given Little People, Big World some fun insight into her daughter. First, the beloved TLC star shared a new photo of her baby girl. And, what can we say, it’s downright adorable… Second, Roloff has written something interesting about Ember Jean, who is just over six weeks old. Following a general status update on Ember upon the occasion of her one-month birthday, Audrey is now here to tell us what song her child likes to hear most often. Along with what change Audrey has made to the lyrics. “I sure do spend a lot of time in bed, but never actually sleeping of course,” Audrey wrote as a caption to the photo above. And it’s true: She and Jeremy Roloff have mentioned on multiple occasions that Ember isn’t exactly a great sleeper. Not yet, at least. But Audrey wasn’t trying to criticize her child with this post. Quite the opposite, really. “How could you not want to just cuddle in bed all day with a face like that?!” she continued, adding: “Ember likes it when I sing to her – and she’s probably the only person on the planet that does – but for some reason I can never think of any other songs to sing except amazing grace!” That is a classic. And it’s appropriate for someone as dedicated to her faith as Audrey Roloff. Added the mother of one: “They other day I was singing it to her on repeat and I suddenly had an urge to replace the “me’s” with “you’s.” “This verse became particularly encouraging as I sang it over her instead of myself, “The Lord has promised good to YOU His word YOUR hope secures; He will YOUR sheild and portion be… “As long as life endures, Yet when YOUR flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, YOU shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.” It’s been so nice to see Audrey open up a lot more of late when it comes to Ember. For a little while there, the reality star admitted that the adjustment to parenthood was a struggle, but she’s been sharing more and more photos recently of her bundle of joy. And Ember has even gotten out of the house to enjoy some special trips . We’re grateful to Audrey and Jeremy for opening up their lives in this kind of manner to their fans and we continue to wish their family health and happiness. Jeremy and Audrey Roloff: Agonizing Over How to Raise Ember!

On September 10th, not even a month ago, baby Ember Jean was born to Audrey and Jeremy Roloff. Jer and Auj are losing sleep and overwhelmed, but they’re making it work. And they’re looking ahead to the future. Like all good, first-time parents, it sounds like these two are agonizing over how to raise their kid. Being a parent is the toughest job in the world. Recently, Jeremy Roloff shared the first close-up photo of Ember Jean’s face . Along with it, he shared a little about his experience so far with being a parent. “Ember Jean is two and a half weeks old already!” Now she’s closer to a month — she’ll soon be growing up before our very eyes. “She’s doing great, loving life and practicing her singing whenever she’s hungry or needs to poo… Auj has had a tough few weeks, (more on that over on her profile) but that’s not to negate the fact that she’s having fun and enjoying being a first time mother!” Audrey Roloff’s postpartum symptoms are absolutely zero fun, but she has a support network and she’s going to be okay. And so will their cat. “Pine, Pine is wondering why we brought this “thing” home.” Cats can actually develop beautiful bonds with their humans, but right now the cat has to be like “this is the most useless, noisiest hairless cat in this entire colony of hairless cats.” Because, to cats, we’re all just huge, dumb cats. “And me, I’m a Dad – loving the perspective shifts and late night cuddles while I read my book.” With the exhaustion and stress comes a sense of satisfaction. Having kids is a milestone for a lot of people. The new parents spoke to Us Weekly about their anxieties about raising Ember Jean . “Just balancing life while being a mom, like work and marriage and other family members and friendships and all of that, just trying to find a rhythm.” We all know what work-life balance is like. Being a parent means always putting your child first, but if you forget to take time for yourself, you’ll completely lose your mind. What’s eating at Jer? Questions of how to raise Ember. ““For me, specifically, just parenting in the sense of discipline when they start getting older and that just makes me nervous because you can do it really, really right and you can also do it really, really wrong.” Our first comment is, of course, don’t panic. While it’s true that a lot of child-abusers use “discipline” as a euphemism for their abuse, there are non-abusive parents who use the term. It looks like Jer is very conscious of how awful some parenting can be, what with is “you can also do it really, really wrong,” line. Obviously, abuse is in the “really, really wrong” category. But it’s possible to develop an adversarial relationship with your children even without, you know, causing them pain. If a parent is obsessed with consequences, or always winning (and never picking their battles), you’re probably going to see a child who grows up full of resentment, literally counting down the months and weeks and days until they escape off to college. You might get a rebellious rule-breaker even before that, too — depending upon the child. And if you do, that’s 100% on you. The key is to, well, find a balance — don’t be an authoritarian parent, but also don’t be automatically permissive of everything. The general advice is to be authoritative — that is, you know that you’re in charge and they do to — without feeling the need to assert your authority at all times. The couple mentions that Audrey was brought up in a very strict environment, while Jeremy had a lot more freedom. We’d say that the Roloff kids turned out pretty well, so taking advice from Matt and Amy sounds like a good idea. Jeremy says that everyone has one idea or another. “Ultimately, like, everyone is gonna tell you all these different things to do and try.” Yeah, some people’s ideas will horrify you, but others might be helpful. “There are so many different ways to parent and raise a baby and all that, but ultimately just kind of trusting your gut I guess and doing what you think is best.” Depends on your gut, to be honest. “I feel like we feel confident in it.” He’s confident, but he’s honest. “I think we’re ready for this journey, but are we prepared? No. I don’t think you can be prepared. Similarly to marriage, you just do it and it happens and then you kind of catch up to it.” He’s right — no one is ever 100% prepared for their first child. Because each child is different, we’d say that no one is 100% prepared for their second or third children, either. But the fact that they’re thinking and worrying about how to do things the right way is a great sign. Not thinking about what’s right, not worrying, is how you become a bad parent. Audrey Roloff: Is She in Labor? When is She Due?

Little People, Big World stars Jeremy and Audrey Roloff are so close to becoming parents …but it looks like they’re still waiting. For now. Audrey, 26, and Jeremy, 27, are expecting their baby girl any day now and have been getting all the essential things in place beforehand. This week, Audrey made “padcicles” for post-labor. Jeremy got the baby monitors up and running. Their new home and nursery are set up. All that’s left to do now is wait … and not for much longer. Jeremy and Audrey went radio silent on social media in the second half of this week, leading many fans to believe Audrey might be in labor. Jeremy’s mom, Amy, hasn’t been on social media either, and Audrey’s due date is August 31 – today. So is #BabyRoloff on her way? Honestly, we’re not sure. It’s pretty safe bet that she’ll arrive within the next few days, but there’s no immediate sign that labor has begun. As for the little one’s name, Aubrey and Jeremy haven’t revealed the name they have chosen, nor have they even offered many hints. She’s kept fans abreast of her pregnancy pretty much every step of the way, even when it meant receiving criticism from her followers. Audrey has openly mused about the challenge of  having a baby with running a business , wondering how other moms achieve a balance. She’s posted numerous updates on getting her home ready and packing her bag for the hospital as the due date drew closer and closer. Still, the beloved reality star has rubbed some fans the wrong way with a number of pictures she posted over the past several weeks. How so? First, some accused her of stealing the spotlight from Molly Roloff with all of her updates from her sister-in-law’s wedding to Joel Silvius. Then there’s the matter of her baby bump shots. As her belly grows, Audrey’s love for showcasing it on Instagram has blossomed as well. Some fans aren’t pleased at all, slamming what they see as “disgraceful” Audrey Roloff photos , though we think that’s a huge stretch. Part of the criticism stems from the fact that Roloff’s  emphasis on religion and how such revealing images may conflict with her values. All nonsense. View Slideshow: Audrey Roloff Baby Bump Pics: Look at It Grow! People look too hard for things to hate, and just because she’s a public figure, feel they can unload on her in remarkably critical terms. It certainly hasn’t slowed her down or led her to censor herself up to this point, and we don’t expect her to change after the baby is born. She’s outspoken. Deal with it. No one’s forcing you to follow her online or gaze upon her (beautiful) baby bump. So let’s all just live, let live and wish Audrey the best! There’s a baby on the way!

Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell: Are They Secretly Married?!

We’ve known since last month that Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell are engaged , and the couple has been refreshingly forthcoming about the details of their upcoming nuptials. Or so we thought … Joseph popped the question at Joy-Anna Duggar’s wedding , and shortly thereafter, his family confirmed a number of details about his own ceremony. We quickly learned the location and date of Joseph and Kendra’s wedding in unusual fashion: The family decided to publicly post Joseph’s wedding registry , a move that many interpreted as a bold and uncouth solicitation of presents from fans. But while they were criticized for what appeared to be a desperate cash-grab, Joe and Kendra were also applauded for not keeping the details of their wedding a secret in the interest of TV ratings. Now, however, many fans believe the couple misled their social media followers by claiming they’d tie the knot in October. The above photo of Jeremy Vuolo may seem harmless, but it’s sparked a lot of suspicion from Duggar obsessives. “Kickin it w/ the wee lads at a wedding! Spurgeon is excited; Henry is confused; both are dressed to impress,” Vuolo captioned the pic. He makes no mention of whose wedding he’s attending, spurring many fans to jump to conclusions. “Did Joe get married?” commented one. “Are Joe and Kendra getting married today?? I thought it was in October! Either way, this is precious. The fun uncle!” remarked another. Jeremy didn’t respond to any of the comments, which only led to further suspicion. It’s quite a leap to make on such little information, but it is odd that Jeremy made no mention of who’s getting hitched. It’s unusual to take photos at a wedding and not tag either half of the couple, so we can see why fans believe Jeremy is hiding something. But this is the Duggar family we’re talking about. Anyone who thinks Jeremy is gonna break from the family and spill the beans publicly has got another thing coming. In all likelihood, we’ll simply have to wait until their show’s next season to find out who tied the knot. Watch Counting On online to keep up on all of the many, mane Duggar weddings. Audrey Roloff Addresses Single Ladies: Never Netflix and Chill!

About a year ago, Audrey Roloff stirred up a bit of controversy by doling out advice to fellow married folks. First, she compared marriage to war , saying husbands and wives enter a “battlefield” on a regular basis. In a semi-rambling blog post, the Little People, Big World star asked the following: “What are you doing to protect your marriage against the dangers of, porn, workaholism, worry, pride, stress, fear, loss, addiction, comparison, social media, emotional cheating, that girl at the gym, in-laws, hormones, or idolizing your kids?” Roloff got a lot of pushback for her comments, which she followed up suggesting that married couples she often recite their vows to each other. In bed. During sex. “I’ll spare you the details, but it was the most intimate thing we have ever done in our marriage,” Roloff wrote at the time . “And probably the most intimate thing I have ever done in my life.” Roloff also received some Internet side-eye for this recommendation. Therefore, perhaps sick of getting flak for what she has to say to other wives and their husband, Audrey has shifted her focus. In her latest Instagram post, the reality star has directed her attention to single ladies around the world. This is her Beyonce moment, people! “To all the single girls out there… wait for the kind of man who wants to sit and talk with you by a campfire more than he wants to sit by you watching Netflix on a couch,” Roloff writes, expanding on this theme as follows: “Wait for a man who comes to your door when he picks you up instead of just texting, ‘I’m here.’ “Wait for a man who is more dedicated to pursuing Jesus than he is to pursuing his career ambitions. “Wait for a man who wants to get to know your friends and family instead of always insisting on hanging out alone. “Wait for a man who you’d want to be the father of your children instead of a man who’s still acting like a child.” Audrey has clearly found a man that fits these qualifications. She has been gushing over Jeremy Roloff for many weeks and months now, especially in light of the couple expecting its first child this September. “I know it may seem harsh, but I say these things to encourage you and give you hope,” Roloff said, seemingly aware that she may be inviting more criticism with these words of advice. She concludes with a message of hope: “That kind of man is out there. Don’t believe the big fat lie that tells you, “Oh I’ll never find someone like that.” Jeremy is not an exception. “Men like this DO exist. Pray for him and wait for him.” Audrey added the hashtag “#beating50percent” to her post, which is a reference to the fact that one-half of all marriages in the U.S. end in divorce. She and Jeremy are beating those odds at the moment. And soon they’ll be changing diapers! View Slideshow: Audrey Roloff Baby Bump Pics: Look at It Grow! The TLC stars started dating in 2011, got married in 2014 and will become parents this fall. As you can see above, Audrey has been keeping social media followers well apprised of her baby bump status on Instagram, while the cable network is expected to air new episodes of Little People, Big World in a few months. It’s very safe to assume that Audrey’s pregnancy and delivery will be a central storyline when the popular series returns.
