Source: Emma McIntyre / Getty A couple months ago, Eddie Murphy revealed he was in negotiations with Netflix for a $70 million stand-up special. The legendary comic had zero shows planned when the news broke, but would later reveal that things wouldn’t remain that way much longer. Murphy discussed hosting Saturday Night Live on Netflix’s Present Company with Krista Smith this coming December when he tried to casually drop that he was going on tour. “And then next year in 2020 I’m going to go on the road and do some stand-up,” he explained. It remains to be seen if the tour will be taped specifically for a Netflix special, but we can expect the special to come sometime after his tour. Eddie Murphy was a frequent cast member on SNL , but it was his epic stand-up specials that gained him a lot of his notoriety, and ultimately legend status. With a stand-up tour appearing to be on the horizon, along with a return to SNL , Murphy looks to be primed and ready for a comeback to revitalize his legendary comedy career. Possibly even more exciting is the long-awaited Coming to America sequel, which will see Murphy and Arsenio Hall both reprising their roles from the 1988 comedy classic. Coming 2 America is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2020.

Ladies Attend Karen Huger’s Fragrance Launch In Season Finale “Real Housewives of Potomac’s” Gizelle Bryant questions whether frenemy Karen Huger has more than her prototype perfume bottle in our exclusive clip. Bryant’s questions add fuel to long-time speculation from other cast members that the Grand Dame’s perfume line is nothing but smoke and mirrors. However, Huger assures Bryant and Robyn Dixon that there’s more than just that bottle – and that they’d have to be patient for the big reveal. There’s also a shot of what appear to be gift bags in the background – maybe Huger is giving some product away as presents? Also in the clip, Katie Rost ditched what Ashley Darby called her “awful toupee” and was spotted with a lovely new ‘do. Check out the clip above. “The Real Housewives of Potomac” airs Sunday nights on Bravo.
Tragic news out of the world of country music. Kylie Rae Harris, a popular artist in this industry, died from injuries she sustained in a car accident on Wednesday, September 4. She was 30 years old. The fatal crash took place in New Mexic, with Taos county dispatch confirming to E! News and other outlets that the incident occurred on State road 522 and that there was two fatalities: A 16-year-old girl and 30-year-old woman. The awful news was subsequently confirmed by Harris’ publicist, who issued the following statement: We are heartbroken to confirm that Kylie Rae Harris passed away in a car accident last night. We have no further details to share, and ask for privacy for her family at this time. Everyone that knew Kylie knew how much she loved her family and, beyond that, how much she loved music. The best tribute to her unmatched enthusiasm for both is to spread as much love as you can today, and listen to music that fully inspires you. The singer, who leaves behind a six-year old daughter, actially Tweeted shortly before she died that she was low on gas at one point during her journey. “Fuel range is 46 miles and I’m 36 from the nearest gas station. Dear baby Jesus please don’t let me get stranded in NM,” she wrote. Her Instagram Story echoed a similar sentiment: “Current Sitch: Iffy.” A boomerang video showed she had “low fuel range,” with the red needle almost past empty. In another series of social media videos, the late artist explained why she was making this trek in the first place. She emotionally remember sitting in the backseat as a child as her dad, who’s now deceased, drove her down the very same road on which she ended up passing away. “Alright, I look a mess,” she said, adding: “It’s ’cause I’ve been crying! It’s okay though. It’s a good cry. “I just got to Taos, New Mexico, and I’m playing this festival here called the Big Barn Dance. I love this festival.” “But for those of you who don’t know,” she continued… “I spent the last 20 years of my life coming to Taos with my dad and my sister. “My grandparents lived here, my uncle still lives here. But basically, literally everybody that was here has passed away, except for my uncle, and including my dad.” Pretty eerie, huh? Harris released her self-titled EP in March. She previously told Billboard that the track “Twenty Years From Now” was inspired by her daughter, Corbie. “It scared me thinking that it was totally possible I could be gone before my daughter reaches that point,” she said this spring. “I want to meet my kid’s kids. Getting to the age your parents were when you were a child brings a whole lot of perspective.” Country star Maren Morris paid tribute to the Harris shortly after learning she had died, writing on her Instagram Story: Damn. I just heard the news and I’m in shock. @kylierh, you have always been so sweet and supportive of me. Your soulful voice and Texas beauty was always jaw-dropping, even when we were teenagers at the Larry Joe Taylor festival. Thinking of your family and your precious baby girl right now. Rest In Peace. Just such awful news all around. We send our condolences to the friends, family members and loved ones of Kylie Rae Harris. May she rest in peace. Source: Denise Truscello / Getty Papa John’s Founder Donates $1 Million To Kentucky HBCU Papa John , we ain’t forget. The founder of the pizza franchise, John Schnatter, had to step down from his CEO position last year after he admitted to using the n-word during a conference call. Today, according to WJLA, Schnatter will be donating $1 million to a historically Black college, Simmons College of Kentucky. In exchange for his donation, the school’s president went to bat for Schnatter in an attempt to perfume the stench of racism. News outlets report John Schnatter announced the donation Wednesday at Simmons College of Kentucky. The college’s president, the Rev. Kevin Cosby, and its board of trustees chairman, Mark Lynn, emphasized that people should focus on Schnatter’s actions and not his words. Actions, not words. Got it… We just hope that this money goes to truly help students who want to get their education, but Papa John, we ain’t forget.
Source: Earl Gibson III / Getty Actor Hosea Chanchez is the latest male figure in Hollywood to open up about the sexual abuse he endured at the hands of another man during childhood. The former “The Game” star took to Instagram to share how he grappled with betrayal and trauma after his friend’s father molested him at 14. “I’m Hosea chanchez and when I was 14 years old I was molested BY my friends father. This man is a predator, preying on children who’s trust he’s falsely built through lies, manipulation, threats and secrets,” he wrote on a caption, with a photo of himself as a young boy accompanying the message. Continuing, “I hope this truth helps to stop child molesting predators from sexually assaulting more children. Pedophiles have no place in our society they hide in the open and rape children who are afraid to speak up because of shame, guilt, fear, denial and the thought that no one will believe them. Im doing this to help parents and young children become aware of some of the signs and better protect themselves from sexual predators.” SEE ALSO: ‘The Game’ Actor Pooch Hall Is Facing Up To 6.5 Years In Prison In the corresponding slides, Chanchez tells a horrifying tale about how his friend’s father primed him for assault by asking him personal questions about his attractions and his sex life during car rides and time one-on-one. The now 37-year-old also said that the predator used the fact that he was raised by a single mom to fill the space of masculine authority that was lacking in his upbringing. “He knew my father wasn’t in my life and my mother was a single mom, so he would always tell me I was like his other son,” he bravely revealed. One day the molester leveraged that trust to assault him in the car and threatened to ruin his life if he told. At the end, he named his alleged assaulter by name, saying “I’m choosing to expose him now, to finally hold this man accountable.” You can read the entire account below. Sign Up For Our Newsletter!
