Well, so much for all those years of peaceful co-parenting. Last month, The Ashley's Reality Roundup reported on rumors that Kailyn Lowry is not getting along with her OG baby daddy, Jo Rivera. Now, Kail has confirmed that she's no longer on speaking terms with Jo. Lowry opened up about the situation on the latest episode of her Coffee Convos podcast. T hroughout his entire career London-born actor Idris Elba has used his craft as an avenue to bring narratives about Black pioneers to the big screen. Six years after playing the role of South African revolutionary Nelson Mandela in the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom , Elba will now star in a movie about the unsung stories of Philadelphia’s Black cowboys, Deadline reported. Production is now underway on #ConcreteCowboys , with Idris Elba starring with #StrangerThings ‘ Caleb McLaughlin https://t.co/QGTQhbG0nM — Deadline Hollywood (@DEADLINE) August 8, 2019 The film—titled Concrete Cowboys —is centered on the Fletcher Street Stables. Fletcher Street is a Black horsemanship community that has been in existence for over a century. It was cultivated as an outlet to help Black men and boys escape communities plagued by violence and crime and learn about the importance of discipline and responsibility. The film follows the journey of a teen who was sent to live with his father in North Philly. While adjusting to the new environment and bearing witness to the impact of gentrification and poverty, the teen discovers the community’s urban cowboy culture and explores how horse riding is used to escape the dire circumstances faced by those in the neighborhood. Concrete Cowboys is loosely based on a book penned by author Greg Neri titled Ghetto Cowboy . Actors Caleb McLaughlin , Jharrel Jerome , Byron Bowers , and Lorraine Toussaint star alongside Elba in the film. The film is being produced by Elba’s production company Green Door Pictures, Tucker Tooley Entertainment, and Lee Daniels Entertainment. Ricky Staub will serve as the film’s director. “Idris had expressed a desire to be involved in projects uplifting to the African American community,” Staub told Philly Mag in an interview. “Idris has a huge heart in wanting to uplift new voices and to make an impact on the community.” As for the real-life “Concrete Cowboys,” they’re excited to see the story be transformed into a film. Ika Bradford says Fletcher Street Stables has forever impacted his life. “I had my time and share of doing this and doing that, all the bad things that ended me up in jail. Just being around the horses keep me calm,” he told ABC 6 . “Just have something to do. Stay out of trouble. Take your mind out of things in the hood, they’re playing basketball in the hood, but there’s nothing like a horse stable, I’ll tell you that.” The film is currently in production and there is no word on when it is slated to be released. T his year has been nothing short of epic for Missy Elliott . In January she made history by becoming the first female rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and in May she became the first woman hip-hop artist to receive an honorary doctorate degree from the Berklee College of Music. The Virginia-bred rapstress—whose real name is Melissa Arnette Elliott —recently hit another major career milestone. Stars in attendance included B.Simone, Shiggy and more! RENT DUE tells the story of what happens when two cousins find themselves short on paying their rent . Reggie (Ray Jr.) lost his girlfriend, job and home all in the same day while his cousin Top (William Cobbins) he was robbed of his rent money after a wild night with strippers. The two must put their heads together to come up with the rent money without ending up in jail in the process. Even though CBS claims that Pauley Perette and Mark Harmon settled their differences , Pauley is not returning to NCIS . In fact, rumor has it that the seemingly unstoppable series is going to feature yet another dramatic casting shakeup. Could Gibbs get the boot and be replaced by a character fans never thought they’d see again? Rumors have been circulating that NCIS could have a major casting shakeup. Some speculation shared to Reddit suggests that the show may lose its 67-year-old lead, played by Mark Harmon, for a familiar face. “Gibbs is old now, I stand by that the only way this show can continue is if Ziva takes his place as team lead,” writes one Redditor. That same post continues: “Oh how wonderful that would be.” “They could just write that for her child’s protection Tony is taking care of her in hiding,” suggests another. That Reddit post adds: “I wouldn’t be mad at all, anything to have her back.” Back in 2005, Kate was famously murdered during an episode that shocked NCIS fans to their cores. This is when Cote de Pablo joined the cast, playing a complicated and tough-as-nails Mossad agent, Ziva David. Her character was a relentless badass, and brought something to the show even as characters and fans alike were mourning Kate. But in 2013, Ziva was seemingly killed off. It was years later, in 2016, that she surprised fans by being secretly alive. Could she make a return and take the helm of the show? Not all NCIS fans are convinced — particularly those of the older demographic who want their regular dose of Mark Harmon. “Heard what I hope is a stupid rumor; that ‘Ziva’ will be replacing ‘Gibbs,'” one woman tweeted. The tweet continued: “The only way I will continue to watch # NCIS is if Gibbs is promoted to Director.” “I’ve stuck with you through ‘Kate’s’ murder, ‘Tony’ leaving, ‘Abby’s’ leaving, & ‘Ducky’s’ reduced role,” the longtime fan wrote. “Enough.” Clearly, there are strong opinions on both sides of the aisle. There may be some logistical, in-universe barriers to Ziva returning to the fold and taking the helm. “[Timothy] McGee (played by Sean Murray) is the Senior Agent,” points out one Redditor. (Most of us Millennials know Sean Murray better from his role as Thackery Binks in Hocus Pocus , but he’s been with NCIS for the long haul) “And I really like him,” the original Ziva theorist replies. “But his character is not enough to replace Gibbs as team lead.” “In regards to NCIS continuing in ratings,” the Redditor continues. “I think Ziva is the only beloved team member by fans who could carry this show.” Still, some folks were simply not convinced. “She’s the junior NCIS agent, had divided loyalties,” one Redditor argued. Which is probably why so many reality TV junkies were shook by a tweet describing Bachelor In Paradise star Caelynn Miller-Keyes as “the lost, slutty Duggar sister.” Now, if you’re a member of Bachelor Nation, you’re probably familiar with Caelyn from Colton’s season of The Bachelor , as well as the current season of Bachelor In Paradise . We don’t think her behavior on either show could ever really be described as “slutty,” but maybe it’s a relative thing. After all, in the Duggars’ world, wearing a skirt that exposes your knees is considered downright scandalous. (“Knees are for prayin’, not displayin'” is something we could imagine Jim Bob saying.) As first pointed out by Life & Style , the tweet that prompted a million surprised head nods reads thusly: Take issue with the use of the word “slutty” if you want (We’re pretty sure it’s a joke, so maybe don’t take it too seriously?), but there’s no denying that the second part is true. Once you see the resemblance between Caelynn and the Duggar girls, it really can’t be unseen. They face up to 30 years in prison. Wowza, right? There are even rumors that their reality show is about to be canceled. It’s not like they can take the cameras into prisons, you guys. 2. TLC Swings the Axe on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Viewers were already disgusted with the antics from the Thompson-Shannon family, but things reached another level when news spread like wildfire that June Shannon was dating her daughter’s former molester. In a word? YUCK. 3. June Shannon Makes the Same Mistakes All Over Again To the surprise of many, June Shannon and her family returned to the spotlight thanks to We TV’s From Hot to Not — a series that focuses Shannon getting a body transformation. Despite the series, and extensive cosmetic surgery being a success, Shannon found warmth in the arms of another man who was less than savory. To everyone on the outside, it looks like June is addicted to crack cocaine. Hell, she was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in March 2019. Even an intervention months later failed to get June to dump her boyfriend, Geno Doak. Will another TV show be canceled as a result of her dumb decisions? 4. Big Brother 15’s Racism Big Brother has had its fair share of controversial houseguests, but Season 15 featured many of them being racist. It was horrible to watch, but Julie Chen managed to call all of the perpetrators out during their exit interviews. You don’t cross Julie and get away with it! 5. Jon & Kate Plus Lots of H8 Jon & Kate Plus 8 performed very well in the ratings because the titular stars seemed to love each other. All of that came crashing down when it emerged that they were not on the same page and couldn’t stand one another. Yikes. 6. Abby Lee Miller Dances Her Way Behind Bars Abby Lee Miller was sentenced to one year in prison for fraud after creating a secret bank account to hide her lavish income from the IRS. The Amber Rose Slutwalk founder took to social media to tell fans that her fifth annual slutwalk won’t be happening this October. According to Amb, she’s had a rough year and after cutting off TWENTY “toxic” people, she’s deadset on protecting her peace and that will, unfortunately, include canceling her annual sex-positive parade. Mind you, she’s currently pregnant with her second child and she’s citing dealing with backstabbers (who allegedly slept with her man), alcoholics and drug addicts as the reason for needing a break. Amb also detailed how a friend called child protective services on her TWICE and then sued her when she called to cuss her out. The lawsuit ultimately cost Amber $168,000 . “I stopped being friends with about 20 ppl last year. I’ve had friends steal jewelry and money from me, Sleep with my BF’s behind my back, Male friends lying and telling people we were sleeping together, Alcoholic drug addict friends, Abusive Friends, Toxic Personality friends,” wrote Amber on Instagram. “I even had a Friend call Social Services on me twice ( For no f—ing reason) only to Sue me for calling her and Cursing her out (When I found out it was her) smh That Phone call cost me $168,000…Man, the list goes on you have no idea.
