A year after stumbling through a Grammy Awards performance that was marred by technical difficulties, everyone's favorite British singer opened the 2017 version of the event by belting out one of her all-time classics. In front of a packed crowd inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, Adele simply stood on stage Sunday night and did what she does best: Sing . The 28-year old dazzles in a sparkling dress during a rendition of “Hello,” hitting every note perfectly and performing with the sort of heart and soul we've grown used to hearing from one of the world' best artists. And then she closed the number with a shout-out to her four-year old son. “Hello baby,” she said sweetly after completing the song, presumably a reference to little Angelo James at home. Before the ceremony began, Adele won the Grammys for best pop solo performance (for “Hello”) and best pop vocal album (for 25). She's pretty darn good, isn't she? Along with an Album of the Year nomination, meanwhile, Adele's latest record earned a pop vocal album of the year nomination, while “Hello,” was up for record of the year, song of the yearand best pop solo performance.
