It wasn’t all that long ago that Iggy Azalea was trying to kick off a career as a pop princess. (If you haven’t watched the “Nothing Like Me” video yet, you really should.)  Who would have thought that just six years later, that sheepish Britney-in-training would become the undisputed Queen of Rap? Iggy’s been breaking sales records for months now, but her latest achievement is a big one, and it puts her alone at the top of the current hip hop heap. With the release of her new single, “Black Widow,” Iggy is now the only rapper to ever have three top ten hits on the Billboard charts at the same time. You read that right: not the first woman, not the first of this decade…the first rapper ever to achieve this feat. Not bad for a 24-year-old girl from Mullumbimby, Australia. No, really – that’s the name of the town where she grew up. Haters will be quick to point out that one of the hits is Ariana Grande’s “Problem” which actually just features a guest verse from Iggy. But the fact remains that Jay Z, Kanye, and Eminem have been collaborating with pop stars for years, and still never had a trio of tracks perform this well simultaneously. So will this achievement finally earn Iggy the music industry cred she’s been fighting for?
