Massachusetts Woman Gives Birth To 14-Pound Baby via Huffington Post Meet Carisa Ruscak, the second-biggest baby ever born at Massachusetts General Hospital. Carisa came into the world on Tuesday, weighing 14.5 pounds — nearly double the size of the average American newborn. “Everyone in the operating room was like, ‘Oh my God, look at the size of this baby! Let’s get her on the scale, what does she weigh?’” mom Caroline told WHDH. “It validated me because I was in a lot of pain when I was pregnant, so to hear the size, it made sense,” she told WCVB. “That’s what we like, long and big. That’s what I am,” dad Bryan told the WCVB. “I’ve been teased a lot so I’m a good sport, no problem with me long as they don’t say anything bad about my little girl.” Born via Caesarean section, Carisa is roughly the weight of an average 6-month-old baby. ABC News reports that only about 1 in every 100,000 babies weigh 14 pounds or more. The couple’s first baby was more than 10 pounds so doctors were prepared for another big delivery . “She didn’t have diabetes or any other things that we associate with big babies,” Dr. Jennifer Kickham told WHDH. “Fortunately mom and baby are doing well.”

Melissa Gorga confirms to Us Weekly that her first jewelry line, the Melissa Gorga Collection, will hit HSN in July. “I have always loved fashion and styling with accessories. Since I was a girl, I would spend hours playing with my mother’s jewelry,” Gorga explains . “With this collection, I wanted to produce something fresh that was luxurious and bold, but accessible for stylish women at any age.” The line will be comprised of 24 items,such earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces. “I’ve always admired one-of-a-kind statement pieces so I wanted to create a collection of my own,” the mother of three suas. “When designing the collection, I was looking to create those ‘wow’ pieces that people would stop you and say, ‘Where did you get that?'” The most expensive bauble will only cost $100. Chelsea Clinton is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Marc Mezvinsky. The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced the news during the Girls: A No Ceilings Conversation event in NYC on Thursday, April. 17. “One more thing to say very quickly,” the 34-year-old addressed the crowd. “Mark and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year. I certainly feel all the better whether it’s a girl or a boy that they’ll grow up in a world with so many strong female leaders…” “I just hope that I’ll be as good to my child as my mom was to me,” she added. As mom Hillary replied: “I’m expecting a grand child which I’m very excited about.
