Splash News Seahawks Suspend Derrick Coleman After Hit-And-Run Charges Why would he leave the scene of an accident??! Via USA Today : Seattle Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman has been suspended indefinitely after he was arrested for hit-and-run Wednesday evening. Coleman was initially denied bail and remained in a Seattle-area jail Thursday morning. According to King County jail records, he is facing a felony charge of hit-and-run and vehicular assault. He was booked shortly after 1 a.m. PT. The Seattle Times reported Thursday that police in Bellevue, Wash., said Coleman walked away from a crash in which the driver of another car appeared to suffer a broken collarbone. Coleman, one of the Seahawks’ better special teams players, is legally deaf. He became famous when he was featured in a commercial for Duracell batteries in January 2014. The Seahawks’ quick decision to suspend Coleman is a notable difference from how punishment is typically handled for players arrested during the season, with teams typically deferring to the NFL to handle discipline pending the outcome of the legal process. A suspension is the least of this guy’s troubles.
Lil Wayne Prematurely Tweets R.I.P. Lamar Odom, Doesn’t Delete Tweet If ANYONE should know that the things posted on the internet do not always reflect fact, it’s Lil’ Wayne . Back in 2013, the YMCMB head honcho was “killed” by the internet when rumors began circulating that he was near death and had been read his last rites. One might think that an experience like that would make Dwayne a bit more sensitive to the accurate announcement of someone’s death on social media. But it hasn’t. This morning, Wayne posted the following to his Twitter page: Unfortunately, following this tweet, Wayne got word that Lamar had NOT been pronounced dead, but no one took away Wayne’s phone and changed his Twitter password. Thusly, Wayne was able to go back and offer a sincere and heartfelt apology: If you incorrectly pronounce someone dead in a public space then you had better come up with a much more f***in’ contrite mea culpa than a nonchalant “Woop”. To make matters worse, THE TWEET IS STILL UP! This lean-sippin’ sonofab!t¢# couldn’t even delete the thing! While we believe Wayne deserves the lashing that he’s gonna take for this, we want to make sure we dole out a lil’ work to the other insensitive azzholes who took to Twitter or Instagram before they got official confirmation of Lamar’s untimely passing. We truly hope and pray that Lamar pulls through and finds the help he desperately needs. Taye Diggs To Play Doctor In “Rosewood” Multi-Episode Story Arc Looks like Fox is investing in sexual chocolate! The network has just announced plans to reunite Morris Chestnut with his “The Best Man Holiday” co-star Taye Diggs for a recurring role on their new drama “Rosewood,” with plans for him to feature in a multi-episode arc. Diggs will portray “Dr. Mike Boyce,” a world-renowned infectious disease doctor based in Miami and the longtime best friend of Dr. Beaumont Rosewood (Morris Chestnut), who is brought in to consult on a case and catches the eye of Detective Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz), much to Rosewood’s surprise. The announcement marks a reunion between Diggs and Chestnut, both of whom starred in the hit feature film “The Best Man,” and its sequel, “The Best Man Holiday.” Diggs’ first appearance on ROSEWOOD is scheduled for November. In the next all new episode of ROSEWOOD, “Vandals and Vitamins,” airing Wednesday, Oct.14 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Rosewood and Villa suspect a brilliant doctor (guest star Adrian Pasdar, “Heroes”) has killed two of his patients, and they must find a way to make their case with limited evidence.
