AJ McCarron And Katherine Webb Pick Cancer Survivor To Be Flower Girl Via HuffPo reports: Just off his selection in the fifth round of the NFL draft, freshly minted Cincinnati Bengals player AJ McCarron has made an important pick of his own. The former Alabama quarterback and his new fiancée, Katherine Webb, have chosen Starla Chapman to be the flower girl at their wedding. Starla is a 5-year-old leukemia survivor, who met McCarron in 2011 when he visited the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital to hand out presents on Christmas Eve. When they first met, reports The Post Game, Starla gave McCarron a yellow wristband inscribed with the words “Just Trust.” He vowed to wear it, bringing Starla national attention when he played with it on during the BCS national championship game in 2012. Paula Patton Leaving Robin Thicke Over His Secret Affair With Woman They Shared Sexually Since they announced their separation in February it’s been assumed that Paula Patton had simply tired of Robin Thicke’s dirty dog ways — but a new report in Star Magazine alleges it’s one specific affair that pushed Patton over the edge: Rumors of cheating have dogged the 37-year-old for months, but Star can reveal that it was one ongoing affair that upset Paula so much, she could never forgive him — mainly because she had been involved with the “other woman” as well! For about two years, the duo had been carrying on a consensual three-way relationship with a massage therapist (whom Star will refer to as “Jasmine”). Things took a disastrous turn for the worst last summer, though, when Paula caught Robin and Jasmine carrying on a separate affair behind her back. “Paula felt betrayed and humiliated by both Robin and Jasmine,” an insider, who passed a polygraph test, reveals. “These were two people she thought she could trust the most, but in the end everything backfired on her.” Robin’s reps have categorically denied the assertions about Jasmine, but the insider says Paula is done for good. “Paula has realized that their relationship has run its course,” the source says. “She has no plans for salvaging her marriage to Robin.” Wow… They definitely seem like the kind of freaks that this sort of thing would happen with. Larry Johnson Says NBA Players Should Form Black Owned Basketball League Via NYPost Knicks executive and former player Larry Johnson had a decidedly different but still strong reaction to the racially insensitive remarks Clippers owner Donald Sterling is alleged to have made. On Saturday night, Johnson tweeted: “Black people your Focusing on the wrong thing. We should be focusing on having our own, Own team own League! To For Self!!’’ The initial indication was Johnson was calling for an all-African-American league complete with black ownership. It wasn’t the first time Johnson, who is black, concerned himself with the fact the NBA’s ownership is mostly white while its players are mostly black. During the 1999 NBA Finals between the Knicks and Spurs, Johnson caused a stir by saying: “We’ve got a lot of rebellious slaves on this [Knicks] team.” When asked at the time why he referred to his teammates as slaves, Johnson said: “I’ve got to explain that to you? We don’t go with the mainstream.’’ Johnson was hired by the Knicks two years ago and serves many roles as a basketball and business operations representative. Mariah Carey Reveals Plans To Surprise Fans With New Album We know she has a legion of fans but still! Billboard Magazine just revealed Carey’s plans as part of their upcoming cover story on the diva: Carey will be taking a surprise approach to the project by revealing her new album’s title, track listing, artwork and music all at once via to-be-announced digital partners (a physical release at retail is expected the following week.) “I have to be the one that announces this, especially the title,” Carey says, noting that the album takes its name from a “personal possession of mine that’s part of an entity that I’ve had almost all my life.” Though Carey doesn’t mention other artists in describing her strategy, it’s clear she’s taking a page out of the “Beyoncé” playbook. It’s a particularly direct parallel when you consider that Beyoncé herself was coming off an underperforming album (2011′s “4″) before opting to go the surprise route — much in the way that Carey’s last album, 2009′s “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel,” produced just one top 10 hit (“Obsessed”) and sold a disappointing 549,000 copies, low enough to cancel a planned remix album. Though last summer’s Miguel duet “#Beautiful” was a bonafide hit, peaking at No. 15 on the Hot 100 and selling 1.2 million downloads, a string of other singles (“Triumphant,” “Almost Home,” “Eternal [You’re Mine]“) have failed to catch fire along the way. In the Billboard cover story, out Monday, Carey and her new manager Jermaine Dupri talk candidly about the rocky road to the album’s launch – from the failed singles to her drama-plagued stint on “American Idol” in 2013 to the shoulder injury that nearly derailed her plans altogether (“I really downplayed that incident.”) And wait, how much of a surprise is this album really going to be now that the cat is out of the proverbial bag? The full Billboard interview drops Monday but here’s a couple more tidbits from the preview: Frequent collaborators Rodney Jerkins and Dupri are back for Album No. 14, but so is a surprisingly diverse roster that ranges from of-the-moment producers like Hit-Boy and Mike Will Made It, guest features from Wale, Nas and Trey Songz and even contributions from veteran arranger Larry Gold and the Love Unlimited Orchestra. There’s also “a special guest star that I’m not allowed to reveal,” Carey teases. Let’s just hope it’s not her hubby Nick Cannon! Mariah also says she isn’t ready to give up the mic : Despite recent comments to Bravo’s Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” (“If this were to be my last album, people would hear everything they needed to hear”), Carey is not calling it quits anytime soon. “I will always make music.
