Amber Portwood: Jailed For Lying About Drug Test!

Troubled Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is back in an Indiana jail after local prosecutors claimed she lied about a medical condition to avoid a drug test. As part of her probation, Portwood is required to undergo a weekly test and drug court appointment. She was apparently a no-show at last week. Amber told officials that she was on doctor-ordered bed rest following laparoscopic gall bladder surgery and required to remains so for 2-3 weeks. A good excuse … if only it were legitimate. Amazingly, Amber Portwood’s case manager didn’t want to take the reality star’s word for it. After he spoke to the doctor directly, he learned she lied . The doctor insisted she WAS well enough to attend her court obligations, and Amber was immediately hauled back to jail for missing the appointment. Because of the obvious violation of her probation, she’s expected to stay behind bars for at least a few weeks until a judge decides the next step. This isn’t her first drug test no-show … or legal issue stemming from her own lies. She also underreported her income to score government-subsidized housing. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]

Mariah Carey Celebrates Obama Announcement at Gay Nightclub

It’s safe to say that Mariah Carey and Bristol Palin reacted very differently to Barack Obama announcing his support of gay marriage this week. But while the daughter of a failed Vice Presidential candidate went public with wayward insults of Obama as a father , Glee and Dora the Explorer , Mariah simply went out and partied! Witnesses say Carey showed up at The Abbey Food and Bar in West Hollywood on Wednesday night, dancing the evening away at the gay nightclub with pal B. Scott. “She was very nice and gracious,” an onlooker at the establishment tells People , adding that the deejay recognized her after awhile and started to play some Mariah classics. At this, the ladies simply went “crazy” on the dance floor. Sort of like how Bristol went at Obama’s announcement, only not at all.

Bristol Palin Slams Gay Marriage, President Obama, Glee, Dora the Explorer

Apparently President Obama’s support for gay marriage , which he announced yesterday, does not sit well with Bristol Palin. Nor does the Fox hit Glee . In an anti-gay marriage blog post aimed at Obama’s first statement advocating same-sex marriage rights, Sarah Palin’s daughter does not hold back. In short, Bristol feels Barack is a stupid man, a weak leader and a bad father. Why? Because of his daughters’ role in his evolving gay marriage stance. “While it’s great to listen to your kids’ ideas, there’s also a time when dads simply need to be dads,” says the 21-year-old spawn of Sarah. “In this case, it would’ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage.” The unwed mother, whose baby daddy is totally MIA, continues, “As great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview.” Unless they’re Levi Johnston. “I guess we can be glad that Malia and Sasha aren’t younger,” she goes on , “Or perhaps today’s press conference might have been about appointing Dora the Explorer as Attorney General because of her success in stopping Swiper the Fox.” “Dads should lead their family in the right ways of thinking. In this case, it would’ve been nice if the President would’ve helped shape their thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee . ” So in summation, Bristol Palin turned out so well because her parents are heterosexual, President Obama is a pushover who lets Malia and Sasha script his policy statements, and watching Glee might make you gay. Thanks B! Should same-sex couples have the right to marry?

President Obama Announces Support For Gay Marriage

President Barack Obama today became the first sitting president to announce support for same-sex marriage, making his position on the subject clear. In a sit-down interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, Obama completed what has been a long and often dubious “evolution” on the controversial topic. “I’ve always been adamant that gay and lesbian Americans should be treated fairly,” Obama told Roberts in an interview that will air Thursday. Obama’s announcement, on the heels of North Carolina’s Amendment 1 ban on gay marriage in that state, was made after much soul-searching. “Over the course of several years, I have talked to friends and family and neighbors, and I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together,” he said. “When I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married .” The statement constitutes an act of political bravery on the president’s behalf, as 29 states have now banned gay marriage constitutionally. It’s also a major victory for the gay rights community, which has been pushing him to declare his support for marriage equality for years. Just last Sunday, Vice President Joseph Biden told NBC’s Meet The Press that he was personally comfortable with same-sex marriage. With the issue back in the news, the pressure on Obama intensified. The White House originally insisted over the weekend that Biden clarified his statement as being in reference to civil rights for gay couples. But the explanation was largely dismissed as a political dodge, a way for Obama to support for marriage equality without having to declare it himself. No longer. The president finally chose to speak out Wednesday in the wake of the North Carolina ban, with the White House hastily scheduling an interview. “It’s interesting, some of this is also generational,” the president said. “You know when I go to college campuses, sometimes I talk to college Republicans who think that I have terrible policies on the economy, on foreign policy, but are very clear that when it comes to same sex equality or, you know, believe in equality.” “They are much more comfortable with it. You know, Malia and Sasha, they have friends whose parents are same-sex couples. There have been times where Michelle and I have been sitting around the dinner table and we’re talking about their friends and their parents and Malia and Sasha, it wouldn’t dawn on them that somehow their friends’ parents would be treated differently.” “It doesn’t make sense to them and frankly, that’s the kind of thing that prompts a change in perspective.” The president’s support of same-sex marriage will have little political impact, at least from a practical standpoint, as most states have tackled the issue legislatively and/or judicially, outside the realm of the federal government. Symbolically, the impact is much more profound. As the first president to support marriage equality, he sets the bar for its social and political acceptance and retains the ability to shape public opinion further. What do you think of President Obama’s support for gay marriage?

Fawk A Republican Thug: GOP Newsletter Calls For Armed Revolution If Obama Is Re-Elected

Yo these people are wildin. Conservative Newsletter Calls For Armed Revolution If Obama Is Re-Elected After surviving two terms with an idiot President who sent the nation into a war based on lies and allowed greedy banks and the mortgage industry to drive us into the worst recession ever but these wanksters wanna go and get their guns on the man who has tried to clean up the mess? SMH: A monthly newsletter published by the Greene County Republican Committee in Virginia is raising eyebrows for including a column in its March edition that calls for an “armed revolution” if President Barack Obama is elected to a second term in November. Among articles denouncing a University of Virginia initiative to implement a living wage for employees of the institution, questioning if Obama is “America’s Most Biblically-Hostile U. S. President?” and an op-ed slamming the GOP establishment with generous use of capital letters, RightWingWatch picks out a column from the newsletter’s editor, Ponch McPhee. In it, McPhee urges readers to encourage other conservatives to vote in November. He goes on to warn that the consequences of not defeating Obama, a so-called “ideologue unlike anything world history has ever witnessed or recognized,” would be dire. “[W]e shall not have any coarse [sic] but armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November,” McPhee writes. “This Republic cannot survive for 4 more years underneath this political socialist ideologue.” A disclaimer at the bottom of the publication apparently attempts to account for this type of rhetoric, noting that the contributors do “not reflect the opinion of the Republican Party whole or in part” and are only representative of the “individual” — in this case, the editor himself. It’s crazy how reckless these people get. Armed revolution? This guy is on that treason isht right now. He needs a ho sit down. Source

For Discussion: Former DNC Chair Says Women And Latinos Are Terrified Of The GOP, Call Michele Bachmann “Ridiculous”

Howard Dean Says Women And Latinos Are Terrified By The GOP Any women here plan on voting for Mitt Romney?? Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean said Sunday that the policies promoted by the Republican Party have women and Latinos “terrified.” “Women are terrified of what the Republicans are talking about. They’re talking about basically stripping away their ability to have insurance pay for their birth control pills,” Dean said on “Face the Nation.” “Latinos are terrified of the Republicans, because they seem to have a total tin ear when it comes to the basic needs of treating people with dignity. “For Michele Bachmann to go on there and claim that women are going to vote for Mitt Romney is perfectly ridiculous,” Dean said, referring to the Republican congresswoman who also appeared on “Face the Nation” Sunday. Dean also suggested that “the average American thinks that Mitt Romney doesn’t care about them. Here’s a guy who’s building, during a campaign, a mansion in Malibu with an elevator for his car,” Dean said to Bob Schieffer. “He had a Swiss bank account and he invests in the Cayman Islands. I don’t think we’ve ever elected a president who has invested in the Cayman Islands as a tax dodge before. “This candidacy is a shipwreck”, Dean said, “and for Michele Bachmann to go on there and claim that woman are going to vote for Mitt Romney is perfectly ridiculous.” Responding to Bachmann’s charge that President Obama will be running on a record of “broken promises,” Dean defended the president, saying he has been successful in both the economy and foreign policy. “I think we’ve made some real progress,” he said. “Osama Bin Laden is dead. We have our troops out of Iraq. Our troops are coming out of Afghanistan. These are things that are important to the United States.” The former governor added: “The fact of the matter is that Barack Obama has created jobs, 4 million of them since he became President. The economy is in much better shape than it was when he took office.” “I think that’s a pretty good record for President Obama to run on.” Thoughts on this?? Sidenote: $MH at “Money” Mitt Romney. He got it all the way poppin!!!! Source
