Hide Ya Kids: 3-Year-Old Carolina Cutie Killed Playing With Pink Gun He Thought Was A Toy

This is so sad. Gun violence has claimed another young victim. Via Gawker reports : Police in Greenville, South Carolina, say a 3-year-old boy was killed Friday night after a pink gun he mistook for a toy accidentally discharged. Temorej Smith and his 7-year-old sister were in the bedroom of their unit at The Plantations at Haywood apartments, playing around with a pink handgun. Their parents were out of the house at the time, but their grandparents were reportedly sitting in the nearby living room. As the two siblings were playing with the weapon, it suddenly went off and Temorej sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Greenville Police have since ruled the boy’s death an accident. No charged have been filed, but the investigation continues. Police spokesman Johnathan Bragg said the incident tragically illustrates the importance of securing all household weapons. “If you have guns, if you own guns mostly we would prefer you have them in a lock box,” Bragg told News 4. “At least have them out of the reach of children.” Funeral services for Temorej will be held Wednesday afternoon at Golden View Baptist Church in Fountain Inn. This is so sad… Our condolences to his family. Gun owners, please, please, please be careful about leaving your weapons loaded and accessible to kids!

A Lil Positivity: The Barclays Center In Brooklyn Honors Segregated Black Basketball Stars

The Barclays Center Honors Segregated Black Basketball Stars Before black players were allowed to ball out as NBA superstars, there were a handful of segregated basketball teams known as “The Black Fives.” via The Grio The Barclays Center is linking Brooklyn’s African-American basketball history and its present-day team, the Brooklyn Nets, with a new installation of historic photographs of the Black Fives, early-20th century African-American basketball teams, throughout the arena’s main concourse. Before the NBA, there were the Black Fives, segregated basketball teams formed shortly after the game’s invention in 1891. To celebrate the unveiling of the large-scale photographs for Black History Month, the Barclays Center hosted an event Monday where Claude Johnson, founder and executive director of the Black Fives Foundation, greeted students, members of the local community, and descendants of Black Fives players. Johnson spoke about the historical significance of the Black Fives players and introduced each descendant present. The Black Fives teams were trailblazers for all African-American basketball players that have followed. According to Johnson’s website, Black Fives players “smashed the color barrier in pro basketball and helped pave the way for the Civil Rights Movement.” We salute these players during Black History Month….and every month.

Hi my name’s Esma and I’m from NY and this is MBE….

Hi my name’s Esma and I’m from NY and this is MBE. On Nov. 12th I went to go see Justin at Barclays Center and I got meet and greets from Allison. I was freaking out and crying all day long I didn’t know what to do! But when the time came, we were on line for the meet and greets and I met some of the crew: Kenny, Dan Kanter, and we saw/met Adam Braun too! Also Scrappy wanted to meet me so I could give him my gift I got for him and he DM’ed me asking me where to meet and when I’ll be at the arena, and I told him where I was but never got a reply. But I saw him walking past the M&G line & yelled his name and held my bag up for him and he came and took a picture and said “I’ve been looking all over for you!!” He was so funny and sweet, and I also gave him my letter to Allison thanking her for everything! After a couple minutes he gave me a shoutout on Twitter which I thought was pretty sick! So we waited more and more for the M&G but when the time came, the curtains fell. So we lost about 45 minutes and had to move to another location, which we started about an hour late and once it started they rushed us so we only got like 4 seconds with him since we started around 6:30. BUT OH MY GOD WHEN I ENTERED THE ROOM, HE WAS JUST AMAZING AND PERFECT I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN!!!!! I entered the room with my face like :O (a big open mouth/shocked face) and he looked at my mouth so I covered it with my hand and he started to giggle at me and pulled me to him. We took a picture and I stood on my tippy toes and he laughed cause I’m so short. After that he just half hugged me bye and omg, it was the best 5-10 seconds of my life. I started bawling my eyes out after! But not over yet, once the concert started (I had floor seats but not first row, kinda the middle/back), I couldn’t control myself so before it started. I just RAN to the front with my friend. It was so worth it cause I GOT FRONT ROW!! Literally when he started singing he touched my hand and I saw his sweat dripping. It was the best experience of my life. He’s so amazing live and amazing front row! I’m so surprised I got to accomplish this in one night and finally got my photo with him! And to top it all off, after the show when I came back home I tweeted at him saying his concert in Brooklyn was amazing and he RT’ed me! For the first time in 4 years he noticed me a couple times all in just one night! It was seriously the best experience ever. He’s amazing and to everyone else if you’ve never met him before: DON’T GIVE UP! Cause the longer you wait, the more it’ll be worth, and every second is amazing once you meet him! And never say never cause anything can happen -@esmailyas More: Hi my name’s Esma and I’m from NY and this is MBE….

Shots Fired! Nets “Head Cheerleader” Camel Talks Isht About The Knicks On Twitter

Let’s be real, he wasn’t with them shooting in the gym! Camel and King Bey were courtside for last night’s game between the newly relocated Brooklyn Nets and the NY Knicks and Hov showed he takes his minority ownership in the Nets seriously by flossin’ on Twitter: The Nets scored a 96-89 overtime victory over the Knicks… According to NY Daily News reports : 96-89 overtime victory over the Knicks. The Nets are now 3-0 with the minority owner in attendance. He watched courtside next to his superstar wife, Beyonce. Richard Gere and Michael Strahan were also at the Barclays Center. Despite Jay-Z’s Twitter confidence, Deron Williams downplayed the victory as a crowning achievement. “We didn’t win the championship of New York. We won a game and we’ll play them three more times, maybe again in the playoffs.” We’re with Deron… These Nets still got a long way to go. But in the meantime we’ll enjoy Hov’s Twitter presence, since it’s nearly non-existent most of the time. Hit the flip for more flicks. Getty Images

Hi my name is Carmela. I am extremely happy to actually have the opportunity to post My Bieber Experience. Let me start off by saying since 2009, I have been a dedicated belieber . I always have been known as, “Carmela the girl who’s in love with that Bieber kid.” My friends thought I was crazy, my parents still think I’m crazy but as Justin once said, “ ‘They’re not too obsessed. Nah, you know, I think my fans are really supportive and I’m glad that I have really devoted fans.” I simply can’t stress this enough, I love Justin Drew Bieber. This is the story of my dream of meeting Justin had finally came true. I was sitting at my computer at 10am with my dad, refreshing Ticketmaster. Justin Bieber was coming to MY neighborhood. Here I am, freaking out, while my dad is concentrated on finding the cheapest tickets. To be honest, at that point I didn’t care. I just wanted to be able to see Justin live. We bought four tickets at $90 each. They were in section 217 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. I called my 3 friends and screamed as loud as possible. And I thought this was good . A few months later, my uncle invited my cousins and I to a Brooklyn Nets basketball game at Barclays Center. My uncle’s sister happens to work at the Barclays Center and brought us into the Owner’s Suite . Ok this might sound off topic but this has to do with my Bieber experience, trust me. I was talking to my uncle’s sister and she mentioned how Justin Bieber was coming to the Barclays Center and how crazy it was going to be. I think I scared her when I jumped up and said, “IM GOING TO THAT CONCERT.” By the end of the night, she gave me her email telling me to email her to talk about the Bieber concert. I automatically knew something good was going to happened. I emailed her the next morning telling her where my seats were. I checked my email every single day and got NO REPLY. All I thought was, “That’s it, she’s ignoring me.” I tried telling myself that she is a very busy person and probably won’t reply for a while. After a couple of weeks, she finally emailed me back. I opened the email just to read, “Hi Carmela! I’m trying very hard to see what I might be able to do. The concert is sold out but I will try my best! ” Great. That was it. My dream was destroyed. I lost all hope. After a little I started to realize I was lucky enough to even be going to his concert, not every belieber has this opportunity. But my story is NOT over yet. The day before the concert I decided to check my email just to see if I had any emails. Ya know the usual. This time, I got an email from the lady. I opened it and it said, “Carmela I have 4 suite tickets for tomorrow! You and your friends are welcome to come. We will have a great view of JB! xoxo.” THIS MADE ME GO CRAZY. I was going to be decently close to Justin sitting in a suite, which was pretty cool because I was originally sitting at the very peak of the stadium. My friends and I were happy beyond belief. My day was finally here, November 12th, 2012. My friends and I spent the whole day getting ready. We were so excited words cannot explain. We got to the arena 3 hours early (just because of how anxious we were) and my dad dropped my friends and I off in front of the VIP entrance because we were supposed to meet the lady there since our tickets were inside. There were about 50-60 other fans waiting outside the VIP entrance with the hope of someone letting them in. I showed the security and workers the email that the lady sent me and they put ONLY my friends and I aside and said, “These girls are the only ones allowed in as of now.” Girls were screaming, crying and planning ways to sneak in. I felt so bad because I once knew how they felt. All I was saying was, “IMAGINE we meet him. Just imagine.” But I never, ever thought it would actually happen…. Then I saw my uncle’s sister walking through the crowd entering through VIP. I quickly tapped her shoulder and she said, “Oh sweetie you can come in later but I can’t bring you in now.” I then saw her daughter and her daughter’s friends inside and I knew that something was going on. I looked at her and begged, “Please, omg, PLEASE.” She told me she would “see what she could do.” She went inside and came back within 5 minutes. “Come with me,” she said. I watched as all the girls surrounding me looked at me and my friends as if we were the worst people on the planet. We walked into the building and I asked the obvious question, “Are we meeting Justin?” The lady said, “Well, that’s the plan!” THAT’S THE PLAN. THAT IS THE PLAN. That line repeated in my head over and over and over. My friends and I tried so hard to contain ourselves because we were in the presence of like billionaires. Everything was happening so fast. A week ago, we had the worst seats in the arena. The day before, we had pretty decent seats. Today, we are meeting him. We were then escorted to the basement of Barclays Center into a private room . People kept coming in and out to give us updates on when to come out. We didn’t have meet and greet wristbands or anything. We were just going to get in because of my uncle’s sisters position. “This is crazy.” “Is this real life?” That’s all we kept saying. We waited anxiously until some guy finally called us out. We all went behind the meet and greet and saw everyone who was on the line for the m&g. We then saw Justin. With our own two eyes. Justin’s crew was there and everything. Everything was happening so fast. We turned the corner of the black curtain and there he was. The most perfect human being on planet earth. He was so perfect he almost looked fake. It was shocking to see someone who I’ve seen on TV or on my computer screen for the past 3 years and now he was right in front of me. I walked in I stood next to him. His photographer was showing him one of the meet and greet picture he took and in the picture he was making a funny face. He goes, “Ahaha yo that’s hysterical!” and he had the cutest little giggle in the world. He then wrapped his arm around my waist and we took the picture. I turned to him and we just stared in each others eyes for a good 10 seconds. Then he hugged me and I just said to him the only words that could come out of my mouth, “I love you.” Over and over again. The thing that sucked about the meet and greet was that they rush you out. I then smiled and said to him “You’re perfect oh my god.” He was so sweet. He said to my cousin, “Come here sweetie,” so that she was in front of him for the picture. He told us we were so sweet and to enjoy the show. Then to top it off, walking backstage we ran into Cody Simpson and Jaden Smith! Cody passed us and said, “Hey ladies!” and Jaden who was down the hallway was jumping up and down waving saying, “HEYYYYY!!!!” This was honestly the best day of my life. If you haven’t met Justin yet, all I could say is never stop believing, because dreams clearly do come true. -@carmelaaxo  Visit link: Hi my name is Carmela.
