Roland Emmerich on Anonymous — ‘The Single Greatest Filmmaking Experience of My Life’

I interview a lot of people at this job — many talented artists on an intellectual spectrum so wide and sometimes with personas so canned and specific that you rarely know from one chat to the next who you’re going to get, or if they’ll even be the same person the next time you meet. That’s not a problem with Roland Emmerich, which is why he might be my favorite interview going right now.

Sinead O’Connor: Desperate for Sex, Seeking Men Not Named Brian or Nigel

Sinead O’Connor has a new look , and a new, disturbing demand: the singer craves sexual intercourse. On her official website , the singer has posted an entry titled “Is Sinead About to Hump Her Truck?.” It reads: “I recently read of a woman in America who married and regularly humps her truck. I don’t yet own a truck but I’m beginning to understand her head space. And I am worried I too may be so desperate for sex that within days I might run up the road and hump Bray Cab’s whole fleet in one hour.” Stuck in a “dire” situation, O’Connor – who once tore up a photo of The Pope on Saturday Night Live – writes that she is in the “peak of my sexual prime and way too lovely to be living like a nun, and it’s very depressing.” In “desperate need of a very sweet sex-starved man,” the artist is specific in her request. Potential suitors “must be no younger than 44, must not be named Brian or Nigel, must be blind enough to think I’m gorgeous, has to be employed and he has to like his mother.” So, we ask all readers not named Brian or Nigel: Would you hit this?

Taylor Lautner Credits Characters for Success

Taylor Lautner might be a little too modest. In the latest issue of VMAN, the dreamy actor doesn’t take any credit for the mammoth success of The Twilight Saga, instead telling the magazine: “It’s definitely these characters we are playing. [Fans] are in love with Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black. They feel like they know them. We are just lucky enough to be playing them.” Stare all you’d like, ladies. He’s not going anywhere. True, but it’s possible the looks and the talent of Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson play some role. Taylor, of course, would never complain about his stardom. But he does point out one downside: “When I am traveling the world promoting the films, I say I am on vacation, but it’s not really true. When I go to a beautiful city I spend the whole time in a hotel room and then I am back on a plane to the next place.” Lautner next stars in Abduction . Check out a feature on the movie NOW .
