So this is why her relationships never work out. Taylor Swift has been pining for Schivrang all these years! The singer popped up (literally!) on last night’s New Girl Season 2 finale, portraying a young woman named Elaine who is the one true love of CeCe’s near-husband, telling him during a hilarious cameo: “I’m so lonely that I just lie awake at night and write about you in my journal and I paint pictures of you on my easel.” Safe to assume this tiny role was written with Swift in mind, huh? The latest issue of Allure features Zoe Saldana nude and quotes the actress as saying she’s androgynous . But it’s a number on the cover of this magazine that is actually stirring up the most controversy, as editors describe the actress as “115 pounds of grit and heartache.” Why advertise such a low number, many are asking? Doesn’t this set a poor example? “We conclude that 115 is a number meant to represent an attractively tiny weight,” writes New York Magazine. “Delicate and tiny, making her “grit” all the more charming. Just a tiny little pretty thing, but boy, little missy packs a punch! A rare catch, that 115-pounder, same size as the prize tuna fish. Either that or they think it’s a “healthy” weight. Bizarre and unnecessary either way.” Saldana stands 5’7″, notes the website Stlyeite, making it seem like the publication was purposely trying to “drum up” buzz by including the figure. Adds The Frisky: “There’s so much pressure for women, other actresses and models in particular, to look attain a mainstream definition of attractiveness, and how much other women with other bodies weigh is not helpful.” What do you think? Allure listing Saldana’s weight is… Setting a bad example! Totally fine! View Poll »

Eazy-E and Ol’ Dirty Bastard are about to perform live for the first time since … well, they died. The rap legends will take the stage as holograms this fall! Promoters for the annual “Rock the Bells” hip hop festival in September and October have announced a “virtual” Eazy and a “virtual” ODB will perform. Better yet? Hologram Eazy-E will perform with living, breathing Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, while O.D.B. will appear alongside the Wu Tang Clan! Family members have reportedly signed off for both holograms, and if they’re half as good as Tupac at Coachella , the fans will likely approve as well: Tupac Coachella Performance

Nas let us know life is real good right now. And a week before his final show at Rock the Bells, he answered a few questions we’ve all been wanting answers to…mainly, “How did Kelis feel about the cover of his Life Is Good album? You’re preparing to hit the Rock the Bells stage. Why are there only a few hip-hop branded festivals out there? Hip-hop brings out America’s youth in ways that scares America’s adults. So when you pack a city or place with those kinds of fans, people get nervous. That’s one reason. Another reason, hip hop is raw, it’s a raw genre. It’s not so shiny, no matter how many chains people wear. It’s still a real streets thing. It has not yet reached the Rolling Stones touring levels like rock ‘n’ roll has. It’s still the word of mouth, did-you-hear-this-song-last-night small crowd that embraces each artist one at a time. We like to own it before it becomes commercial. When it becomes commercial, the core hip-hop fan tends to walk away from it. What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned in the last two years? No matter what, everything will be alright. A lot of people are scared of failure. A lot of people are scared of love and being hurt. A lot of people are scared of taking chances. No matter what, everything will be fine. Was there ever a time you felt even your fans didn’t understand what you were trying to convey in your music? A lot of times. But you never get off your path. Even when I’m doing stuff that I feel isn’t really good, when I feel like it’s off or bad, those are my moments I go back to — my human moments — where I say I was really just a human there, I wasn’t great there, I was just me. That is a great thing to see and feel. Like, ‘Hey, look at me at that point.’ Yeah, people weren’t feeling it, but I was naturally me. What did having Amy Winehouse on the record mean to you? Having Amy on my record … it grew into a different thing. It wasn’t just your typical rap album because she blessed it. It was serendipitous. She was an angel. She is an angel, so she blessed that entire project with just that one song. That was just God. I think God makes things happen that we can’t explain sometimes. She was a gift, a pure artist. I give that to God. Your “Behind the Music” revealed so much about your personal life and your divorce. How hard was it to convince you to do it? Because the media covered it so much — some true stuff, some false — everyone was telling my story for me. Everyone except me. I didn’t want to do “Behind the Music,” and I found out my people told them they can start it and they had already started the production. It took some persuading, but I agreed for a couple of things: It’s not the end of the world to tell your story, and it doesn’t mean anything other than you telling your story. It was hard for me because I was never that kind of guy. I can make music about it all day long but to sit down with you, other than a quick interview, for an in-depth thing … it was out of question. This was the most I’ve ever done as far as telling my story. But I’ll tell you like this, if you can last as long as I’ve lasted so far, there’s nothing wrong with reintroducing yourself to fans and listeners. There are so many artists that come out all the time that could be forgotten or not be appreciated. And these are important stories, and I thought it was cool to let people inside. The “Life Is Good” cover got plenty of ink. What did Kelis think of it? She wanted to know exactly … she wanted to hear from me what it meant. I told her, basically it’s life. It’s wins, it’s losses, but life goes on. And this is a part of my life, a part of her life and she was a part of my life. It’s my story. And I wanted to do this in a way to open up hip-hop music in a way it probably hadn’t been opened up before as far as an artist getting into a personal situation. This particular story has never really been done [in hop hop]. I said this is fresh, this is new, and she really appreciates it and loved the concept. She thought it was pretty dope. You said you didn’t think you’d last this long in the business. Is there something in particular that made you think that? One of the reasons is, man, how [messed up] the business was in the ’80s when great acts like Public Enemy, De La Soul, NWA, and Tribe were around. The record business was a lot worse. My generation benefited from their losses or from their sacrifices … and realize the torch they had in their hands was supposed to stay lit. For me that’s important. My ego is not as big as hip-hop is. Hip-hop comes before Nas. A lot of these guys have egos, and that’s a character flaw, it’s one of the ugliest character flaws … an artist with ego. If Hip-Hop of late has been messed up, we’re hyped to hear Nas is stayin’ in the game and driven. Source Images via Twitter/WENN

First clip from band’s Reign of Terror album grabs, throttles and leaves you begging for more. By James Montgomery Sleigh Bells’ Alexis Krauss in their “Comeback Kid” video Photo: Mom & Pop So there’s not exactly a ton of wanton violence or bizarre high school fetishism in Sleigh Bells ‘ brand-new “Comeback Kid” video (though the threat of both certainly exists throughout), but as the dynamic duo prepare to release the follow-up to their breakout Treats album — appropriately titled Reign of Terror — you can take solace in the fact that they’re not straying too far from what got them to this point. In a sense, “Comeback Kid” only expands on both the Bells’ signature sound (Alexis Krauss’ saccharine coos coupled with Derrick Miller’s shifty shredding, with trilling, thrilling electronic ephemera tossed in for good measure) and their look. They’re both rocking Ray-Bans and Krauss’ bangs are as blocky as ever (though, as the video reveals, she may have gone blond). They effortlessly pair letterman jackets and Nirvana T-shirts with DayGlo Daisy Dukes and studded leather jackets. The video recalls ’80s teen romp comedies, all proof that, like its music, the band has not met an era it couldn’t incorporate … with maximum impact, of course. So, while there are a grand total of zero explosions in the “Comeback” video (unlike “Infinity Guitars”), and while neither member of the band shoves the other out of a speeding car (that would be the basic plot behind “Rill Rill”), the new video is a logical successor to both those clips. It’s a whirling collection of eye-catching, seemingly disparate imagery — Krauss jumping on a bed while cradling a rifle, dreamy beachscapes, suburban skateboarding, a winking dog, grocery store high jinks — that all builds to a candy-colored climax. Like they proved with the (thoroughly awesome) teaser trailer for Terror, Sleigh Bells definitely know how to make a music video, and “Comeback Kid” is just the latest example. It doesn’t have to make a whole lot of sense — or, really, any sense — to grab you, throttle you, and leave you begging for more. What did you think of the “Comeback Kid” video?
