Lee Rosbach has spoken out for the first time about every parent’s worst nightmare. The Below Deck star has given an interview in which he discusses the death of his son, Joshua . As reported in July, the ship captain and reality star lost this child to an accidental overdose just a few months ago. And, as you might obviously expect, Rosbach is still dealing with unimaginable pain in regard to the tragedy. “I deal with it every day. I hate going to sleep, and I hate waking up. There’s a hole there that can’t be filled,” the Below Deck star told the New York Post’s Page Six on Saturday, October 12. He continued, holding nothing back: “And the person who said, ‘time heals all wounds,’ is full of it. It doesn’t. The only thing that time may do for you is allow you to learn the skills you need to cope with the situation that you’re dealing with. “As parents, you’re not designed to bury your children.” Joshua battled addiction for over 20 years prior to his passing. He was found dead this summer at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Lee, horrifically, was the person who found his son’s body. “I walked in and he was sitting on the sofa with his head in his hands, and I thought he had just passed out. I felt relieved. I thought he was fine,” Lee told the publication , adding: “Then I went over to give him a hug, and he was cold. He’d gone.” Just incomprehensible all around. Despite his son’s aforementioned substance abuse issues, the reality TV personality added that he thought Josh was doing well before his untimely passing. “He had a DUI conviction about 12 or 13 years ago that he finally got off his record. He’d got himself a car. He was working,” said Rosbach. “We thought we might have hit a milestone.” Lee went on to note how he and his family (the captain has four other children) aren’t alone; thousands of people are lost to drug addiction every year. He plans to help fight the opioid epidemic, but is still searching for the right opportunity: “I don’t want to start something, then not be able to finish it,” Rosbach says. Joshua had been off painkillers and heroin for about six months when he died. Medical examiners told the family that Josh had relapsed and bought pills that appeared to be prescription opioids … but were in fact counterfeits, laced with five different substances including cocaine, heroin and the incredibly powerful, lethal drug Fentanyl. “There’s a lot of guilt that comes with something like this. What if I’d gone over to his house sooner? What if I’d done this? What if I’d done that? I should have made his life easier,” Lee said. “So you carry around a tremendous amount of guilt. 1 2-year-old activist Amariyanna Copeny —dubbed Little Miss Flint—is furthering her efforts to address the water crisis in her city. According to Atlanta Black Star , Copeny teamed up with a water filtration company to make clean water accessible within her community. This is my water filter. The funds will go towards creating a long-term sustainable solution to the water crisis by bringing state-of-the-art water filters to underserved communities. The implementation of the water filters would give individuals the ability to have safe running water within their households instead of spending long periods of time waiting in line to get donated bottles of water. It would also curb plastic waste. Over $130,000 has been raised towards her $150,000 goal. Copeny is partnering with the company Hydroviv which designs and builds custom water filters. “Ever since April 2014 my community has been faced with a lead crisis that we’re still recovering from. My community needed water they could trust and bottled water was the only resource for drinking water that many in my community trusted,” she wrote on her GoFundMe page . “For my new donation campaign, my team has partnered with a socially-responsible water filtration company, which will allow us to maximize the impact of donated funds and eliminate the single-use plastic waste that is associated with bottled water.” Copeny has been dedicated to spreading awareness about the Flint water crisis and evoking change. Through her campaigns, she’s donated over one million bottles of water to families in need. Young activists are stepping up to address Flint’s water crisis. In March, rapper and actor Jaden Smith ’s eco-friendly natural spring water brand JUST Goods Inc. joined forces with Flint’s First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church to implement a system called “The Water Box” which can help reduce lead and other toxic chemicals in contaminated water. The program will reportedly train African-American students in various areas of the entertainment industry. Starting January 2020, it will span two semesters, students will training and get experience with marketing, entertainment law, project greenlighting and more in Los Angeles. Williams’s foundation has reportedly paid for over 500 mammograms in Pittsburgh, Memphis, Charlotte and Jonesboro, Arkansas since 2015. He began the free screening program, “53 Strong for Sandra,” as a tribute to his mother after she died at the age of 53. The former NFL player has also lost four aunts to breast cancer. Myscellent Shelton-Cox,23, was taken to a Nashville jail after the video appeared of her twerking on top of a Mustang on Sept. 20. “I take chances in life because at the end of the day, there’s too many rules.” Shelton-Cox said, admitting during the interview that she didn’t think she had done anything wrong. She said her dancing skills are from her cheerleading days when she was a child. “We’d been sitting in traffic for 30 minutes, waiting on the train. I told my friend to drive my car, hopped on the car, did my little dancing and you know, just having a good time. I’m going to put on a little show, you know. I’m in traffic anyway. Why not turn up in traffic?” According to the arrest warrant she “was unrestrained and her actions were causing other motorists to divert their attention.” The police also state that she “caused undo hazard to other motorists,” which may or may not have been the case.
