Rubbin Sarpong Scams Women Out Of Millions Another day, another scam. A New Jersey man is behind bars after authorities say he scammed 30 women out over $2.1 million by posing as a “sweet message sending” soldier online. Rubbin Sarpong, a 35-year-old Ghanaian citizen with US residency, was recently arrested for swindling women on sites like Plenty of Fish, Match.com by posing as a U.S. soldier serving in Syria. Things got so bad apparently that authorities allege that one woman committed suicide after transferring nearly $94,000 to Sarpong and his crew. Unfortunately, the well-decorated soldier couldn’t get his bars back to the U.S. so he needed their help. The fraudulent scheme worked on 30 women who sent personal checks to Sarpogn (and his accomplices) and wired money to his bank accounts. Sarpong is charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud. None of his co-conspirators have been charged and he faces up to 20 years in prison. These days, reality stars live out their lives on two separate stages: On social media, we receive minute-by-minute, unfiltered updates on their daily lives, while on TV, we get a more polished version a few months later. Just sayin.’) began with a birthday party for Ronnie and Jen’s 1-year-old daughter. Not surprisingly, Jen decided to ignore the “birthday” and “1-year-old” parts of that description and instead focus on the paaaaarty! Shots, margaritas, more shots … under normal circumstances, it would have been strange behavior at a toddler’s birthday party. But Jen’s single-minded focus on getting sh-tfaced was made even more bizarre by the fact that Ronnie was newly sober at the time, having just completed 6 weeks of in-patient rehab. It often felt as though Jen was less concerned with getting inappropriately hammered at a child’s birthday party and more concerned with rubbing her freedom to do so in Ronnie’s face, which is … insanely messed up. Speaking of people who are attempting to turn their lives around, Mike Sorrentino factored prominently in the episode despite the fact that he’s still munching down on tortilla pizza in a federal detention center. He made a phone call during little Ariana’s party, and Vinny and Pauly went to visit The Sitch — but not surprisingly, the COs weren’t keen on letting a Shore camera crew onto the grounds. Kinda hard to make the pitch that you’re filming a serious documentary when you’re the show that invented the “smush room.” Getting back to 24 — yeah, obviously it’s tough to judge a relationship on the basis of a single interaction, but on Twitter, fans were unimpressed with Zack’s smug superiority. You’re not gonna find a stronger, more self-possessed woman on reality TV than Jenni — we just hope she’s going into this thing with her eyes wide open. As we reported earlier this week, several members of the Duggar family are in the Bahamas assisting in hurricane relief efforts . Sounds admirable enough at first, but like everything the Duggars do, the rescue mission has become a source of controversy. The official Duggar Instagram account (operated by Jim Bob and Michelle) announced the trip by posting the above photo. Their caption read: “John, Jana, Jason, and James took off early this morning with a medical and disaster relief team to the Bahamas to help after the massive devastation from #HurricaneDorian.” The Duggars’ efforts were criticized from the start for two distinct reasons: For one, many questioned the decision to leave Jana Duggar out of the photo, despite the fact that she took part in the trip. That’s upsetting enough. On top of that, the Duggars have been blasted online for their lack of training, as several fans have pointed out that there’s not a rescue professional in the bunch. Moreover, it seems they founded their own rescue organization for the trip – something they’ve called Medic Corp – rather than simply joining up with the Red Cross or another well-established organization. This could be because they feared they’d be turned away for their lack of training and experience. Or it might be because Medic Corp was created with a profit or tax-incentive motive in mind. Either way, it’s troubling. Still, the Duggars deserve credit for their willingness to roll up their sleeves and get to work rebuilding the battered Bahamas. Right? And fans should definitely lay off Anna Duggar for recent, innocent comments she made about their efforts. Anna is pregnant with her sixth child , so she obviously didn’t participate in the rescue effort herself, but she’s been offering words of support on social media. “Keep praying for those that have been affected by this terrible hurricane,” she wrote. She later commented on posts made by her sisters-in-law, writing: “And [pray for] all of the people that have gone down to do relief work!” and “Praying for the group.” All of those comments went mostly unnoticed, of course. When Anna announced her plans to “have a girls night while the guys are away!” however, some of her followers became upset. Yes, apparently, a number of ultra-sensitive Instagram users felt that it was inappropriate of Anna to use the hurricane as an excuse to have fun. We guess we would agree if that’s what she were doing – but she’s not. Would these critics have the same objection to a bunch of military wives getting together while their husbands are overseas? We think not. What’s really going on here is that a lot of folks simply don’t like Anna, ever, because she’s still married to Josh Duggar . XXL is reporting that the “Fefe” rapper is gearing up to testify against some of his old Nine Trey Gangsta Blood homies turned alleged kidnappers, Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack when their trial begins next Monday (Sep. 9). Based on listed information that coincides with Tekashi—namely the prosecution’s listing of CW-2 (cooperating witness two) as having been kidnapped on July 22, 2018, and the prosecution’s request for defense attorneys to ignore the witness’ October 2015 sexual misconduct conviction—6ix9ine is expected to take the stand against the two men at some point during the trial even though his name isn’t listed in the docs. While prosecutors think 6ix9ine was kidnapped by Ellison, Ellison’s attorney, Devereaux Cannick, says the abduction was faked for the sake of 6ix9ine’s album promotion. “No robbery or kidnapping or assault happened,” he told Page Six last month. “He was about to drop another album…gotta get that buzz up. That’s how he makes money.” That’s a good defense but kidnapping, beating and robbing a rapper who constantly took to social media claiming he’d never get touched wouldn’t exactly help his career in a positive manner. Just sayin.’ Still, putting hands and robbing the rainbow haired rapper isn’t the only charges the two are facing as the two men was also indicted “for participating in a racketeering conspiracy for their criminal involvement in Nine Trey, using and carrying firearms, which were brandished and discharged, in connection with the racketeering conspiracy.” Mack was also indicted for conspiracy to distribute heroin, fentanyl and MDMA and using and carrying a firearm in connection with the narcotics conspiracy. For his own set of separate charges, Ellison was indicted for using or carrying a firearm during and in relation to, or possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, which was brandished, and two counts of violent crime in aid of racketeering. The former charge is thought to be related to 6ix9ine’s kidnapping last year. If word that Tekashi is to get his freedom back as early as 2020 is to be believed then we’re pretty sure the Brooklyn rapper is prepared to sing like the chart topping artist he was when he idiotically posted a video in which he put a hit out on Chief Keef’s cousin not long before they were shot at in Manhattan. If only Tekashi 6ix9ine was tight with his “president” Donald Trump before the fame and fortune we might actually be rooting for him to drop dime.

In the midst of everything she’s gone through, music has been a solace. And when your father’s R. Kelly, things can get rough. Abi explained when her father’s “sins” started seeping into her own life. “At home it’s normal, you’re living a life with your parents; your dad and mom aren’t going to go into all the bad things that might be going on outside of home,” she said, “but kids in school don’t necessarily care. Fifth and sixth grade is when I started learning the sore part of it, the not so good part. I think that was the hardest part for me because for so long I went with this image of who my dad (was) and what my family (was).” When her classmates started telling her stories about her own father, Abi said there were times when she considered suicide. The two collaborated on a song called “Wanna Be There.” It appeared on Kelly’s 2015 album The Buffet. “At that time I was in a place where I was genuinely trying to have a relationship with my father. But it was so complicated at that time, as it always is. It was a great experience, I’m glad that I did it, but it just wasn’t like what everybody assumed, and that’s the part that sucks. It wasn’t this big kumbaya moment.” If it didn’t happen then, the likelihood of it happening now with R. Kelly being in jail as he awaits his trial in April is unlikely.
