Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is going to honor Aaliyah with a figure of her in their throwback room. Starting on August 22, fans will be able to jam and reminisce with the late icon at the museum. The famous Las Vegas museum is also hosting a contest for some lucky fans to attend the VIP launch party for the unveiling of the figure. To enter, contestants must share their best Aaliyah-inspired look with the hashtag #ShowUsYourAaliyah on Instagram and the Aaliyah app. You can find out more info here . According to CNN , the now 31-year-old was sentenced to life in prison when she was only 16 after killing a man who paid her for sex. In January, she was granted clemency by then-Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, according to the Tennessee Department of Corrections. Now, Cyntoia is finally returning to a life outside bars. “I look forward to using my experiences to help other women and girls suffering abuse and exploitation,” Brown said after being released on Wednesday. Brown’s case drew national attention over the years with activists, lawmakers and even celebrities like Rihanna bringing attention to her case. The hashtag #FreeCyntoiaBrown even went viral on social media back in 2017 . Brown will be coming out with a bachelor’s degree and she’s collaborated with Tennessee’s Juvenile Justice System to help advise young people who are at risk. “She is light years today, as a woman, different from the traumatized 16-year-old that she was,” Derri Smith, CEO and founder of non-profit End Slavery Tennessee, said back in January. “She’s mentoring troubled youth, working on her college degree, she is planning a nonprofit so she can help other young people.” Congrats to Cyntoia and hopefully we can expect more great things!

In an Instagram post, Williamson announced her departure while naming those who carried out the alleged acts. “I will not be returning for Season 2 of The Rookie,” Williamson wrote in the caption for the post. “I owe it to you my amazing fans to share the Truth. Throughout the filming of the pilot, I experienced Racial Discrimination/Racially Charged inappropriate comments from the hair department and bullying from Executive Producers.” She added, “During the Season, it continued along with Sexual Harassment from a recurring guest star, Demetrius Grosse, and the racist commentary & bullying from the Hair Dept. Head, Sally Ciganovich escalated into Sexual Assault at our Wrap party. The Sexual Harassment though reported directly to the Showrunner/EP remained undocumented and was not reported to HR as promised. Ciganovich was fired ONLY after the sexual assault and NOT for an entire year of outward racism/racially charged language and bullying behavior in and out of the Hair and Makeup trailer. I asked the Showrunner about this and he admitted to me that the Grosse had not been fired nor had he gotten HR involved. I was asked to return this season, and promised that “everything was handled.” The investigation hadn’t even begun and Season 2 had already started filming. I turned it down and I walked. Now is the best time in the world to be a woman and I have a platform so it’s time to use my Voice. Strength comes from within. Per reports, which were scarce this morning, the 25-year-old was at Circle House Studios in Miami working on music. When she was leaving in her Mercedes G-Wagon late in the evening, a gift from her partner, producer Southside (aka, 808), the car was shot at a number of times. Perhaps the car was bulletproof, as it seems that Brownlee, who is pretty far along in her pregnancy with her second child, is okay. She was recorded explaining her ordeal to someone at the scene. Smh wow prayers for her and baby 808’s protection.” This incident comes about a week after she responded to incarcerated and fellow Florida-based rapper Kodak Black’s threats to punch her in her stomach . “And I bought Yung Miami a ring, she wanted 808’s baby/When I see her I’mma hit that b—h in her stomach/The way I keep this shit too real f–kin’ up my money,” he said in a freestyle from jail. She, of course wasn’t with the shenanigans, but kept her thoughts on the troubled rapper’s comments brief when responding on social media: “Poor a– n—a Kodak ain’t dust s–t!” This seems to be a very volatile time for the expectant mom out of the blue. There are rumblings online that after Southside spoke out against Kodak in defense of her, he was threatened, and the shooting could have been part of that. It may be in her best interest to lay low as she finishes up her pregnancy — or at least get some tight security. She hasn’t said anything publicly since the incident, but fans are hopeful that everything is fine with the “Act Up” rapper. Fans are also pretty pissed.
