Paola Mayfield and Russ aren’t exactly blissful — the 90 Day Fiance couple’s relationship has had its ups and downs. As you might recall, conservative Russ took issue with Paola Mayfield’s topless photos . After one bit of friction that the two experienced on camera, Paolo posted a photo of the two looking very happy. But … it looks like she’s trying to start a feud with another star of the show: Anfisa Arkhipchenko. Paola captioned the above photo with a reference to a scene from the latest episode, where her friend Juan had poked a little fun at Russ. “I’m sorry I didn’t back you up with @juan_a_palacio” That’s simple enough, right? An unnecessary apology (but maybe she just did it to save face after the episode?). But that wasn’t all that she has to say: “But you know I would never strike you.” That might seem like a strange or alarming phrase, right? Usually, that kind of denial is a huge red flag about someone’s relationship. But we don’t think that Paola was talking about their relationship at all. She was almost certainly shading her fellow 90 Day Fiance star, Anfisa Arkhipchenko. Anfisa Arkhipchenko is perhaps best described as a “nightmare gold digger.” She’s Russian and she came to the US and married Jorge Garcia with the expectation that she would live like a princess on his wealth. And Anfisa is probably pretty enough to be someone’s trophy wife, right? To say that she’s been “disappointed” to learn that Jorge is in debt is an understatement. She’s not even subtle about the fact that she wants money. And Paola’s singling her out without even saying her name. As for the “I would never strike you,” line … Jorge and Anfisa sat down to negotiate a postnup. Because Anfisa doesn’t want to absorb Jorge’s debt. (Though she’s fine with spending his money) After the two of them are left alone to talk, they both get frustrated. Jorge suggests that, from the way that she’s acting, Anfisa might not be mature enough for this discussion. Instead of replying like an actual person, Anfisa tries to hit him in the face. Jorge deflects it with his arm, but that’s really not the point. Hitting somebody is assault. Hitting your spouse is domestic violence. (By the way, TLC aired the footage! Of what is clearly a crime!) Jorge has his own issues — lying about his finances, for starters. (Also, if she’s too immature to talk about finances, isn’t she too immature to marry, even if she is 21 years old?) But nobody needs to get hit. Paola was clearly referring to this super f–ked up woman and relationship. 90 Day Fiance airs on TLC. TLC is the network that exposes the world to the Duggars, and thus to that unrepentant creep Josh Duggar. TLC is the network that airs Kate Plus 8 , starring that absolute beast of a woman, Kate Gosselin. We guess that Anfisa Arkhipchenko must feel right at home among her fellow nightmares who should never be allowed around human beings or non-human animals. But TLC sure can pick ’em, huh? We don’t know that Paola was trying to start up a feud with Anfisa. But Anfisa is awful. Paola might have just been trying to use humor to deflect from what fans might see as her shortcoming by pointing out that Anfisa is immeasurably worse. She’s not wrong. Nobody outside of Sister Wives seems to actually like Kody Brown. He’s obnoxious and hella rude, and it sounds like, lately, his behaviors been getting worse and worse. To the point where he may lose everything. We don’t know if he’s spiraling in a quest for ratings or if he’s authentically preparing to crash and burn, but frankly it doesn’t really matter — he doesn’t deserve his wives. They don’t deserve to have to put up with him. And according to a new report, all four of them have started to realize that, too. So, as we already talked about, Kody Brown is rude and maybe even verbally abusive to his four wives. That, by itself, is more than enough reason to drop him in the garbage where he belongs and move on with your lives. And there’s the boundless tensions brought up when he added his fourth wife, Robyn, to the fold. But it’s also sounding like Kody might be looking for more young women to marry. At this point, he’s seeming less like a man committed to polygamy and more like a man who’s less interested in his committed partners and more interested in chasing new, young women. That doesn’t sound like a “polygamist role model.” (Not that he’s ever lived up to that aspiration) That sounds more like … that hot mugshot guy’s recent antics . And the results aren’t pretty. Specifically, it looks like Kody Brown’s wives want to leave him . But that same report mentions that Kody might be wanting to leave them anyway and build himself a new family. Now, we’ve heard stories about Kody Brown’s wives leaving him before. So we always try to take these things with a grain of salt. It was only a few months ago that Robyn seemed adamant that she wasn’t leaving Kody . But is it possible that she was just putting on a brave face? And while the idea of him wanting to set aside his current wives and build a new family from scratch sounds far-fetched. Like … Kody Brown’s behavior has always been out there. And it’s been getting worse, lately. If he’s having some sort of midlife crisis or whatever, who knows what he’s planning? A lot of reality shows are a mixed bag. Sister Wives is not. It’s bad. See, polyamory — non-monogamous relationships involving more than just two people — can be wonderful. Many thruples and triads and other groups of partners find that it makes their lives wonderful. And while the term polygamy implies that it’s just one many marrying multiple women and that’s the extent of everyone’s relationships, that can still work and be a good thing, too. The whole reason that Kody and his wives wanted to do Sister Wives in the first place is because they wanted to increase acceptance of polygamy . That’s a very noble goal. It might make taxes and inheritance and insurance and a few other things a little complicated, but is that really a deciding factor? We can’t really think of a legal justification for preventing a group of committed adults from making their relationship as official as everyone else’s. And Sister Wives was supposed to help normalize this in the minds of middle America. Unfortunately, because this relationship has Kody at the center, they may have set back the fight for polygamy by a few decades. And, by extension, the push for wider acceptance of polyamory. So … thanks, Kody. As always, we won’t take any stories at face value until they’re substantiated. It’s especially easy to believe stories that the wives are planning on leaving Kody, because every viewer wants them to run off. Confirmation bias is the psychological phenomenon that describes why we want to automatically believe things that fit our worldview. And nobody’s worldview finds Kody Brown to be an ideal mate. No matter what this story says, we more than suspect that Kody Brown’s wives know that. But that doesn’t mean that they’ll actually take the steps necessary to leave him.
After a solid month of rumors, gossip speculation and discussion from countless sources, we have finally heard from Beyonce herself. And Queen Bey delivered. Big time. The global music icon has confirmed the names of her newborn twins and shared the first photo of the pair, a fittingly glorious image. Somewhat amazingly, the widely circulated Beyonce baby names we reported late last month actually turned out to be accurate. Neither the mother of three nor her husband Jay Z had publicly commented on the names (or even their birth, for that matter). As was the case with their first child, Blue Ivy Carter, the private couple kept all the details to themselves until they were ready. So we were left wondering when, or if, they would do so here, and highly skeptical of Internet reports citing “sources” with intel. But in this case, the rumors were true. “Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today,” the 35-year-old captioned the photo above on Instagram in the early hours of Friday morning. Posted four hours ago, it has already received more than four million Likes as we type … probably a lot more by the time you read this. (Don’t you even think of NOT engaging with it, either. The Beygency has spreadsheets of all people who view it but don’t Follow or Like.) Also noteworthy – and overshadowed by that epic photo – is her acknowledgement of Sir and Rumi Carter’s birthday, one month ago. That would indicate the little kids’ birth as Wednesday, June 14, a solid 3-4 days before word got out that Beyonce gave birth to twins . Pretty impressive in this day and age. The family portrait, in which Bey wears a Palomo Spain ensemble, we’re told, evokes the same themes as her stunning maternity photo. Without question, the photo of her with the twins is a callback to Beyonce and Jay Z’s double baby announcement in February (above). The couple reportedly filed trademark documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in late June to protect the baby names. Their company filed papers to trademark the monikers for items like fragrances and cosmetics to baby gear, tote bags, and water bottles. Are we serious? Yes, Sir! (Sorry, we had to.) Filing to trademark names of infants less than a month old may sound patently (eh, eh?) absurd for anyone not named Jay Z and Beyonce. Yet it makes perfect sense for the Carters, because you know someone would actually try to do exactly what they’re trying to prevent. (Sir Carter is gonna be an epic rap name, BTW.) Rumi and Sir join big sister Blue Ivy, 5. Their proud parents stepped out last night to support Roc Nation artist Vic Mensa in Los Angeles. In one of the A-list duo’s first public appearances since expanding their family, “she was all smiles,” an onlooker reports, and rightfully so. Dressed in a white long-sleeve mini dress, she had her arm wrapped around her 47-year-old husband’s waist as they left the bash. Jay-Z briefly went on stage Thursday night to introduce the rapper, who recently announced his debut album, The Autobiography . Neither addressed their family in any way, shape or form … likely knowing Beyonce planned to do so in the wee hours of this morning. It’s been a crazy month, much of which was spent in the hospital, but Beyonce and her family are all at living home, happy and healthy. For a while, their health was the subject of much discussion as the twins’ stay in the hospital dragged on longer than expected. From what we’re told, unspecified health issues after their birth – most likely signs of jaundice – delayed the duo’s departure significantly. While obviously concerning to any new parent, newborns spending time “under the lights” to correct possible liver issues is commonplace. Say what you will about Kanye West, but there’s no denying that he’s had a rough time lately. Between his mental breakdown, the possible addition of one (or two) new babies to his family, and his very public falling out with Jay Z … The guy’s got a lot on his shoulders, that’s for sure. But for now, let’s focus on that mess with Jay Z. Kanye and Jay have been close for years and years, both personally and professionally. Unfortunately, something happened between them in the past few years, and they grew distant — so distant that, according to Kanye, Jay never even checked in on his family after Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint. He revealed all of this information in one of his infamous rants last October. As he explained it, he had an issue with Jay Z because he stopped their collaboration with Drake out of respect for Meek Mill — Drake and Meek don’t exactly get along. To Kanye, Jay’s move was simply some “Tidal/Apple bullsh-t,” and “that sh-t got me tight, yo!” “I can’t take this sh-t, bro,” he screamed at one point. And it was obviously true. A month later, Kanye even dared to go after Beyonce , explaining in another public rant that he was hurt that she was “playing the politics too much and forgetting who we are just to win.” “Jay Z, I know you got killers, please don’t send them at my head,” he added, apparently aware that slamming Beyonce was a bad idea As we know, Jay Z didn’t send killers after Kanye — instead, he waited several months before addressing the matter in one brutal verse on his new album . “I know people backstab you, I feel bad too,” he rapped in one song. “But this ‘f-ck everybody’ attitude ain’t natural.” “But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe, but you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye.” He rapped about giving Kanye “20 million without blinkin’,” and in turn Kanye gave him “20 minutes on stage, f-ck was he thinkin’?” “If everybody’s crazy,” Jay concluded, “you’re the one that’s insane.” It’s all pretty sad, right? Especially since the two men were once so close. And now, thanks to a new report from Page Six, it seems like we might finally know exactly what caused their issues. Her name is Kim. According to a source, Kanye’s original rant about Jay Z “was really about Kim and Beyonce not being BFFs .” “Kanye is frustrated that his wife does not have a better relationship with Beyonce. He wanted to put that pressure on Jay.” “It’s like, ‘We’re cool and we do business together, and now our wives should be friends?'” the source explained. Sure, it would be nice if Kim and Beyonce could get as close as their husbands once were, but “It’s not organic. It’s not real.” Because “Beyonce is a Southern, God-fearing woman, despite what you may see when she’s entertaining. Or at least it seems that way, based on a number of trademarks the artists filed last week to make sure no one else could profit off the use of those names in nearly any way. Beyonce and Jay Z are already parents to a girl named Blue Ivy, whose name at the time of her birth took most fans by confused surprised. But Sir and Rumi?!? How did the superstars even come up with those? Sir , the reported name given to the newborn boy, is of English origin. It’s typically reserved to important people who have received the honor of being knighted in Great Britain, such as Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Anthony Hopkins. It almost sounds like someone’s chosen rapper nickname, right? Sir Carter . You can see a musician performing under that moniker, can’t you? It certainly highlights Jay Z’s given last name and perhaps speaks to the career he hopes his won takes up in a couple decades. No pressure on you, Sir. One of the most successful rappers of all-time simply wants you to follow in his awe-inspiring footsteps. What about Rumi ? Some folks out there are drawing comparisons to the 13th-century Persian poet of the same name, whose work has influenced the arts for many generations. His first name was Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rumi and he’s a best-selling writer in the United States. (Actress Josie Maran, it’s perhaps worth noting, welcomed a daughter named Rumi in 2006.) Heck, they haven’t commented at all when it comes to their kids. As far as we’ve heard, Beyonce gave birth prematurely, which resulted in a minor medical issue that kept the kids in the hospital for several days. But they’re resting comfortably at a very large rented home in Malibu now, according to various insiders, where Beyonce and Jay Z are very tired and very happy. And while the birth of these twins had been all the Internet wanted to talk about for many weeks, Jay Z came out a couple days ago and changed the conversation a bit.
