What the Haters Missed in Going the Distance

Every so often, a movie comes into theaters with at least one big target on its back, and then it surprises the naysayers by actually being entertaining and worthwhile. Certainly Titanic couldn’t have had worse buzz, between its scheduling and budget difficulties and the easy jokes that could be made from its title, only to wind up being one of the biggest grossers of all time. Going the Distance (new on DVD from Warner Home Video) is no Titanic , granted, but this charming and funny little movie is nonetheless quite the surprise, all things considered.

Nicole Richie Pickin’ Her Whore Ass of the Day

I have had the unfortunate experience of hanging out with Nicole Richie for a night. It was back in the DJ AM days (RIP, motherfucker), when he invited me to attend a gig he was playing in town before anyone really knew who he was, after the crack addiction and gastric bipass but before The Simple Life, internationally known celebrity DJ…. I barely got into the event, the security were motherfuckers, they tour manager told me I was fat and that DJ AM wouldn’t know people like me, but for some reason someone stepped in and carted me around with Nicole Richie the whole night. I tried to steal her cellphone, I tried to make jokes about Lohan, It was like talking to a fucking useless, retarded troll who I wasn’t even interested in fucking and the whole experience wasn’t memorable, I just know she’s a bottom feeding loser first hand cuz I saw it, and I guess so did Lionel Richie when he felt forced to take her in and the Good Charlotte sister who knocked her up was just doing it cuz she was the only semi-famous pussy with no shame who would be into hanging with such a fucking clown. That said, I got her number years later, I called her and she told me off and changed her number. Then I followed her on twitter and she blocked me and got all her friends to block me too. So it is safe to say that she’s not a fan of me either. I always knew she had something shoved way up her ass, and not just an itch from bad hygiene, or Good Charlotte herpes, or underwear riding up her ass, or even a butt plug, but an actual object that is causing her pain and making her angry due to discomfort and I can only assume it is a crackpipe she shoved up there when she got arrested and here are some pics of her trying to get it out.

Ashley Greene, I’m onto You of the Day

I have nothing to say about Ashley Green, other than that I am onto her little scam and I don’t like it. She’s attached herself to a couple of the biggest things in teenage popculture. Twilight and the Jonas brothers and now she doesn’t have to work it for the cameras like a little attention seeking slut…cuz her attention seeking slut behavior was properly chanlled and distributed amongst the right people who put her in a power position where she doesn’t have to pull out tit, panty, or sex tapes….and the only happiness I have in all this is knowing that in order to get attached to two of the biggest things in teenage popculutre, bitch had to be a serious fucking dirtbag whore…..so I know she’s got it in her…no matter how celibate those cunt dudes are in interviews or on camera….there is now way they aren’t passing this twat around making her lick all their asses while they jerk off on her face….but I’d prefer if she was doing it for us all to see…I guess we’ll just have to wait til those things become irrelevant and she gets hungry for what she once had…It really is just a question of patience, but I still feel scammed….when someone makes the kind of money she makes…the public is entitled to something in return and not just shitty cleavage pics, I’m talking something substantial….She sucks.

‘The Buried Life’ Guys Say They’re Down For A Third Season

‘We always have things on the list that we want to cross off,’ castmember Ben Nemtin explains. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Rya Backer The cast of “The Buried Life” Photo: Angela Weiss/ Getty Images The gang behind MTV’s “The Buried Life” isn’t likely to leave behind a lengthy list of regrets when they kick the bucket, and for the season-two finale, the boys kicked off one of their biggest episodes ever: an hour-long opus packed with gutsy attempts at making a million bucks. Ben Nemtin, Dave Lingwood and Duncan Penn recently kicked back on the MTV Newsroom couch to chat about the finale and said the inspiration for the episode came from one of the most popular wishes that people across the board want to fulfill: becoming a multimillionaire. “Everywhere we go, we ask the question: ‘What do you want to do before you die?’ And it’s amazing how often we get an answer that has something to do with money and specifically like, ‘I wanna make millions of dollars,’ ” Duncan explained. “We really wanted to see how far we could get at making a million dollars. We tried everything [and] pulled off some amazing, amazing things. We’re really excited about this episode; that’s why we made it an hour long. We also get to help someone in a way that we’ve never been able to help someone. It’s a good one. It’s probably one of our best.” For Ben, his jumbo-size Las Vegas gamble tops his list of season two’s best moments. “My personal highlight is a moment that happens in the finale. The [episode goal] is to make a million dollars, and we do the biggest roulette spin in Vegas’ history. It’s probably one of the most nerve-racking … I don’t even know how to explain it, but it was a feeling that I don’t think I’ve never felt before, right before that spin,” he recalled. As viewers saw Monday night (November 29), the guys each chose a different path toward pumping up their bank accounts, armed with $25,000 of seed money each. Ben hit Vegas, Duncan ventured to Wall Street to team up with investment expert Jim Cramer, and Dave went into the apparel game, cranking out zippered onesies for adults. Duncan explained that his personal interest in business drew him to the moneymaking address. “I studied business in school, and so I decided what I wanted to do was go to Wall Street and team up with somebody, kind of a guru in the game and see how far I could get, how much money I could make in sort of a short period of time doing, like, really, really risky plays,” he said. The boys can now strike a line through “starring in the second season of their hit TV series” on their “Buried Life” list. They’re definitely game for a third go-around, but even if their adventures aren’t broadcast to the world, the fellas say they’ll continue to whittle down their list on their own. “We always have things on the list that we want to cross off. We started this in a garage in Canada four years ago and were doing it three years before MTV,” Ben said. “For us, we want to keep doing this as long as we can, so there’s always gonna be things that we’re trying to cross off. I mean, ‘go to space’ is on the list.” Duncan agreed: “We’re still surviving this season, but I think we’d be up for a third season.” What did you think of the season-two finale of “The Buried Life”? Stimulus Allows Big Polluters to Bypass Environmental Regulations

Photo: Vidor , Wikimedia, CC In its haste to jump-start “shovel-ready” stimulus projects, the Obama administration allowed many of the biggest polluters in the nation to sidestep key environmental regulations. The federal government made a stunning 179,000 “categorical exclusions” that allowed corporations — many with disastrous environmental records — to use stimulus funding to sponsor projects without submitting them to review under … Read the full story on TreeHugger

Black Eyed Peas Confirmed For Super Bowl Halftime Show

Peas will touch down during big game on February 6. By Gil Kaufman Black Eyed Peas Photo: Kevin Mazur/ Getty Images As if any more proof were necessary, the Black Eyed Peas will cement their reputation as one of the biggest bands in the world in February when they take the stage during the Super Bowl XLV halftime show. After unconfirmed reports surfaced last week that the hip-pop superstars would be breaking the recent chain of classic rock halftime performers, representatives from the National Football League made it official on Sunday. The Peas, whose latest album, The Beginning , is due out on Tuesday, will play the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLV Halftime show during the big game at Cowboys Stadium on February 6. Even for a group that has played to massive crowds across the globe, the Super Bowl gig is a once-in-a-lifetime affair, as it is the most-watched TV event of the year, seen by more than 153 million viewers in the U.S. and millions more around the globe. Both the game and the halftime show will be broadcast worldwide. The Peas will become the first non-rock act in seven years to perform on the biggest stage in TV, following in the footsteps of a glittering procession of classic rock acts that have had the honor in recent years, including Sir Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, and last year, the Who. As extra incentive for fans to pick up The Beginning, the band is offering a chance to be their special guests at the Super Bowl halftime show. The megashow will be the first of what will likely be a whole year of blowouts according to BEP leader will.i.am , who recently told Billboard magazine that his group hopes to fill stadiums around the globe in 2011. Why Are TV’s Court Jesters Making the Most Sense? And The Most News?

On Comedy Central, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are mounting a Washington, D.C. rally that may end up being one of the biggest political stories of the season. Meanwhile, on HBO, Bill Maher is making news by resurrecting old Politically Incorrect clips featuring current Tea Party heroine Christine O'Donnell. What's going on here? Why are our politically interested comics making more sense, and news, than anyone else around right now? Because, This TV critic fears, they may have the most credibility — especially with younger viewers. And you know what? I'm not sure that's a bad thing. http://www.tvworthwatching.com/blog/2010/09/why-are-tvs-court-jesters-maki.shtml… added by: atomiclegion

Nicki Minaj Calls VMA Pre-Show Set ‘An Amazing Look’

‘As an underground female rapper, that’s the biggest accomplishment so far,’ she tells MTV News. By Shaheem Reid, with reporting by Tim Kash Nicki Minaj Photo: MTV News People are still talking about Nicki Minaj’s colorful performance at the VMA pre-show with special guest Will.I.Am, and she recognizes what a big milestone it was in her young career. “That was an amazing look,” Nicki told MTV News right after the main show Sunday night. “I’m so thankful to have that opportunity. As an underground female rapper, that’s the biggest accomplishment so far.” Nicki also threw kudos to her Young Money family member (and Twitter ex-husband ) Drake. “Our divorce isn’t finalized yet,” Nicki joked before assessing Drake’s performance of “Fancy” with Mary J. Blige and Swizz Beatz. “No, he was amazing. He’s always spot-on. I thought Mary sounded like honey. Honey! Amazing. And, of course, my baby Swizz Beatz was up there. I loved it.” The day after the show, Nicki was back in her hometown of New York performing as part of the Jay-Z and Eminem’s Home and Home concert series . Minaj came out with Jiggaman and Kanye West for “Monster.” “I’ve just been blessed to be on a song with two living legends,” Nicki told DJ Drama recently on his Gangsta Grillz radio program. “In my book, Jay and Kanye are icons, and I never in a billion years would have thought I would be on a song with one of them, let alone both of them. I’m happy people think I murdered the record. It just feels exciting to be a part of that collab. Seriously.” Minaj’s VMA pre-show performance won over some new fans as well as her peers. “I think Nicki Minaj is the truth,” Katy Perry said of Minaj . “I think she is amazing, and I love her sense of style. I love her beautiful figure. It’s hot.” “What I love about Nicki is she has the eye of the tiger and she is fearless,” Minaj choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson said. “These are the components that I saw about three years ago in Lady Gaga. I thought, ‘This is going to be fantastic.’ Her swag is amazing.” What did you think of Nicki’s VMA pre-show performance? Let us know in the comments!
