Mark Cuban is not backing down. Speaking to Inc. magazine about the racist comment made by Donald Sterling over the past few weeks, along with the decision by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to ban the 80-year old for life , the Dallas Mavericks owner said the league is setting a dangerous precedent. Does it really want to take action against executives for their words and thoughts? “We’re all prejudiced in one way or another,” Cuban said. “If I see a black kid in a hoodie and it’s late at night, I’m walking to the other side of the street. “And if on that side of the street, there’s a guy that has tattoos all over his face – white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere – I’m walking back to the other side of the street. ” The Shark Tank star continued: “And the list goes on of stereotypes that we all live up to and are fearful of. So in my businesses, I try not to be hypocritical. I know that I’m not perfect. I know that I live in a glass house, and it’s not appropriate for me to throw stones.” Not long after making these comments, Cuban realized the mistake he made in using the hoodie example, considering Florida teenager Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman in 2012. Zimmerman was found not guilty of murder after becoming suspicious of Martin – who was walking in his neighborhood while wearing a hooded sweatshirt – and then shooting him during a scuffle. “P/1: In hindsight I should have used different examples. I didn’t consider the Trayvon Martin family, and I apologize to them for that,” Cuban Tweeted last night. But aside from that apology, Cuban said he stands bu the “words and substance of the interview.” “I think that helping people improve their lives, helping people engage with people they may fear or may not understand,” he wrote. “And helping people realize that while we all may have our prejudices and bigotries.” Concluded the billionaire: “we have to learn that it’s an issue that we have to control, that it’s part of my responsibility as an entrepreneur to try to solve it.”

Donald Sterling on Black NBA Players: I Give Them Money and Food!

A day after audio of Donald Sterling blasting his girlfriend for publicizing her interactions with African-American hit the Internet, another tape of the Los Angeles Clippers being very racist has gone public. In footage obtained by Deadspin, Sterling continues to talk down to V. Stiviano, saying of the black players on his team: “I support them and give them food, and clothes, and cars, and houses. Who gives it to them? Does someone else give it to them?” Donald Sterling Audio: More Racist Comments! He went on to tell Stiviano he’s not afraid of replacing her with another girlfriend because she doesn’t support his views on race. Hours after his initial comments hit the Internet, Sterling responded in a statement that said what is reflected on the recording is the “antithesis” of what he really believes about minorities. Elsewhere, President Obama has joined the chorus of those castigating this billionaire. “When ignorant folks want to advertise their ignorance, you don’t really have to do anything. You just let them talk. That’s what happened here,” Obama told reporters during his trip to Malaysia. He added that Sterling’s comments were “incredibly offensive” and are an example of how the “United States continues to wrestle with the legacy of race and slavery and segregation.” “That’s still there, the vestiges of discrimination,” the President concluded. “We’ve made enormous strides, but you’re going to continue to see this percolate up every so often.” Meanwhile, TMZ has obtained the photo of Stiviano and Magic Johnson from Instagram, the one that set Sterling off on his racist rant to begin with:

Max Martini to Play Christian’s Bodyguard in Fifty Shades of Grey

Veteran actor Max Martini has joined the cast of the much-anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey movie. He will play Christian Grey’s bodyguard, according to reports. Martini made a splash in 2013 (pun intended) as a leader of the Navy Seal team in Captain Phillips , as well as one of the main leads in Pacific Rim . He also had a memorable arc on Revenge Season 1 . In Fifty Shades of Grey , Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will portray Ana and Christian, the billionaire who Martini’s character will be protecting. The 43-year-old actor joins recently announced actors Luke Grimes , Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford and Jennifer Ehle in the 50 Shades film adaptation. Reports indicate that the film will finally begin production sometime in early December and will arrive in theaters nationwisde on February 13, 2015. Valentine’s Day, natch. Bring your cuffs.

Chris Brown: CLEARED of Alleged Nightclub Assault!

Score another legal victory for Chris Brown, who is off the hook for his alleged assault on a female club-goer in Orange County earlier this summer. Deanna Gines, 24, claimed he violently shoved her down at Heat Ultra Lounge, causing ligament damage to her knee that would require surgery. Her injuries were suspicious from the start, however, and the club owner denied that Chris was involved in any wrongdoing (as did the star himself). The nail in the proverbial coffin was Gines walking around on her “injured” leg after the alleged incident, as the Anaheim City Attorney tossed the case. Deanna is still threatening to sue Chris for her so-called suffering, which will clearly not result in him losing, but may well rile the singer up on Twitter. Speaking of Chris Brown Twitter rants , he went off on an EPIC one after being sentenced to 1,000 hours of community labor (below), but that’s okay. Stef Dawson Cast as Annie Cresta in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay!

Stef Dawson has joined the cast of The Hunger Games. The Australian actress will come on board the final two installments of this blockbuster franchise as Annie Cresta, the District 4 Victor and love interest of Sam Claflin’s Finnick Odair. Dawson is the second actress in the past couple weeks to be named to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2, as Natalie Dormer is signed up to portray the rebellious Cressida in the movies that are scheduled for release in late 20125 and 2016, respectively. Mockingjay will be directed by Francis Lawrence and – SPOILER ALERT! – follow Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, who leads a rebellion against the corrupt Capitol its leaders. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves with this casting news. Long before Mockingjay hits theaters, Catching Fire will come out on November 22, 2013. We cannot wait.
